He took note of how invested the woman seemed in reading her tome. Her nice black hair tumbled over her face as she read. Her eyes jumped back and forth with such an intent. Beauty is simplicity.

"Good sir, the time of year and weather matters not. The act is what matters, and to answer to the reason...because one can never have too much knowledge. One can also ask; why even be out on such a cold day? Days like this tempt my desire to travel to warmer climates."

'What an intelligent one she is.' She kept looking up at him while she was talking but then back down to her book. Her deep blue eyes cut right through him. A person's eyes can speak a language of their own which is why Brom is more interested in someone's eyes than anything else they have. Money and power can have no power when it comes to someone's personality. They can't tell you how happy or sad someone is. Money and power only indicate status. Nothing more, nothing less.

"You are so young yet I can see the fire of knowledge burning inside you. But remember this. Knowledge is a person's most powerful tool but it is only a tool. It took me a great many years to realize that and great were the costs for my ignorance." Brom turned his head past the youngling, face tilted up at the sky, he closed his eyes. For a moment he got lost in his thoughts, drowning in the sea of his memories.

Snapping himself back into the present he spun around walking back out onto the street. His feet were getting cold thanks to the freezing street. Without looking back he said to the young lady, "I'm going to a tavern to find something to eat. Come along with me and we can continue this conversation. He didn't even look back to see if she was following him. Brom just liked surprises.

Oranges? They are okay.

Postby Raith Sciathoba on January 12th, 2014, 3:54 am

He had never understood how people worked, but this whole situation had taken an unexpected turn. Now standing there in the frigid air with his previous assaulters arms wrapped around him, he felt an odd mix of confusion and forgiveness. This girl seemed to be going to such odd lengths to right the situation.
Raith looked down at the girl he could see light golde curls hanging over her down turned face, and feel the warmth of her body pressed against his. She dropped her hands, making him once again conscious of the sticky mess that covered him. He decided to say something along the lines of "You realy shouldn's throw oranges", but as it so often does with him, something entirely different left his mouth. "you have one hell of an aim" Thinking upon this Raith began to think about food, particularly the food that he had a major lack of.

"I think you own me some food" yes, this seemed just the right thing to say in this situation. He was already mentally congratulating himself on his impeccable conversational skills. Now all he had to do was wait for her to lead the way. My he felt that he was getting good at this 'Talking to other people' thing

Oranges? They are okay.

Postby Rosalie Irvin on January 12th, 2014, 4:34 am

With a sigh she watched as the man left and she let out a calm sigh at the voice, " I try. "

Smiling again she never got a glimpse of his face but she would wait for that as soon as she caught a good fish to repay him, For being the shield against her father's cold glazed eyes." Of course. " She whispered, Feeling out of breath from the running and the fear and then she waved her hand for him to follow.

She stayed silent for now which was an odd thing for Rosalie to do. Most days she would talk for hours on end and most likely be curios as can be. Slowly walking down the cobble stone streets she slowly took off her hood as she could feel the earth shift slowly between stone to grass from beneath her boots. Now she was able to show her honest features. Her flawless complexion and her Kelvic caramel eyes.

Sighing as she walked in silence until after a bit of walking and shoving her way though the crowd the followed a path without any grass. There was a cabin up a head but she wasn't heading there just yet. Behind it there was a fast moving stream. Despite the cold it kept its fast pace waters flipping over and over.

On time a few minutes would pass then a small group fish would leap up then shoot right back under the cold water, Keeping their fresh blood pumping.

He followed her through the crushing throngs, he felt oppressed. People every where, clamouring and shoving this way and that. They all seemed wrapped up in their own little worlds. He bagan to wonder weather anybody here ever left this place. This was why he didn't come into the city to often, there was no beauty, no open space.

And thats when he saw where the girl was leading him. The space she had lead him was wonderful. There was a cabin, sturdy and comfortable looking. It sat in a grassy area and behind it was a stream, clear water rushing through it and teaming with fish, he imagined how easy it would be to soar down and catch one. But alas he was not sure he had the strength to change at the moment.

He than got a proper look at her. Surrounded by nature, she seemed more alive, more at home. He got a glance at her and saw light brown eyes that seemed to shimmer with life.

He tore his eyes away, needing to focus apon the more iminent problem. Now that the fruit was dried, it had taken on a sickly odour. He took off his shirt, and wandered over to the stream. He had never tried to catch fish before in his human form, and decided that this was as good a time as any to try. He saw a fish swimming towards where he stood, and jumped in at it, very much in the same way as when he flew down at something. Perhaps it would have worked too had it not been for his current inability to fly.

Finally she had just taken off her thick cloak. It was still freezing. She laid it out smoothly on the earth as not to damage it. As he took his shirt off she could face sworn she almost drooled but she needed to keep herself content. Shifting quickly she groaned which came out as a deep growl by accident. Her size was enormous and so were her long black ebony claws. With a thick brown coat she felt almost instantly warmer.

Rosalie came closer to the damp earth, Layered with the cold water and she sat down, This time she sat like bear. Her right hip was slightly to the side and her paws spread out as to keep her balance correctly. There was a light line of pink going down her spine that was undoubtedly a scar.

Watching him was amusing to her but she focused at the leaping fish. Slowly watching. Making sure to time her attacks perfectly. With another low tone she got back up and got even closer to the rushing waters. Now her head followed the movement of the fish.

Then, With a quick jerk she reached out and grabbed a rather large one. Throwing it to the side she attacked it quickly, Its flailing attempts to make it back into the water had failed.

Taking into account that somebody had to eat the fish she only bit the head. Sinking her large white teeth, staining them a crimson red. Sitting down once more she had to watch for yet another coordination. With a pink tongue she licked the blood from her muzzle and then finally with enough watching she was able to lean in and grab a close fish. Tossing this one to the side as well. Reacting quickly she caught this one in her jaws and clenched it tightly.

It gave a few flicks but then it stopped. This was her fish. Rosalie had almost forgotten who was beside her and went a head and figured he would need a cleaned fish so she ate her's whole then shifted back. Taking her arm she slowly wiped the blood from her mouth, " Do you want me to cook this for you? Or would you prefer it whole. " There was a tone of sarcasm within her question.

He resurfaced with a splutter. Freezing water cascading down his face, he waded to the bank where the girl was sitting. No not a girl a bear. An immense beast, it towered above him, even from it's sitting position. At first he was taken aback, but than he met its gaze, and saw the light brown eyes he had been so fascinated with earlier. A shiver ran down his spine from the cold, and upon closer inspection he discovered two fish lying nearby. It seems that her efforts where more fruitful.

A soft grumble came from the girl. " Do you want me to cook this for you? Or would you prefer it whole. " and to his surprise he found himself chuckling. This day was getting more mysterious by the moment. As he walked over, he grabbed one of the fish and raised it up to his nose. It smelled delectable. He opened his mouth and took a large bite out of its soft fleshy belly. With an enormous amount of self control, he ate it slowly. Savouring every bite.

With his hunger sated, he felt that he could change again; so he let himself slide into his other form. For a Falcon he was large, his talons digging into the permafrost he shivered. With a great shake he puffed up his feathers so as to keep himself warm. He drew his large yellow eyes up to meet the girls. "I would like to know two things. What is your name, and how did you go about getting such a scar."

Rosalie figured he was freezing, so she offered him her cloak as he ate the fish without any preparation, " I'll take that as a no then. " Smiling lightly. Once he shifted she knew immediately he was Kelivc. She should have known from the start but she was still getting used to the image of some Kelvics.

Instead of giving him the cloak she threw it around her shoulders and began to walk towards her cabin,
" Rosalie, Rosalie Irvin. What is yours? " Before she hesitated in answering him she managed to dodge it respectively.

" What about your scar? "
Of course Rosalie didn't want to answer that question. Why would she? It caused a large amount of stress and even if he pried she wouldn't tell him.

She made a quaint gesture to his shoulder and then she kept tossed her hair slightly back and crossed her arms and looked around the area to make sure everything for now was calm.

He hopped after her as she headed towards her cabin. "Im Raith". He trained his eyes on her, waiting for a second answer. It didn't come. Instead she gestured towards his shoulder. Taking this as a question, he answered it in turn. "Got in a fight with an eagle Kelvic." His voice darkened with his next words, "yes, my mother hated my very existence, the scar is proof of that." He looked at her, wondering if her scar had anything to do with her own parents. Well if this was a subject she would not broach, than so be it.

The air had been getting colder, and with the frost biting his legs, he longed to be in the sky and hunting. Than he had a thought. Nervious a first, he eventualy got out the sentence. " If you would like to go hunting some time, I know some good areas." With that, he began to spread his wings.

Oranges? They are okay.

She decided to listen and not speak up. Nodding at his words finally he asked a question and she turned to him, " I'd love to. " For her answer it came out smoothly, Smother than she thought. An eerie silence haunted the conversation for a few more steps then she blurted out, " I may have some clothes that could fit you. " Finally she opened the cabin door. It was locked. Sighing she put her head on the door and walked off the small path and looked up. It was on the second floor, Her bedroom window.

" Just give me a minute. "

Shifting she shivered off the cloak that was laid loosely over her neck. Slowly she found it would be harder to scale it virtually and decided to go up a tree, then over. A very large tree branch was almost connected to her roof so she bounded lazily over to it. Digging her claws into the cold bark she wrapped her large brown arms around the tree and began to shimmer her way up the tree in short jumps.

Finally she had reached the branch. Rosalie in her brown bear form on the small slim branch wouldn't be able to sustain her weight so she shifted back into her human form. Scrambling to her feet she followed it slowly, One foot in front of the other until she got to the point where she would have to jump onto the roof.

It wasn't that far of the jump and she could do it without a problem. And so she did. With a long leap she landed onto the roof, Grabbing the top of it and the getting back onto her feet. Her boots didn't have good traction as she noticed while she sat down, Slowly prying to window up and one foot slipped.

Crawling into the window she hit the floor with a groan and then got back up. While she ached slightly on the lost platform she twisted her waist and grabbed the glass, Pulling it back into the latch and closing it. Her home was by far much warmer than before. Skipping a few latter steps down to the first floor she almost didn't want to open the door to let Raith in, Mainly because it was so cold outside.

Jogging over to the door she unlocked the latch and stood behind the door, A cold breeze blew in and so poked her head out,
" Hurry, You are letting the cold air in. "

Oranges? They are okay.

Postby Juro Eowyien on January 13th, 2014, 12:01 am

That line caught Juro's interest, the part about knowledge only being a tool. True, she realized it was just that, but the pen was always mightier than the sword. For her, brains always beat brawn. But hey, she got a compliment, and that was always nice. Anyone always had a wee bit of shallowness to them, and for her it was a simple ego being bolstered. She is smart, she does have plenty of knowledge. Her eyes showed this also, perking up at a simple compliment, as well as her body gesture as she looked back to him as he said such.

Juro also took note of Brom's short moment of introspection, how he glanced to the cloudy and dreary sky and closed his eyes. She pondered his other sentence, how he seemed to imply that even with a most powerful tool, he was still ignorant. She couldn't find what poetic meaning the words carried; how could someone be ignorant and full of knowledge? She couldn't figure that part out. She couldn't figure out a lot things that people say, really. Reason being, she was always a sheltered child, and by choice. She is still mostly sheltered, in as far as interaction with others go.

Alas, Juro was aware of this and then promptly wondered what other nuggets of wisdom this man could drop her way. A moment or two after Brom walked away, she decided to take him up on the offer. Closing the tome with an audible snap fitting it into her robe pocket, she then leaned off the wall and made her way to catch up to him. She slinked through the others on the street like a serpent, avoiding even bumping shoulders with other people...she was just rather anti-social like that. In a minute she caught up to him and proceeded to match his stride to his right.

"Sir, what is your name...?"
"We judge ourselves by our own intent, but we judge others by their actions."
