A city floating in the center of a lake, Ravok is a place of dark beauty, romance and culture. Behind it all though is the presence of Rhysol, God of Evil and Betrayal. The city is controlled by The Black Sun, a religious organization devoted to Rhysol. [Lore]

This is friendship?

15th of Winter, 505

It was rainy, cold, and miserable, at least from Iskessah's point of view. The average citizen of Ravok might not mind the light drizzle and slight chill coming off the lake, but the Dhani's cold blood made her want to hibernate until spring. Unfortunately, there were people in Ravok who would notice and be displeased if she disappeared for a solid season, and her newly freed status was too precarious to risk angering them. So, all she could do was build up the fire and hope no one bothered her.

Knock knock knock.

Petch.

Iskessah slithered reluctantly off of the bed, shifting slowly into her human form as she went. Not bothering to put clothes on, she drowsily opened the door. The face that greeted her was at first cheerful, but at the sight of her it turned quite red, and after a few shocked and embarrassed moments recovered just enough to turn upwards and stare at the ceiling.

"Oh. You," Iskessah grumbled, turning away and shuffling toward the fireplace to put another log on, leaving the door open so her guest could enter. It was the young boy she'd met recently, the one who'd come searching for Angela. She had decided not to kill him then, and if she had to deal with him now she was going to need heat to be able to keep up with his mammalian energy.

Joshry entered the room, closing the door behind him and looking anywhere but at Iskessah. "Erm, shouldn't you put some clothes on?" he said, clearing his throat several times to get all the way through the question.

"Mm? Why?" Being unclothed seemed natural to her. She realized that if she were to go out into Ravok and mingle with its society, she would have to be clothed; she'd learned that much watching Mattieu and Angela, but she'd never worn them until recently, and saw no reason to put on such a disguise in the privacy of her home. After all, Joshry already knew she wasn't human.

Joshry stammered and struggled with his words, unsure how to explain the concept of modesty to someone who obviously was unconcerned about it. But the fact was, being an adolescent made it impossible for him to focus with a naked woman in the room. In his quest to find something else to stare at, his eyes found the thing in his hands, and he remembered part of the reason he'd come here.

"Um...uh...well, ,you get cold easily, right? And it's winter, so it's a little colder than usual, so clothes keep you warm, right? I--I brought you this," he said, shoving a plain leather jacket at her without looking in her direction. "Er...H-happy birthday!" he squeaked awkwardly.

She stared up at him blankly for a moment. The fire was burning again, but it would take a few chimes for it to fully warm the room. Slowly, Iskessah took the leather from him and tried to process his words. "Happy...what?"

If Joshry hadn't already been maxed out on embarrassment, he might have blushed. "Well, I didn't know when your birthday was..."

Birthday? The day of her birth? Well, she'd lost count of the years. Over a hundred at least, but as for the exact day, "I wassss born eleven daysss after the watchtower turned red." She frowned at the leather in her arms, but as she unfolded it, she saw how it worked. There were the arm-shaped holes. Joshry was right, she did feel a little warmer now. She shuffled around the room, finding a pair of trousers that she'd last left discarded on the floor. She put them on as well, much to Joshry's relief.
