9th day of Spring 514 AV
I got up from the bed in the small, decent room I rented in the Kulkulan Tavern and Inn. As I felt the rays of sun on my skin, I stretched my arms and kissed my locket. This has always been my morning ritual since they died. Well, they're my parents what could I do? I miss them and Zeta badly. I sighed. This is the bad thing when you want to be an archaeologist: you become too attached to the past that you dont' know how to let it go.
Come on, Ruffa, stop the dramatics and begin what you are here for. VALKALAH'S TEARS!!! a part of my mind said.
"Fine, I'm going," I answered my mind, half-laughing. Wiping the tear from my cheek, I fixed my bed and looked at myself in the mirror. I combed my long, curly hair which always get messy whenever I sleep. I went to the bathroom and took a really quick shower, shivering as the cold water touch my skin. Being an animal whose not fond of water, bathing is not an easy thing but being in human form, I still need to maintain hygiene. After my shower, I donned a long skirt, a simple shirt and my simple boots. I grabbed my small bag and stuff in some brushes, my journal, my comb and a medium-rared steak wrapped in layers of cheesecloth. As I leave the room, I pulled my still wet hair into a tight bunch.
Because I just arrived in Riverfalls yesterday, I still don't know much about this city especially the location of the Valkalah's tears so I went around asking for directions. Thank goodness the people of Riverfalls are so hospitable and helpful. Writing down the instructions they gave me, I started my journey to Valkalah's tears, while walking in a moderate pace.
As I walk around town going to my target place, I observe the city and its wonderful inhabitants. The lively children playing, vendors selling goods, people going about their usual business and other tourists like me. Honestly, I'm starting to fall in love with Riverfalls every minute of my stay. While I enjoy the new ambience, looking around, appreciating the new surroundings, I bumped to a dark-haired guy.
"Oww!" I exclaimed loudly. "Sorry." I muttered
