Day 66, Winter, 513 AV

It was a beautiful morning in Ravok. Eiri was woken up by the chirp of some birds and realized she still sat at her chair, hand holding a brush. She had stayed up late last night and her room was very untidy because she had forgotten to clean it. Canvas were everywhere, some were even torn. There were tubes of paint pigment on the floor, a few brushes laying here and there. Smiling to herself, she opened the window which showed the scenery outside. The window squeaked loudly and the room was bathed in a pure and warm honey light.

She slowly walked out to the light-filled balcony and breathed in. It was snowing. Thousand of pristine snow flakes were nipping at her face, gently biting her nose with sharp icy teeth. Eiri closed her eyes. A fog of white mist escaped her lip, veiled her face, lingered around her neck then melted like cotton candy on the tongue. Ravok was just like other days.

After having a full sleep, her mind had become clear. Leaning on the balcony, she slowly had a chew at her bread, enjoying the crispy air. It had been a month since she first came here and found a job as an artist in Ravok. It didn't take a lot of time to figure out the job that she wanted to have. Painting was something she loved when she was young. She used to paint a lot, from blue pumpkins to flying horses. There had been gods and goddess, kings and queens, all nice and pretty thing one could only see in fairy tales. She used to look out from the window in a cold night and imagine what the world would look like with mysterious beasts, singing candles and talking rabbits. The passion inside made her drawing and painting all day without wiping the smudge of colorful pigment off her cheek. And now, she decided to continue when she reached the age of eighteen when she's in need of a job.

After finishing her breakfast, Eiri began to pick up the trash and clean the room. Then, she took out a blank canva from her backpack and silently stared at it. The canva's surface was smooth under her finger. Today, she decided to go out to find subject for her painting. Since she came here, Eiri mainly painted the room and the furniture. She soon ran out of ideas and longed for something new. Ravok itself was an interesting place to paint. After changing her clothes, she reached for her backpack and stepped outside in hope of finding a good subject for her painting.

[Job Thread] Of Dark Crimson And White Snow.

The streets and alleyways of Ravok was merciless, whether by day or by night. There were shadows lurking in every corner, waiting for the perfect change to strike a fatal blow at the poor victims with its cold, black claw. Although Eiri was a citizen of Ravok, she thought it's still better to ignore the alleyways because she was without a weapon and just carried a backpack with her. In the backpack, there was a canva, some brushes, and other things she used to paint with. The things that usually kept in the backpack was temporarily left at the inn. Making sure that her face is covered so no one could indentify her, she walked faster and blended herself with the mass of people outside.

It's around bell 8 by that time and the shine was shining brightly throughout the city like glistening gold. It had stopped snowing but the air was still cold. Despite having the thick layer of the cloak wrapping around her body, the chilling air still found a way to get through the material and soaked her to the core with icy chains. Because of the cold, her finger was all stiff and sore. Eiri tried to rub her finger together in hope of warming theme a little while looking around. Suddenly, a man from a allayway ran out and bumped into Eiri. She staggered back a few steps and her back bumped into another man in a crowd.

"Sorry, I was careless", she said to the man and received a nod in return. After that, the man turned his back and continued to cheer loudly.
By then, she noticed that the crowd gathered together to watch a fight. In the middle of the crowd were three people, two men and a woman. The first man was wearing a blue top, hand holding a bottle of wine, while the other hand strangling the second man. The other man was trying to break free from the tight grasp wrapping aroung his neck of the first man. They somehow looked alike.

"How dare you stole from me?!", the blue top man shouted in a angry voice and smashed the bottle into the wall.

"No, Aldy! He is your brother!", begged the woman," Please don't hurt him!"

Eiri now paid attention to the woman. The woman was kneeling nest to the first man, hand clutching at the man's shirt. She is a young woman and is pregnant.

The man called Aldy gritted his teeth:" Shut up! He's no brother to me. He is just a spoiled and useless bastard!"
Between Aldy's hiccup, he pressed the bottle to the second man's face. Sharp broken fragments cut into his skin, droplets of blood fell from his face, hitting the cobbled-stone road in dark crimson stains, dyeing the snow red.

He groaned in agony and bit Aldy's arm. The second man shouted out and released him.

"You...", he muttered. Aldy then started to swing his bottle at the second man continuously. The crowd cheered even loudlier.

"No, stop! Someone, stop him!" The woman continued to beg but no one stepped out.

The man who was bump into by Eiri a while ago whispered to a fat woman next to him: "These brother has been fighting and shouting at each other for an hour."

The fat woman answered with a nod: " It seems like they are fighting because of the stolen money."
"I wonder how this would end up. Most of the fights in Ravok often end quickly though."

Between the cheering, a man accidently pushing the artist out and she had to leave the crowd, eyes didn't leave the woman.
