Not found on any map, Endrykas is a large migrating tent city wherein the horseclans of Cyphrus gather to trade and exchange information. [Lore]

Taylani smiled once more at the healer, and shifted the basket to one arm, propping the weave against her hip. Her now freed hand presses against her stomach as she spoke, "Thank you Waisana..It would be nice to have a friend. I have a feeling that I will be needing much advice in the coming months." Again that sadness behind her eyes that flitted quickly and then leaves.
One brow raises when the healer speaks of something else, and her head tilts a little. Her advice? Out here in Endrykas no one needed anything from her other then her womb, she was perfectly useless which was why she was throwing herself into trying to learn new skills. "My advice? I can try, but I am not sure what I can help you with..unless you want to learn a new dance, or a new song." The last is said with a very quiet laugh, an unused sound that it even surprised Taylani a little when she uttered one. When was the last time she had truly laughed? That in and of itself was worth trying to give the healer whatever advice she could.

Waisana frowned, wondering at her own stupidity. Somehow she'd forgotten that Taylani was pregnant. The way the woman had touched her stomach together with her words had reminded her of what the woman had waiting ahead of her. Of course the captive would want her advice and now she had just made certain that the woman would seek it from her. She'd have to make sure that she had information to give the woman when she came seeking it, that might mean an awkward conversation with someone in the future.
She tried to focus on what she wanted advice on instead. Taylani seemed to find it humorous that Waisana would seek her advice on something, laughing the idea off easily. The healer found herself fidgeting as she tried to articulate the problem.
"My problem is to do with a boy. He's about my age but I didn't know him until recently," she began, feeling awkward for voicing this. She continued, "Earlier in the season he cut his finger and he came in for treatment but he asked for me. He knew my name! Since then he keeps appearing when I least expect him. I swear he's hurting himself on purpose so that he has an excuse to see me. Nkosi is the most annoying boy I've ever met! What do I do?!"

"You know him?" she asked, shocked. The healer hadn't known of his existence prior to when he first came in for treatment yet here was a captive, one who hadn't been amongst the Drykas very long, who knew the young man who pursued her. It seemed nearly impossible yet here was Taylani telling her that the boy was known to her, was a friend of Fallan's. Waisana couldn't believe it. She felt a little put out now.
"Oh. You know him. Right. Uh well yes he's very persistent in pursuing me. I don't think he'd quit trying if I tried to tell him I'm not interested. I've already made that very clear. I don't want a husband yet he still does it! It has to be on purpose, it just has to be!" she chattered, her hands moving in gestures that conveyed her agitation regarding the subject. The signs were no doubt lost on the Common speaker.
"I can't believe that any man would be so stupid as to get themselves injured for the sake of grabbing the attention of a woman. It's pathetic and stupid. It only makes them look like fools. The man you were talking about probably had qualities that his wife finds appealing hence why he attracted her notice. It wasn't because of some foolish romantic gesture," she told her. The teen crossed her arms across her chest, stubbornly refusing to believe what the woman had said.

It was good to have another person's problems to think on rather then dwelling on her own. It had been so long since Taylani had been able to even hope to offer anything to someone that wasn't related to her body that it made her feel good. "Waisana, men will do most anything to gain the attention of a woman that they are attracted to." Taylani had lived a sheltered life in Syliras sure, but she did know that much.
"Now deliberately hurting themselves, well that might be the only way to see you in the tents? However if you really don't want him to pursue you...you have a choice. Refuse to treat him, but...I don't think that you really want to refuse to treat him."
She shrugs her shoulders a little, giving the younger healer a knowing smile before raising her free hand again. "You aren't being forced to take him as a husband, but would it hurt too much to simply talk to him? Tell him either you have absolutely no desire to even talk to him, or tell him your not in the market for a husband but perhaps you could ...take a stroll in the evening time."

The girl looked glumly in the direction of a tent behind Taylani's head. She had to admit that the woman was right. If all the injuries that Nkosi was coming in with we're done entirely by his own hand than it was obvious that the teen was very very desperate to get her attention. She sincerely wished it wasn't the case, especially as it was making her paranoid. The healer was constantly looking over her shoulder and checking around corners, always expecting the boy to appear out of nowhere.
"I really wish he wouldn't but I can't refuse to treat him. I don't want to do that. I don't believe in turning away a patient, no matter how they came about their injuries, and besides I'm not going to allow him to frighten me away from my work," she replied, lifting her chin to show her defiance. It was true she wasn't going to let that petching idiot to chase her from her work.
She sighed sadly, gazing at Taylani with pleading eyes. "Is that the only thing I can do? Indulge his desire to see me? Give him my attention just so I can tell him to go away? This is ridiculous! I can't stand him. It doesn't matter how many times he smiles at me and calls me pretty, I won't give him what he wants. I can't go for a walk with him as you say. I'd have strangled him or something and left his body for the glassbeaks before we'd taken two steps. There must be something else I can do!"

Taylani shook her head with a smile, and moved closer to the healer and offered her an arm. She didn't say it, but Waisana was complaining about a man coming to see her a little too often, at least he hadn't purchased her and then told her point blank she was going to bear children for him..or for everyone. With a shiver Taylani pushed that conversation with Fallan out of her mind. That had been the first day, and she was now...mostly...sure he was simply trying to make her pliable that he wouldn't truly have chained her and passed her around.
Again she didn't say this to the other, because she knew there was no way that the other could see it from the colored tint of a former captive. "You could also speak to your parents, if he is doing such it is a form of harrassment. You could speak to them and see if they can speak to his Ankal. Though from what you said, they might encourage it. The thing is Waisana, if you don't speak frankly with him then he will always think that he has a chance. And that wouldn't be fair to him."
If Waisana had allowed Taylani to put her arm around her, Taylani would tick off her choices with her fingers against the others shoulder, "Those are your choices. Involve your family, out right tell him he is barking up the wrong tree, or simply refuse to see him no matter his injuries."

The young healer groaned softly and began to worry at her bottom lip. The options that Taylani had presented her with couldn't be chosen between in Waisana's opinion yet she knew that they were the most obvious and sensible.
The idea of refusing to treat Nkosi's injuries was unthinkable to her, no matter what an annoying little shyke he was. True, she didn't want to hurt him in anyway but the desire to harm him that crept into her at times frightened her. He was just that irritating and repulsive to her that she couldn't even stand being near him.
Telling her parents would certainly be... interesting. The other healers would probably have mentioned the attention she was getting to her father. He was a much loved healer and so if his daughter who was of marrying age received attention from a partner in the tents, then he'd have heard of it. Curiously he hadn't said anything about it. As for her mother she wanted her to marry for love but what the Ankal said was law so if her father approved of the young man...
That left her with option three, the very last one and the most sensible choice of the trio: to talk frankly to him. True she disliked talking to him but if she had to give him some of her attention in order to explain that she wanted nothing to do with him then she would.
"I guess I'll talk to him, little as I might want to it seems as if I have no other choice really," she sighed, looking at the woman with a resigned expression on her face.

Taylani dropped her arm, and she could manage a smile now toward the healer girl. "It will be okay Waisana. It is also only fair to him." Turning to face the healer face to face once more, Taylani interlocks her fingers in front of her standing a little more easily then she used to stand before.
"Besides, if you don't speak frankly with him ..who knows..the next time he enters your tents it might be missing an arm or leg, or something equally important." Shrugging, she had never had a man act so insanely for her attention, most men in Syliras knew she had been married to Dance figuratively speaking. A few had asked her to go for walks but she generally turned them down and word had spread. Then Fallan..well she supposed one could call buying someone on a whim was insane.
Once more she smiles, to attempt and show that she was teasing. She certainly hope that Nkosi would not go to that far extremes. "If you want, if I see him soon I can talk to him for you..."

The healer made a face at the fairness of it. Perhaps it was fair to him but it wasn't for her. If she talked to him and rejected him, Waisana would break his heart. The guilt would drive her insane. Not saying anything would lead him on and break her heart because of the upset and stress it would cause her. Either way, for her, the situation was grossly unfair.
The girl reacted in horror at the mere idea of such a thought crossing the boy's mind. She covered her face, shaking her head wildly as if to dispel such an image from her mind. She'd never live with that guilt either if he did such damage to himself solely for her attention. Why did Nkosi have to be so petching persistent?
The teen shook her head violently at Taylani's suggestion. "No! If this has to be done then I'll do it for myself. Besides he can't misinterpret things if I tell him personally. Suppose he didn't believe what you said. No, my way, my problem," she explained quickly and quietly. It wasn't an enjoyable thought but it was something that had to be done.
