The difference in handwriting defines who is writing the page. The notebook is a thick, leather-bound book with an eagle engraved on the front and a series of swirls and loops scattered across the back cover. Winter Night

The stinging air,
Things creeping along,
Creatures brought into the light,
A voice, it rings
And a song someone sings,
Once upon a Winter Night

A stranger’s call
Down a moon lit hall

Shadow creatures,
Floating along,
Hiding from the light,
A voice, it rings
And a song someone sings,
Once upon a Winter Night

Far away, distant speech
I hear the mountains cry
Wind Reach calls
My heart falls
Once upon a Winter Night

A voice, it rings
And a song someone sings,
Once upon a Winter Night

Alia's Inspiration Notebook

Untitled

You've been roaming all these years
Wondering where the time has gone
Old and grey, stories show for all to see

Taking chances, giving your heart
Wishing on every shooting star
You gave until there was nothing left to give

We were the best of friends
Now we’re on opposite ends
An ocean of doubts bigger than the Suvan sea

I swear on my life
What I say, it isn’t lies
Why can’t you see
You don't know anything,

You stand in front of me
Old and grey, you've seen
Too many things for your age

Taking chances, giving your heart
Wishing on every shooting star
You gave until there was nothing left to give

You’ve been lost all these years
Wading through a river of tears
Bad memories, coming back to haunt you

I wish you would stay
Just listen to what I say
I promise what I said is true

The shadows swallow up my doubt
The fog muffles all my shouts
Why don't you see me as I run.

Taking chances, giving your heart
Wishing on every shooting star
You gave until there was nothing left to give

Path up to yesterday

You walked a path right up to yesterday
Filling your heart with regret
I wonder if you’re feeling the same way
Because my feelings have been set

But really, who am I
To go around leaving scars
Whats important isn’t brightness
It’s whats inside the star

You walked a path right up to yesterday
Making it hard to fall asleep
I wonder if you’re dreaming too, now
Because I’m getting tired
Tired of counting sheep

But really, who am I
To go around saying names
What’s important isn’t changing
It’s staying just the same

But really, who am I
To go around pointing blame
What’s important isn’t seeking
It’s finding why you came

As it seems

I’d really like to believe
These wonderful, crazy dreams
The ones where I hate to be awake

Chasing the dark away
Where the shadows stay

I always stare but no one believes me

The further you climb the harder you fall
It doesn't take long before there’s nothing left at all
Secrets hidden behind the waterfall

These monsters that haunt my dreams
They are not really as they seem
Maybe they are just worries in disguise

This is my mountain I must climb on my own
These are my fears that I need to face alone
Empty bottles and broken dreams
Everything is never as it seems

It’s funny that you still can’t see
I would laugh if it wasn’t so hard to breathe
Nothing ever changes on its own

Things may just look the same
But life may rearrange
If you give it just a little push

I never imagined I'd come so far
With my mind riddled with so many scars
I hope I'll never forget to stay awake

Dance Along

The world has it’s own tune
Why don’t you dance along
The stars and the sky
Sing the world’s song

The world is full of knowledge
But no one’s truly wise
I hope you get my message
See the world through my eyes

The world has it’s own tune
Why don’t you dance along
The stars and the sky
Sing the world’s song

Living in a war zone
Battered and bruised
I wish you didn’t have to stay
Your life unimproved

The world has it’s own tune
Why don’t you dance along
The stars and the sky
Sing the world’s song

Come and join me
Mizahar will dance along
The stars and the sky
Will let you sing their song

The Eagle and the Chicken

There once was a man who raised a bountiful number of chickens, day after day he would feed them, care for them, and collect their eggs. Day after day, the same thing.
But one day, the man grew tired of this routine, so he went out into the forests to find new adventures.

The man came across a lone nest that had fallen from its tree. It was full of large, perfect eggs that mystified the man. He stole one of the treasures and brought it back to his home.

When he got home he put the egg in with the chickens he kept in the yard. The mother hen, with her modest and kind nature, warmed the egg, calling it special not strange, so she atop this magnificent egg and couldn’t have been prouder.

Sure enough, some weeks later, from the egg emerged healthy egret, full of energy and light. And as is in the nature of chickens, they didn't balk at the stranger in their midst and raised the majestic bird as one of their own.
So the eagle grew up beside his chicken siblings. He learned to act like a chicken, speak like a chicken.

It believed resolutely and absolutely it was a chicken.
One day, late in its life, the eagle-who-thought-he-was-a-chicken happened to look up at the sky. High overhead, soaring majestically and effortlessly on the wind with scarcely a single beat of its powerful golden wings, was an eagle!

"What's that?!" cried the old eagle in awe. "It's magnificent! So much power and grace! It's beautiful!"

"That's an eagle” replied a nearby chicken, "That's the King of the Birds. It's a bird of the air... not for the likes of us. We’re only chickens, we're birds of the earth".

With that, they all cast their eyes downwards once more and continued digging in the dirt.
And so it was that the eagle lived and died a chicken... because that's all it believed itself to be.

Will The Circle Be Unbroken?

There are loved ones in the glory
Whose dear forms you often miss.
When you close your earthly story,
Will you join them in their bliss?

Will the circle be unbroken
By and by, by and by?
Is a better home awaiting
In the sky, in the sky?

In the joyous days of childhood
Oft they told of wondrous love
Pointed to the dying Saviour
Now they dwell with Him above.

Will the circle be unbroken
By and by, by and by?
Is a better home awaiting
In the sky, in the sky?

You remember songs of heaven
Which you sang with childish voice.
Do you love the hymns they taught you,
Or are songs of earth your choice?

Will the circle be unbroken
By and by, by and by?
Is a better home awaiting
In the sky, in the sky?

You can picture happy gathering
Round the fireside long ago,
And you think of tearful partings
When they left you here below.

Will the circle be unbroken
By and by, by and by?
Is a better home awaiting
In the sky, in the sky?

One by one their seats were emptied.
One by one they went away.
Now the family is parted.
Will it be complete one day?
