The Bear! (Reyaax WestStorm)

Postby Reyaax Weststorm on November 9th, 2013, 11:50 pm

Reyaax Weststorm

Appearance

Name: Reyaax Weststorm
Alias: Rey & The Bear
Race: Drykas
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Height: 225 LBS
Weight: 6'4” (Feet/Inches)
Birthday: The 21st day of Winter - Year 485 AV
Birthplace: Endrykas, Cyphrus; on the outskirts of Riverfall

Appearance

Reyaax is fierce. With a thick stone like jawline that gives his face a fearsome debut, his facial features could be depicted as barbaric or Neanderthal like. Rarely to never will his dark brown slits for eyes ever show fear. The beige hues show a hint of oriental in them from the low profile and ever so slight slant. On windy days Reyaax would be spotted having to brush hair from his face. Tumbling down passed his broad shoulders, curls of lengthy onyx hair reach the center of his chest. Beneath the thicket of the boundary of his hair, Reyaax's massive barrel chest protrudes predominantly. Without a tunic, his bare chest is cut and muscled with more space between his two shoulders than most. Amidst his vast, broad shoulders toned arms dangle down to each thigh. Dark black hair mildly ranges up his rather thick forearms, growing a tad thicker up his wide biceps, then sheets the rest of his body in patches.

From his feet to his waist, it is much like his arms. Only for his thighs and calves are much thicker, yet just as athletic as his upper body - all derived from the training as a child and his adult life. An all around robust body. Though it would be unnatural otherwise, giving the circumstances for The Drykas's anatomy and solid frames. Dissimilar to his race, his height. Reyaax famously towers over most of his race, partially the cause for his tag 'The Bear'.

Generally Rey wears darker natural colors such as opaque browns or woods green. Doing so mainly to match his outdoors surrounding and mask himself to remain anonymous as possible when needed whether it be for voyeurism, lurking, hunting animal, or perchance hunting people. Preferably he goes shirtless to parade the tattoo forever flowing across his upper body. The permanent piece of art is a silhouette of a stallion riding across his abdomen with faint undulating lines behind the steed. It was received once he was chosen by his Strider, a Stallion named Valgund-Deror; the steed's name translates to Grey The Wild in common tongue. Through Reyaax's hair are assorted beads intertwined with various braids tangled in it's obsidian length. Each bead and braid represents a significant event that has occurred whether it be a battle, death, or even new life. Unlike his clothing, the beads are all different colors and material ranging from vibrant yellow to intricately glass made beads.

Character Concept

Trained to be bold. Reyaax along with his generation was required to go through mental and physical teachings and disciplines. This was one of the building blocks to his strong and willful being. He's acquired diverse abilities, majority being Drykas related skills, yet others he's learned on his own. Unlike his kind, he is a thinker - he yields to take time out, stop and take in information from all situations. Taking interest in a array of thing, Rey not only finds hobbies in fighting and violence as most presume.

On the outer shell there is a brute that in the norm shows limited amounts of emotion. Despite his tight-fisted chassis, he can be thoughtful and tentative. Granted, only a few tend to see this light hearted small fraction of his character. Limited to family, children, and very close acquaintances. The past few years have taken a toll, his emotions have been buried deeper than ever before. Rey has a leader type demeanor, his voice stern and eyes linger emotionless. His leader like poise is leaded by his determined soul. When Rey is sincere about achieving or completing something he can become stubborn from his iron-willed mindset, doing whatever it takes to do what needs done.

To take his mind away from the world of Mizahar, Reyaax's favored past time is hunting. Naturally he enjoys hunting on his own to embrace the outdoors, bringing himself to be one with the wilderness. What he loves so deeply about the wild is the quietness and the way it speaks to him. The chirping of birds, rustling of trees, leaves crunching beneath his feet all create a serene feeling that makes him truly feel at home. Another interest of Rey's, one that has came more instinctively is fighting. Fortunately, his fists have always seemed to guide their way in competition or confrontation. Not only throwing punches, he has also been trained how to use every aspect of his being to fight. Fists, feet, arms, legs, shoulders, hips, height, weight, knees, elbows, and most importantly mind. Using combat without his fists is something he also has a deep enjoyment for, putting it into weapons. His weapon of choice: The Broadsword.

Reyaax has an ideology that he strongly believes in. Everything is connected. His philosophy is that all is energy and energy is all. The wind and trees of nature are all one. Let us say for example; a Drykas is functioned by a heart, lungs, liver, and all it's other components to keep it alive. And what about underneath all of those components? They are made of atoms. Under all the atoms? Protons, neutrons, and electrons? Everything is made of something. Just as with a cause, there is an effect. When enough atoms come together, they create a heart - by energy. When wood becomes hot enough from energy, it can create heat, when that heat becomes hot enough from energy one can forge a sword by striking it with a hammer - with energy, and with that sword one's life can be taken by energy. This consuming force is what Reyaax believes is one of the few explanations and meanings of life's mysteries. "Ask yourself" Reyaax has asked, "what happens when energy is no more? We are no more."

Character History (Under construction)

Reyaax comes from a subsection of the Drykas Diamond Horseclan known as the Storm Clan. With ancestors dating back long before Valterrian, the Storm Clan originated with small four families. The North, East, South, and West Storm's. All of which still stand strong together apart from the SouthStorms exile while trying to ride out the Valterrian and becoming extinct. All remaining members of the Storm Clan are proud of where they originate, wearing a sigil to show their pride. Reyaax lived with his father (Theorm Weststorm) and mother (Talia Weststorm). Additionally two brothers (Vangar and Axil) and one sister (Eva) made up his family. When young, Rey was outgoing and had a vibrant spirit. People said he had a loveable aura about him. Reyaax had a traditional childhood, considering the other children in his clan. From a boy's seventh summer up until his fourteenth he is obligated to take part in Menntum; translated into common tongue as education to strengthen. Like explained earlier, Menntum is training for the mind and body. For three days in a row, the young Drykas's bodies are pushed to the limit. Afterwards for a single day the adolescents are taught reading/writing, hunting, riding, and other essential skills. Any who cease to complete their training or fail to meet the expectations from the trials and tests will not be considered a man. These few are considered weak and mentally incompetent, then given a woman's duty. Reyaax came out ahead; he was rewarded with the Golden Hammer. The Golden Hammer is a gold plated war hammer hair piece that is awarded to the strongest Drykas in his regiment. It's sister award, the Golden Scroll is appointed to the most intelligent Drykas. Succeeding top of his class; though the teachings of manhood did what it is meant for, change the once warm heartened child into a solemn adult. Still enjoying the simple things though, having a good laugh with friends or telling stories over meat and meade. Once finishing Menntum he was given the chance to become an apprentice to a Storm Rider. Two years later at the age of sixteen Reyaax was considered a man and honorably matured to a Storm Rider. The Storm Riders are the go to men of the clan for protection. Also called The Riders or Riders, they're the elites whom are sent out to secure their people from threats. Currently made from one hundred of some of the bravest and most fearless Drykas. In their society everyone knew each other but typically a man had two or three close friends that were like family. Orten and Balrid was Rey's two ties minus blood. The three were bound to one another, inseparably coming together while still learning to walk. Blood for blood, arms for arms. They were united as one. If one shall fall, so shall the rest. In the summer of 508 AV Reyaax lost his two brothers; Orten and Balrid. In the Battle of Direction, a human formerly known as Matrize swept through Cyphrus with a route of destruction. Attempting to maraud while enslaving as many bodies as as obtainable. Ending his carnage at the traveling city of Endrykas, the StormRiders led him into a trap. The infamous coward was baited to an open field and mowed down easy as any village he blighted. Though Orten and Balrid were incinerated when they became barricaded into a mobile archer tower. Reyaax witnessed them burned alive as he rushed to the tower to recover them. Coming too late, he was filled with devastation as he was forced to pull their charred bodies from the fire. As a result from the deaths, Reyaax spiraled into a deep depression. Not one soul knew what happened. One day he was at the Battle of Directions, fighting along side his comrades and the next he was absent. Still to this day no one knows where he went. When he returned four years later he was changed. The depression was no longer built within him, nevertheless, the slightest smile or hint of laughter wouldn't be seen or heard from Reyaax. Six months passed and he'd shown small progress of adjusting to civilization again. Silent whispers question if he will be able to cope or if Reyaax will ever come to.

And the story begins..
