Appearance

Race: Inarta
Caste: Avora.
Gender: Female
Age: Twenty.
Birthday: 10, Summer, 493 AV.
Birthplace: Wind Reach.

Appearance:

With fair skin, Azalia stands at 5'3, weighing at about 115lbs. She has a slender build and sports long, wavy, fiery red hair with one lock of her hair braided around a thin strip of cotton. She has bright green eyes almost bordering on yellow and is constantly seen wearing the signature outfits of the Inarta, a pair of black bryda and a brown tank-top like vinati to match along with black ankle boots.

Character Concept

Azalia is a little quieter than the regular outspoken and hot-tempered Inarta. She makes sure she is polite with people, but she still has that blunt, brutal honesty that the Inarta tend to sport and tends to forget when to tell whether she can say something or not… so is a little impulsive sometimes. However, she loves the feeling of adrenaline and does whatever she can to experience that feeling, and with her ambition to be an Eagle Rider, her determination is strong and ever since she was a child she has wanted to be part of the Eagle Riders.

She has an immense love for hunting, ever since her father had started teaching her as a child, and as she grew, so did her determination. She was ambitious, and she might even say that she has a joy for studying, however only if it is something she is interested in such as falconry and becoming a part of the Eagle Riders. Travel is another thing she adores, anything with her sense of adventure. She likes going cliff diving whenever she can, but most of her time is spent training to better herself.

Azalia isn't exactly the right person to confide in. She'll try her best, but she feels awkward in trying to do so, hence why she dislikes doing so because she never knows what to say. If to give a list on what she dislikes, the biggest thing that would provoke her is anyone disrespecting her or birds.

Character History

If only Azalia could say she lived happily as a child… and while she sort of did, she always felt like something was missing, and she couldn't handle that feeling. She hated feeling uncertain about what was going to happen to her in the future even as a child. But let's dwell on that a little further later on, shall we?

Azalia was born under a father who was an artisan, known for his skill in hunting and being able to find good game to trade to others. Her mother on the other hand was a commoner, and the two had actually loved each other very much so and had a love for Azalia which could be considered rare in some Inartan families. The young Inartan child lived happy with parents as part of the Avora, even if her mother was part of the Chiet. Taught since she could practically walk properly, her father would take her on his hunting trips despite her mother's protests, always thinking he was a little reckless with the girl, but she always seemed to enjoy it. He would teach her techniques, repeating them whenever the two were out that by the time Azalia was five years old, she had caught herself some good game.

That was when she got her first bow. On her fifth birthday was when Azalia had earned a shortbow, to which she was allowed to go hunting with her Father whenever he had some extra free time. While her father had given her the freedom of going out and hunting, her mother was a little more strict, encouraging her immensely to do her best in her classes. Her mother was a firm believer in the morals Inartan naturally have which was that all birds were sacred, and in having that belief, she had given Azalia her first bird to properly take care of; a bluejay. Her mother had known the bluejays tended to be quite a noisy and aggressive bird, but because of it, with the determination little Azalia had, she refused to spoil it in ways that it could become more aggressive, but she still made sure to treat the bird with the utmost respect.

Her happiness was short lived after her fifth birthday. A duel had taken place, one of those spontaneous, reckless duels that her mother had always disapproved of, at least that's what it was thought about. But this duel was done when Azalia and her father had been heading home after hunting some game. An Inartan had lost his temper - what the cause of his anger was Azalia would never know, but her father had intervened when said Inartan had tried taking it out on a woman. Her father was strong, but close combat was not something he was experienced in, unlike the other Inartan who was experienced with talon swords. Needless to say… the fight did not last very long, but the fact Azalia had been standing there the whole time, watching her father fall, had taunted her with dreams for a long while after it had happened. She doesn't remember what happened after that last image of her father on the ground, unmoving… "Daddy…? Wake up… wake up!" Only little flashes of a man taking her back to her home and breaking the news to her mother and Azalia being given her fathers' quiver. Another flash. Her mother crying when Azalia would wake in the middle of the night to her sounds she thought Azalia couldn't hear.

Now because her mother had… married into the Avora caste, since she was originally a Chiet, that was where her mother was put once again. It was amazing how a change in caste could affect different things; her mother getting more menial tasks instead of following a proper schedule. Her mother became more strict on Azalia; telling her to do her best in her classes and yelling at her when she wasn't striving for more. In turn of this, Azalia refused to do anything less than the best.

Fast forward three years and she was then eight years old. She had continued hunting since her father had passed, making sure to bring home some game and get praise from her mother. It was something she craved now ever since she became more strict on her. But as she turned eight, her mother informed her of Azalia having to move to the youth section of the city, and Azalia, far from wanting to question her mother, went ahead without a complaint. It seemed like everything started to change for Azalia at this point. She was on her own now and she quickly realized that. As part of the youth, she would get Bendi duties and in one in particular, she visited the Eagle Aeries.

The curious little girl had been assigned to clean it, but in her time there, the rider and his eagle had been nothing but kind to her. He would tell her stories about what it is like as an Eagle Rider, and his eagle had even allowed her to stroke his feathers. All the stories the man had told Azalia had never left her mind, and suddenly, all she wanted to do was to grow and become an Eagle Rider. Something happened within her that day, that after she was done with her duties, it was all she could think about; her grown up self as part of the Endal caste and being able to be in the air freely with her Eagle. Her thoughts escalated and she thought about traveling, but she knew that she would never be able to truly leave home for too long.

Azalia was a determined child. Anyone in their right mind could see that in the way she somehow found time to do so many things that she refused to sit still. When she wasn't in classes or doing duties, she would be rock climbing, hunting, or tending to her Raven, another gift given to test her ability in training the birds and bettering herself at falconry. But there was a cost to doing all this, because most of the time she was sacrificing sleep; but she always told herself that it'll only benefit her in the future.

By the time she was fourteen years old, Avora were looking towards her for her hunting ability, being able to shoot game right without it being too messy… but she refused every single one. So it was a matter that was taken into the youthmasters' hands. There was so much potential, and it would only go to waste if it wasn't put to use, but there were already others trying to find a bond with a Wind Eagle except for one, but nobody wanted to go near the poor Wind Eagle.

Unfortunately not even Azalia had managed to succeed... but despite it, her determination was strong. It would take time, she knew... but for now, another offer had come by to work under an Avora - this time from a friend of her fathers'. He had seen her potential ever since she was a child and watched as she grew... and once her fifteenth birthday came around, she had become part of that particular caste as a Hunter.
