This lazy agricultural settlement rests on the swampy shores of the Middle Suvan at the delta of The Kenash River. The River's slow moving bayou waters have bred a different sort of people - rugged, cultured, and somewhat violent. Sprawling plantations of tobacco and cotton grow on the outskirts of the swamp in the rich Cyphrus soils, while the city itself curls around the bayou and spawns decadence and sins of all sorts. Life is slower in Kenash, but the lack of pace is made up for in the excesses of food and flesh in a city where drinking, debauchery, gambling, slavery, and overbearing plantation families dominate the landscape.

Sweet Secrets

Image

Tucked against the shore of West Bank, Sweet Secrets sits high on stone pillars to stay above the fickle water line, with steps extending down from its entrance to the of squishy turf below. Roughly rectangular with a roof coming up in a shallow peak, the shop stands to be seen as rather small and unassuming and indeed the only thing that serves to set this shop apart from any other rough wooden structure in the area would be its squat wooden sign that sways on rusted iron links and creaks if the wind is particularly strong that day. In contrast however to the unadorned shop's exterior the sign has been thoroughly painted with warm reds and yellows, the brightest red being reserved for the stenciling of the shops name across both faces.

Inside, the shop takes a step away from the practicality of its exterior to provide some comfort for its patrons, whom most of which happen to be weary travelers, well worn from the road. Because of its typical visitors, two plush arm chairs dominate the shops center, their dark wood frame further emphasized by the dark leather that binds their cushioning to them. A arm rest high end table separates the two chairs by a small margin allowing for a modicum of privacy between patrons as well as a place to rest anything they might be looking at.

Not far behind the arm chairs is a narrow, waist high counter top, that typically has sewing needles and spools of thread strewn across its surface, as well as an unfinished garment or two. For the most part it is unadorned, and its wood matches the general hue of the walls. The room ends only a few paces behind the counter, with the rough wooden paneling of the shops back room, it's entrance framed by shelving on either side. Though the same color as the walls, the shelving is immediately noticeable as a finer quality, sanded down to smoothness so as to not get wooden bits in the fine fabric that is draped across it so to be readily accessible for showing to visitors. It should be noted that as it is a small shop, the only way to access the counter is by going around the armchairs, where there is enough space for a man and a half to get by without brushing against the wall.

For those entering the shop, one immediately notices the sharp smell of tobacco that hangs thick about the place, as well as the two well kept chairs that immediately draw the eye upon entering. Their backs dark leather backs to the door, one gets a fine view of their sturdy crafting as well as that of the end table between them, and from their eyes are drawn to the counter, from which the Favre, the shops proprietor is often first scene stirring to go and greet the new visitor. Whatever your clothing need, Favre is more than happy to help and supply or in some cases, search for your particular clothing request, but not before offering you a sampling of sweet tobacco to stuff your pipe or papers with, which he's willing to sell in small quantities from his stash behind the counter, if you have a taste for it. While most of the business he does is selling the various garments he stitches together, he particularly enjoys custom fittings, and garment modifications during which the patron are invited to take a seat in one of the comfortable armchairs while he details the various fabrics available, and shows off the designs he is currently working on.

Whatever your garment desire he is more than happy to fulfill it, and offer you pipeful of tobacco while you wait.
