Sei exited the main gates and decided to take a run. He started to sprint through the mountains. He let his dagger dangle helplessly at his side, the sheath keeping it attached to his person. He let his cloak ripple in the wind be hind him as he ran through the snow. He zipped through the trees, zigzaging along the way to avoid crashing. It was nice to feel the cold, harsh winds smack against his face. His leather boots sank deep into the snow, his leather armor preventing his body from freezing.

Sei enjoyed winter, especially running through the snow. He had always liked the feeling of winter winds ruffling his fur, but it wasn't as fun in his human state, he still liked the feeling none the less. He jumped in the air, but continued to run. The Kelvic was enjoying himself until one boot went deeper than the other and he tripped. His arms instinctively went out to break his fall, and he pushed himself off the ground. He wiped off the snow, and looked around.

He was in a small clearing, deep within the Bronze Woods if he was correct. Sei drew his dagger and decided he would train here since that was the reason he had come. He drew the dagger back, and shoved it foward. He made an open slash across his frontal vision. He held the dagger above his waistline at all times, remembering Gerard Anthonius's words. Thanks to Gerard, he knew how to grip almost all his weapons properly. The Kelvic drew back the dagger again, and made a heavy thrust.

Sei withdrew the dagger and tried again. The Kelvic had to admit, he was pretty fast. Just what I need, speed with no power. He groaned and gripped the dagger more roughly before relaxing his hold. Gotta calm down. He shot the dagger forward, striking the tree with all the strength he could muster. He tilted the blade at the last moment so that it would at least make a small incision. He withdrew his dagger to inspect his work. There was a very small cut in the wood, but as stated it was very small.

The Kelvic struck out with the dagger again, the tip of the blade dug into the tree just a bit causing vibration upon impact. Sei's arm began to spasm and he automatically dropped the dagger on the ground to clutch it. He shook out his arm before grabbing the dagger again. Drawing back the dagger and thrusting it forward, making sure to keep his grip steady. He drew back, and looked at the tree.

There were more cuts, but the weren't in the slightest bit deep. The Kelvic let out a foul string of swears and struck the tree again. He was trying his best to improve, but he was also trying to do it solo. He could tell he was improving, but it would take awhile to get good at it. Sei sighed and continued his training.

[Cobalt Mountains] A Day in The Mountains

Sei drew back the dagger and changed his grip. He had learned from Gerard that if he had a proper grip, no matter what happened he wouldn't have to drop the blade being used. He grip was tight, but no where his hands would be sweaty. He thrust forward with the dagger, but slowed just as he was about to strike to minimize the reverberation from the the thrust. But won't that affect the power..? The Kelvic thought about it, deciding it was better to feel the pain. He drew the dagger back again, putting the hilt edge in line with his back, and threw his arm forward. His hand was shakey, but he was working on that as well.

Sei withdrew the blade, and slashed at the tree as if to cut it in two. Not the best performance, but it would have to do for the moment. The Kelvic lips played his signature smirk, and he slashed violently at the tree with shakey hands. No good, I've gotta try harder. He was trying his best, but it still wasn't good enough. Now it was time to push past his limitations and train like never before. He position the seven inch dagger at his side and made a heavy thrust. He made sure to twist his torso to put extra power into his strike.

Sei shook out his arm after withdrawing the blade. My arm is getting tired. He shook out his arm again, and continued to use it as well. Hopefully he could remember all his lessons. The Kelvic hacked at the tree again, somehow managing to drop his dagger in the process. He lifted the blade from the ground and sheathed it. I could keep going, but at the current time it's a waste of time. He readied himself in front of the tree, and took up an offensive stance.

Sei wasn't wearing anytging to protect his hands, but that was the point. Without them on, he might actually toughen them up by hitting things. He would be gentle with his hands, but only to insure a long training day. He put up his fists, stepped forward with his left foot while twisting his torso slightly to the right, and delivered an unstable punch with his right hand. As soon as his fist crushed against the tree, he withdrew it. It was painfull yes, but there were no broken bones. At least not yet. He switched hands and repeated the process. He could tell he was most powerful with his right, but that didn't make it any easier. He could also tell that his punches were raw power with no control or stability. In short, he was an a weak little novice with no grip on basic control.

It ticked him off a bit that he couldn't handle a series of his own attacks. His balance was all over the place, but he had the power and speed. His hunting trips were his reminders, but punching wasn't as easy as it looks. Or maybe I'm just being paranoid That was one way of thinking. He turned to deliver a shafp kick to the tree, hooking the top of his foot on the tree before he drew back. He was having more difficulties with punching than kicking, so he should have focused on that.

Sei threw a lazy punch with his left, withdrawing his fist seconds later to let the pain in his knuckles subside. He did the same with his right, and continued his exercise for a while before his arms got tired. He let his arms fall to his sides and let out a sigh. He used one hand to rub his knuckles, but would refocus soon to start again.

The Kelvic was going to learn, even if it killed him.

Notes
Sei, there’s a fair bit of distance between the castle gates and the mountains. A novice isn’t going to be able to run straight there. Much improved detail on the dagger work, I appreciate that. :) let me know if you have any questions/comments/concerns. Please edit your request in the grade queue to reflect its completion.
