Sally is a tall and willowy young woman with a very delicate frame. Her legs are long and slender and her waist and chest are small. She has long, wavy blonde hair, a shade lighter than straw and she usually keeps it swept up into a sloppy bun, long tendrils framing an angular, pale face. Her eyes are a bright and clear blue, surrounded by a thick set of lashes, only slightly darker than her hair. A winged serpent
marks the palm of her left hand and on the right she bears the brand of a freeborn.
Her voice is soft and she speaks in a calm, measured manner. Salene was born in Mura to a human healer, Selkie, who had chosen to live among the Konti in order to improve her skills, her father a sailor, Alec, who meet her mother on the journey from Nyka to Mura. Salene was born small and weak, sickly from her first breath. Her childhood was spent mostly indoors, being cared for by her mother. Her health improved slowly with her age but she was still left susceptible to colds and viruses extremely easily.
Sally was raised in Mura until the age of twelve, when her mother, satisfied with what she had learnt, returned to Zeltiva to share her work and teach at the university. As she grew her mother encouraged her to attend lessons at the university, and taking the advice she selected lessons in Herbalism, appreciating the opportunities it provided for her and the convenience of mixing her own medicines.
