James is of average height and build, arms got a little muscle tone. He has lost a lot of weight over winter looking very thin. His hair is black and eyes a piercing blue, often gazing at the world with a curious look in them, trying to suck in every sight, every detail. His jaw is strong looking, cheeks bones are high and well defined. He sports a simple black goatee, that is usually well kept, but depends much on circumstances.
His body has been ravaged by the time of the seasons and by the cruelty of man and inferior races. The tip of his right little finger is missing. His right arm got a long narrow scar that often branches out and ends abruptly as the stem continues down the length of his upper arm, often branching off a dozen times down the stem. His back has many scars from his time on a navy vessel from punishments. Right thigh got a narrow elongated scar that still hurts sometimes when it gets really cold and causes him to drag his leg in cold weather.
Character ConceptJames does not believe in free will. He considers the concept itself laughable and thus does not even consider his own actions a product from his own will. Because of this he has a strange distanced relationship to himself and the world he interacts with. Feeling disconnected to everyone and everything. Because of this he rarely dwells on the past or cares much about petty things like gold or items.
What he craves is much different.
As his history indicates, James has a problem keeping his attention on any one thing for an extended period of time. He grows easily bored of the daily routine and his attention dissappears. Seeking something fresh and exciting. James gets jealous quickly, craving and demanding what others possess. Their love. Their attention. Everything they are in both body and spirit.
James is a human supremacist by his upbringing. Thinking all non-humans inferior by design and their position in life is to serve humanity and regards them with contempt if not outright hostility. It varies from race to race, but Zith, Akalak and Konti got it worst. Zith because they're monsters and Konti and Akalak because he considers them parasites, draining from humanity to keep their abysmal race alive for another day.
ReligionNone. The gods are subject to the same laws as the mortal beings – their fate has been determined as well. There is only Lhex, but worshipping fate is about as useless as an Akvatari out of the ocean... Well, an Akvatari in general.
Character HistoryJames had a large family once. But the rough life in Sunberth and Mizahar led to it being demolished over time. People died from hunger, others from accidents. Some were taken in the night never to be seen again. James and his twin sister once vanished into the wilderness only for James to reappear days later with no recollection of what happened. His father strangled a newborn baby brother because it could shift between rat and human shape. His father called him a Kelvic and that was enough reason to strangle him.
His father was terrible mage who botched half his attempts at magic and the other half slowly tore away any connection to the real world. Leaving nothing but a husk behind in the final days of his life. He initiated James and the older brother into magic through their lives. Teaching them the art. James had a fear of magic, having seen what it had done to his father. How it corroded him away mentally and physically each time he either used magic or morphed parts of himself. He trained the boys in morphing, a useful art, but ultimately self-devastating. This caused neither alarm nor ill will from either of the children, it was rather exciting for them. But the father did two things that pushed James over the edge. First the way he initiated the two brethren into Voiding made James lose the remaining attachment he had with his family. The forceful way he initiated him into reimancy had James fleeing to the first ship the carried him away from Sunberth. He visited the many cities of the world as he found work in many different areas. As a hunter, a scholar, a highwayman, a trapmaker, an apprentice shoemaker, a drunk, a deckhand, apprentice antidote-crafter, servant, cup-bearer, a tracker, a writer, a mercenary, a baker, a cake-decorater- but after years in many different jobs, different cities, but Zeltiva and the center of knowledge the university provided always drew him nearer. Even with a disgusting large amount of inferior races settling the city, he could comfortably ignore those people by sticking his nose into the books.
These studies led to a simple discovery that changed everything to him. Warped his view on the world and gave him a sense of utter and complete freedom.
There was a god of fate.
The guilt, morality and uncertainty that had bothered him for years slowly vanished as he spent the better part of the next half season drinking until his mind was gone.
Back home to Sunberth he went.

Heirloom: Silver signet ring. The signet is a hand against the silver background. Though years of use has left the hand black against the silver background. The ring was taken before fleeing home. Very old piece of jewelry that has passed down the mother's side of the family until the male line died out and she inherited the ring. Taken by James to pawn as he travelled. For some reason he never got rid of it and has been on his left ring finger for so long that he can remember.
