Physical Description
Standing 7'3" and weighing 264 pounds, Garis is a large Akalak. His skin is an deep midnight blue, which can appear to be almost black unless in direct sunlight. He has a pair of small, acutely pointed ears which are tall enough to be nearly level with the top of his head. His hair is kept very, very short, not even a fingernail's length at most. Garis' eyes are a light, icy blue, which stand out starkly from his dark skin tone.
Character Concept
Garis is quiet, even for an Akalak, due to the realization of the uneasy balance between his Light and Dark Brothers. He practices meditation daily, in order to achieve a more peaceful balance; he is easy to annoy or agitate, which causes his Dark Brother to take control and go on a bloody rampage. Garis starkly refuses to become attached to any person, Akalak or not, due to the years of mourning he suffered after taking his own mother's life.
Character History
Garis was a restless child, often becoming impatient and destructive in his impatience. When he was 15, Garis underwent the Rite of Trial, and killed his first Glassbeak, as well as receiving his Lakan. Garis chose to study weapons and unarmed combat under the males in his House, as well as learning of plants and herbs from his Konti mother.
Later, on his Rite of Manhood, Garis hunted and slew a Zith with a pair of other Akalak. Shortly before his 32nd birthday, Garis was pressured by his parents to seek a contract for a mate. During one discussion, Garis' Dark Brother overwhelmed him, and in a fit of unchecked rage, Garis killed his mother and crippled his father.
Following the incident, Garis left his House to begin his own, and to distance himself from harming them further. Since then, Garis has yet to actively pursue finding a mate, and has instead actively secluded himself from mainstream society. He has devoted countless hours to meditation, and practicing combat (both with Lakan and unarmed). More often than not, Garis isn't even in Riverfall, but instead on extended forays into the surrounding wilderness.
