day 40, Fall, 513 AV It was midnight.Even this late at night, where most of people would normally be asleep, there was still one who didn't.It wasn't because she was nocturnal. And it wasn't because she wanted to stay awake either. It was simply because she was unable to feel the need of sleep. And so, she could not help but explore. She knew there was danger in Ravok, thugs, thieves and such. She knew it wasn't uncommon for them to rob people. The mysterious being would grimace at the darkness. She remembered it all too well about the thugs of Ravok, in fact, it was one of them who killed her.She could remember it like it was yesterday. "these pigs shouldn't be allowed to live" she said with a sigh, as she continued exploring Ravok. She looked exactly like how she did when she was alive, except for a nasty scar on her neck. One injury that she would never forget, no matter how long she spent in the unlife was the one who gave her the pain of death. her name...her name was one of the few things she could truly remember about her life, but yet, it felt vague. It felt like she wasn't herself anymore, as she was completely different in mind. She had a desire for revenge, but yet, she had a desire even more important: to make her parents' proud. She did nothing but to ignore what her parents taught her, but she knew it very well: if she listened to them, she would be someone better. She would make her parents proud. She simply looked at the sky, as she once again attempted to think up for a new name, for a new identity and a new beginning. "Mea...Gui....so many names to choose" she said, absently-minded.She felt like it was the most important decision in her whole existence, after all it is the name she would keep for many, many years. She soon began to get sidetracked again, unsure what she would do now to make her parents proud. Was teaching her knowledge all that they wanted?Or she had a greater purpose to them?Or maybe they just wanted her to be happy. The woman smiled as she began to day dream about her life one more time. She didn't had to worry about bandits anymore. She didn't had to worry about anything, except her goals. She did not know what she needed to do to achieve true happiness. But yet, she knew that letting go was something she could not do.It just didn't feel right to let all of her parents' efforts go to waste, and it felt even more wrong to continue acting like she did before. She closed her eyes, as she began to think of the new names to choose from another time. "Gui..Mea..." she said, surprising herself at how nice the name sounded. "Gui mea." she repeated to herself. "Gui mea!" she said cheerfully, deciding to keep the name for herself."From now on, I'm gui mea!" she said, proud of her decision. "My name is Gui mea, and my goal is to make mommy and daddy proud!" she shouted...and then suddenly she realized how embarrassing it sounded like, and looked down to the ground in shame...only to realize she was hovering, right over the water. Her eyes opened wide as she saw that. She heard that ghosts could float, but she didn't notice she was doing it. she remembered how ghosts are normally hated by the others. She decided to try to get away without doing any noise, and as fast as she could. She began to blink, each time farther than her original location, but never blinking more than 10ft of distance. She stopped after a few times, only realizing another ghost power:blinking. For her, it felt almost as simple as walking, but yet she knew it would surprise other people. She smiled a bit, the power going a bit over her head as she decided to try her other ghostly powers. She had only heard of the telekinesis-like power that ghosts had, and also the power of possession, and the ability to become a mortal...but before any of that, she needed something.Something simple and light that she could try it on. and so, she decided to go to the ruins of her home, but...it might take a while to get there. And she knew she might be spotted along the way. On her way towards the ruins of the place she once called a house, though, she saw a pair of thugs on a small boat, heading towards the same direction Gui mea was going to.Upon closer inspection, though, she could see them holding someone as a hostage.A young woman.the victim was tied up, completely helpless...but tears of shame and fear were forming on her face. The two looked like they were planning to get the victim's parents to pay a fee for the woman to be released, but they were also planning to take advantage of the hostage before that. This filled Gui mea with anger, as she walked closer and closer, floating right above the water. As she got closer...she realized they were also the ones who kidnapped, and killed her! A psychotic grin appeared on her face. She was not herself now.She knew that, because she would never feel this amount of anger before in her life. She did quick bursts of blinking towards the ship, not even bothering to hide herself as she got there. "Do you remember me!?" She said, her voice echoing. The bandits nearly jumped in surprise, since they didn't think anyone was awake at this time of the night. They drew their daggers, turning to Gui mea. They were expecting a self-proclaimed hero, but for their surprise, it was their victim. She came back, scarier than ever. "Do you remember me!?the one you killed?!and the one who'll kill you!?" She shouted, making the thugs back away. One of them even jumped off the boat, trying to swim away from the ghost, while the others were paralysed in fear, shaking, barely being able to hold their weapons.Gui mea took advantage of this, and used her soulmist almost on instinct, to try to push the daggers into the bandit's neck. Though...the bandit was able to fight back, angry at the ghost. "Did you really think that would work!?" he shouted, in anger as she attempted to stab Gui mea...only to have the dagger go through her. She was still angry at the bandits,as she continued trying to at least do some damage on them with her soulmist, barely being able to do anything but slow their movements though. But she then noticed something...the dagger of the bandit that fled.He dropped it.She made a tendril go out from her back, and into the dagger, pulling it to her hand, and before the bandit could react, she stabbed on his belly. The dagger had pierced his chest, and even making a cut on his heart. After a few seconds, Gui mea pulled the dagger away, and began to stab the bandit over and over, to make sure he would be dead...and also to satisfy her inner desires of revenge. After a minute or two of stabbing, she finally decided to leave the bandit alone, as she turned to the helpless woman. She cut the ropes...though she was rather awkward at it, making a small cut on the woman's skin "Oops, sorry about that" the ghost said, feeling no guilt at all from killing the thug. After all, he did kill her before...though...it couldn't be said the same to the woman. She looked rather scared. "Please...make it quick." was all that the woman said,as she closed her eyes, waiting for her death. But her death never came. She waited, and waited...but it didn't come.No pain at all.She slowly opened her eyes, looking to Gui mea."You...you won't kill me?" she asked [color=#BF00FF]"Nope, I was saving you, you dummy." The ghost giggled, as she slowly began to float away, back towards the ruins of her home, only to be interrupted by the woman. "Wait! You don't want anything from me?Nothing at all?" she said, as if she wanted Gui mea to give her more attention...or at least to guide her back to her parents. "No.I was just killing the bandits.I want nothing to do with you..." Gui mea said, as she wandered back to her home. She did feel sorry for the woman...but she was interrupted yet again by her."I live in a green house next to the docks!Visit me when you have the time!" the woman shouted, but Gui mea paid no attention. After a few minutes of walking, she got to the ruins of what she once called home...though it was destroyed.Nothing remained from it.Gui mea began to cry, as she looked the little that remained, even using her soulmist to try to find anything that was still intact. But there was nothing...nothing but a small, golden pendant, and the money her parents had. |
note to the mods: the money she found, and her golden pendant are part of he starting package.I just thought it would be nice to have a story behind that.
