Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

The Cora Apartments

In the third tier of the cliff, sits a squat, long building close to the shore line. While it has a clear central area, several wings have been built off of it at odd angles, with an old fountain in the gravel courtyard, an irregular fenced-off grassy area at one end, a tiled patio at another, with at least two sections of the roof clearly newer and of different material. The interior is lined with small apartments, which are pre-furnished with comfortable, but economy-class furniture.

This is Cora Apartments, and while it may not be the fanciest place to stay in Riverfall, it’s affordable and has a strong community of working-class residents. There is no formal superintendent, but neighbors are often happy to help one another. The patio area is often noisy during the day, as an informal daycare is run for residents, but the ambience is quiet once the sun goes down.

If one were to enter the main entrance, they would come to a main receiving area with worn rugs and faded paintings. Hallways and rooms extend off in all directions, with the landlord’s office in one corner, the kitchen and dining area in another, the west wing in one direction, the east wing in another, and a narrow hallway leading towards storage, and the grassy area.

The east and west wings are lined with the small apartments, only a couple having their own doors to the outside. At the far end of the west wing is the patio, where daycare and tenant meetings are held. At the far end of the east wing is a small roofed patio, with a few creaking chairs for common use.

The narrow hallway is lined with closets of varying size, eventually leading out to a roofed but open storage area, which in turn leads to the grassy area. This area is also frequented by the daycare group, and has swings, sandboxes, and various second hand playthings about.

Dinner is served in the main area every day, which is always hearty, but occasionally unpleasant, as there’s no full time cook.

Image Name: Fiskari Cora
Race: Human
DoB: Spring 89th, 470AV (Age 42)
PoB: Syliras
Title: Landlord
Skills: Hostessing 51, Weapon: Shortbow 30, Cooking 12
Gnosis: None
Additional Info:Fiskari’s family left Syliras when she was a child, so her father could learn weaponsmithing from the Akalaks in Riverfall. Her father and sister were killed by a Glassbeak raid on the road to Riverfall, leaving Fiskari and her mother to fend for themselves when they got to the city. Seeking immediate financial security, Fiskari’s mother procured the dilapidated building that would become Cora Apartments, and through some clever haggling, got the repairs done for a fraction of the cost, and managed to keep the business in the black ever since.

Her mother left Riverfall on a boat to Syka, to find better deals on furniture in Summer 512AV. Fiskari has yet to hear back from her, and while she refuses to publicly acknowledge the possibility of her mother’s death, or worse, desertion, her mother remains a very touchy subject.

She runs the Apartments with a hard hand, and always has a harried look about her. Residents who are delinquent on their payments are immediately asked to leave, and Fiskari will not hesitate to call the Kuvay’nas to throw personal effects out onto the street if she has to. For those who are on-time with their payments, Fiskari can be a stubborn, but caring woman who may claim not to have time to listen to a problem, but will always grudgingly help if she can.
