Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

[The Sanctuary] Lost Among The Web

Thread Title
13th of Winter 513AV | Two Days From The Sanctuary

Isabelle had decided to stay from the Moving City and head in the direction of the tribal blue men. Sure she could’ve stayed with her people and further learned her place in the whole scheme of things... Or she could strike out on her own, across the flowing grasses in search of her own legacy to fulfill. Syna had graced the chilling winds with her kiss, warming them only slightly as horse and rider made their way through the plains.

There was a heavy blanket already of snow, even though it was early in the season, Isabelle and Wildfire found themselves plowing through it with the grace only a steadfast Strider and Drykas could have. Isabelle’s form could be seen leaning forward and down slightly as she busied a hand with trying to remove something from a yvas hook. The swaying tail of a long coil of rope was her reaching hand’s goal, but each movement of horse and rider swung it out of reach. “Petch.” The young rider cursed out loud, there wasn’t a soul around her physically anyway, that could reprimand her foul language.

It took a few ticks longer but finally Isabelle got the rope’s swinging manner down and her hand snatched the rope as it reached closest to her hand. Sitting up straight she patted Wildfire’s neck, “Keep moving my friend.” A smile graced Isabelle’s face as she slowly unraveled the rope and tied it first around her waist and around the Yvas’ handgrip.

A pause in her motions and she untwined it from her yvas and her waist, slowing the Strider to a stop Isabelle dropped down and brought the rope around the girth of her horse’s body. A nod in satisfaction and she climbed back abroad the horse’s back, wrapping the rope around her waist once more before placing both hands on the handgrip before her once again, tying her windmarked hand to the handgrip, her other hand remained free so she could do what she needed to do next.

Nudging the horse to move forward Isabelle wedged her free hand into the mass of flesh and rope on her handgrip. Taking in a breathe Isabelle focused her eyes on her inner being. Past the outer shell she portrayed to others, squeezing her being past the being she was to the outside world to the whirling pit of her soul. Turning her soul to the outside world she could see a second ‘marker’ in the web nearby, it’s pulsing form was rhythmic and calming. It was Wildfire she knew and instead turned her soul past that.

There!

The world swirled out of the mist in a shimmering likeness. Gracefully it twisted and turned on a pathway known to so few. Stretching and shifting the web gave way to the world as she saw it now. It opened the world to her in a whole new light. The feeling never faded from her and it beckoned her, echoed her wants and needs.

Father… She could hear his voice calling to her, it was a call she heard so long ago and as such knew it what it meant. But there was other things within the web that Isabelle wanted to see. She heard of the first web laid so many moons ago. It was this task Isabelle was off looking for. So through the web she went. Drifting from node to node Isabelle went in search of that ancient web. All webs were supposed to branch from it…

Isabelle’s body remained still for quite some time, her strider was still plodding forward, stopping here and there to gauge his rider. After several chimes he began to worry. Whining and trying to stir his rider Wildfire failed. Snorting loudly he turned his head in the direction of Riverfall and the Sanctuary. Putting hooves to ground the Strider did what he bred for… He ran like the winds.

While the grasses whistled past rider and mount, a tug gave the Webber notice that her body was being taken elsewhere from her range of control. “No!” She whirled around, the kaleidoscope world swirled around Isabelle. “No no no…” She started running, she could see the tail of Wildfire, shimmering and quickly taking her body and himself away. She could feel the vibrating fall of his hooves, Wildfire had done exactly what she was expecting of him. He took her body to a safe place. Using the Web the drykas knew the horse could reach speeds far faster than any other species.

“I will find you… And myself…” She slowed her run down and kept walking. The Web was whispering its sweetness in her ears.

Several Days Later

Wildfire had no care about time at this point. It had been days since Isabelle had awaken and the horse knew it was only a matter of time until she perished. At this point Wildfire and his unconscious Drykas had found themselves galloping hard into the area close to the Sanctuary.

Isabelle had to pause in keeping up, she was so far away… She could see the horse and her body running off like a speck fading into the distance. Yet she couldn’t catch up, the world around her was falling into a kaleidoscope swirling in the mists of the unknown. Voices from years past echoing in her mind. “I must continue on… And thus the girl pushed harder, picking her pace up even faster along the web.
