The Wilderness of Cyphrus is an endless sea of tall grass that rolls just like the oceans themselves. Geysers kiss the sky with their steamy breath, and mysterious craters create microworlds all their own. But above all danger lives here in the tall grass in the form of fierce wild creatures; elegant serpents that swim through the land like whales through the ocean and fierce packs of glassbeaks that hunt in packs which are only kept at bay by fires. Traverse it carefully, with a guide if possible, for those that venture alone endanger themselves in countless ways.

Beasts in the grass

Bargon left the city of Endrykas to the sea of grass like he did many times before, but this time it was different. A pack of grass furred wolves was spotted in the sea of grass near Endrykas. I as a hunter of all monsters will kill these beasts and skin there hides. I don my armor in my bear form and head out to the endless land of swaying flora. I had no idea of these creatures sent and it has been a long time since i smelled a wolf, but a pack is always easy to follow and i pick up the sent after an hour of searching. The wolves were easy to track and as such i began talking to myself. "This is strange when you start pondering it. A wolf is a creature made for a cold, high altitude climate, but the sea of grass is low altitude and is warn most of the year. This begs the question of why would such a monster exist? It is not a creation of nature, and i would have guessed if it was a artificial being. Is it simply nature gone array?"

I would have continued my pondering, but a change in the sent had happened. The sent became more wary it seemed. Was it wary of me? Was it growing suspicious of my presence? I have known animals that are able to tell if something is following them and this is a pack of beasts. No that can't be any creature would have takin more than about three hours to find out they where being hunted. Unless these creatures where different somehow they already show they are different in looks could they also be different in biology? Only time would tell.

After nine hours of tracking the pack stopped and i was gaining ground on there location i would be among them in ten hours at the current rate of movement I'm enjoying. Could i set a trap for the beasts? No. Such an approach wouldn't work i would have to face the pack in direct combat using claw and tooth to fight the wolves. I would wager that there are anywhere from 5 to 16 members of this pack at the moment and that they are headed north.
