Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

The job of the the Kuvay'Nas ranged through the day and the night, and at some point in time, each member had to work night duty. Riaris had slept the earlier part of the day so that he would be ready for the night out. The Aklaka started his evening with a workout before heading in to his job. While normally, he would spend his mornings working out, having taken such a long nap, he decided to get in a second workout while he still had the energy. Night detail was rarely busy and he figured that this was the most that he would get done physically.

It was an exciting time in his life, but the night was already fated to be a bore. Pale eyes of blue stared intensely ahead, he breathed in and out, counting as he pushed up. His limbs tighten, sweat poured over the amethyst-like flesh at his back, which highlighted his muscular frame . His meaty hands were placed flat on the floor, fingers spread wide, and his legs were clinched together at the ankles. He steadied his pace, being sure not to out do himself early and cause a lost of count, or at least a slower one.

Riaris pushed up for the count, then lowered himself back down again, while keeping his weight balanced so that his body never touched the floor below him. The violet Akalak continued this until he reached his limit of 200 and stopped. He could take a break, and then go on to do another set of a different type before he was done for the day. Afterwards, Riaris dressed, left his home and headed to the lodge to find out where his patrol would be for the night.

He was surprised to find that he was assigned to patrol just outside the walls. It would be a first for him, and although it wasn't for a very long amount of time, it would surely be new. The hulking, violet man dressed in a big coat, armed himself with his lakan and strapped his two-bladed sword over his back and headed out for a night of work.

Riaris made simple and steady steps as he headed towards the gates. He was likely taking the post from another who was just about to get off. Once he was out, it wasn't likely to be an adventurous night and he doubted he'd find much in the way of action. Travelers, and the people from the city normally weren't as busy during the night as they were the day. Cerulean possibly, but they wouldn't be close to the gates. On a good day he would spot a glassbeak or maybe even a Zith. Such an encounter would surly make for a grand tale to take back to the Kuvay'Nas Lodge, but not at night.

Suddenly, he heard a commotion as he reached the gates, and while it sounded more like an Akalak looking for a date the scene itself was very different. There was a human male harassing a young Konti. The mere sight of this caused a frown to form on the lips of the Akalak. Konti women were precious, especially to him. Two of the women who meant the most to him in the world were both Konti. The Kuvay'Nas would never stand for anyone being treated this way, and neither would Riaris.

"How dare he..."

The mammoth of a violet man stormed over and quickly grabbed the man's shoulder and spun him around. The moment that his hand touched the flesh of the human, the gnosis of Krysus started to burn within the skin of Riaris as he cursed the male with her touch. From this moment on, at least for a time, any attack, be it fist or blade would harm the human twice as much as it normally would.

"What's going on here?" he asked glancing at the young Akalak. "It's doesn't appear that the woman wants anything to do with you, so perhaps you would be better suited to move alone."
