Reneko Twilight Race: Human Gender: Male Age: 17 Birthday: 15th day of Fall, 496 Birthplace: Lhavit Appearance: Reneko is 5’9” tall and weighs 140 lbs. People talking to him often notice that he rarely makes direct eye contact with them. If he stares at you with his grey blue eyes, that usually means he’s either interested in you, or wants something from you. But instead he often stares into open space and wears an absent minded expression. Below his messy, brown hair, he has pale skin that indicates he spends much less time under direct sunlight than most people. This is because he was either studying inside, or it was already dark by the time he got out. Looking at him it is obvious that he must have spent far more time working with his mind, than with his body. He is neither muscular, nor bulky, nor very agile. If he were to get involved in a melee fight he would be more of a liability than an asset. However, due to the freedom Reneko gets through his morphing abilities, this physical description should be considered as a helpful suggestion at best. Still, even when transformed he often keeps his favourite clothing item: the felt hat with the insignia of his house on it. Character Concept Reneko is an aspiring morpher and world-mage. His goal in life is to travel around Mizahar, meet members of all sentient races and acquire a model of each of them. He wants to this because no one has ever done it before. He could become a powerful mage, prove himself and bring honor to his house along the way as well. On the one hand this clearly implies that he is rather naive and does not consider the risks of traveling, overging, or say, getting eaten by a Zith seriously enough. On the other hand he just might be clever and imaginative enough to pull it off. Only time will tell. Reneko has always enjoyed learning and using magic and would go to great lengths to acquire more. He wholeheartedly agrees that the end justifies the means and feels that certain sacrifices are probably necessary achieve ones goals. However, because he had lived in such a peaceful city as Lhavit, he did not face true moral dilemmas so far. He never had to weigh the life of a comrade against the success of a mission, and so, did not yet wonder what he would do. Religion is a topic he feels distinctly dispassionate about. It is not like he objects against it, rather he has simply not yet heard about a god he is interested in worshipping. Character History Altelo, head of house Twilight had two wives over the course of his life. His first love, Aleine, he had lost to the sea. In 493 AV a terrible storm had wrecked chaos along the west coast of Kalea. The ship she had been in, while he had stayed back in Lhavit was destroyed; none of the passengers ever returned. What’s more, Aleine was in the late stages of pregnancy when she left, and so Altelo never saw his first child. For years he searched and wondered if they are still alive, and if so where they might be. As time went by and hope of finding them got ever slimmer, Altelo was instead able to find new love. A Kelvic white Lion from the house guards, named Frost, was capable to warm Altelos heart once again. By 496 AV she gifted him with his first son, Reneko. Life had been much kinder to Reneko during his childhood, than to so many other poor souls in Mizahar. Born as a member of an influential house in the peaceful and prosper city of Lhavit granted him safety, and the privilege of education. From an early age on, he eagerly learned his houses traditional art of morphing and was taught by his own father. At 8, in a fit of childish enthusiasm Reneko got obsessed with the order of the Shinya and the guards of his house. He marveled at what great heroes they were and dreamed of being one himself. His parents would not have it. His father considered it too pointlessly dangerous for his son, his loving but strict mother had simply said “no” and that had been the end of it. In the end, it was all for the best, as it turned out that Reneko was quite inept at using any part of his body below the neck. To make up for it, Reneko was initiated into Projectionism, the art of the Shinya. A prominent event in Renekos life was the Day of Discord in 511. Though he had never liked his uncle Weisur, watching the men’s public execution left a horrid impression on the barely 15 year old boy. From that day on he could be found even more often inside, studying. His father, now head of Twilight, was able to spend much less time with his son. So, Reneko taught himself glyphing, as it improved his Morphing capabilities even further, and allowed him to store his transformations on scroll, to pass on to others. By his 17th birthday, Reneko had come to a resolution what he would to do in his life. This time, not even his mother could persuade him otherwise. He wanted to travel around Mizahar, find members of all sentient races, and acquire a morphing model for each of them. He wanted to do this despite the fact that it was dangerous. He wanted to do this despite the fact that he had heard of most of them only in a book in their tower’s library. He wanted to do this despite the fact that he had never stepped aboard a ship in his life. And he was going to do it, no matter the cost.
