[Darniva Commonrooms] An unusual need for help

Postby Jehryn Seyfara on April 18th, 2014, 8:19 am

30th of Spring, 514 AV

Mornings weren't always something Jehryn would have predicted. Oftentimes, there are unpredictable methods on how his mother wakes him up and drag him immediately to execute her lessons of her trades and the rest would probably be morning sickness or maybe just another day with a big, exasperating headache. However, Jehryn felt something was up on this day but generally expected that it would practically be the same as always.

The Kelvic gave out a bellowing yawn, loud enough to let his mother overhear him. He did notice briefly that her presence wasn't around so there was actually a good reason for him to feel the 'good' in 'good mornings'. Jehryn rubbed his eyes then stretched both of his arms straight, overlapping the mattress where he slept and with his hands grappling each other. He then leaned deeply onto his mattress and got up wearily as he heard the tendons of his neck made a snugly crack. Dusts were vigorously yanked from his clothing and then turned to pad off his blanket before folding it in one piece. As Jehryn finished arranging his bedding, he did a bit of a morning stretch to ease the stiffness of his body. He twitched his shoulders sideways then turned to stoop his head down with his hands on the back of his skull and finally giving his neck a quick jostle.

Jehryn made his way out from his quarters to take a stroll down the residential halls to look for his mother. He certainly knew well that if she wasn't around to wake him up by the sixth bell, her business might be keeping her in a busy state. The corridors seemed to lack a lively presence even at a time where everyone should be settled up. A a few Yasi were heard chortling heavily on nearby quarters and some commoners enjoying a time of early conversations but even those noises weren't enough to bring up the liveliness which has always been a part of the place when morning strikes. In any cases, Jehryn would've thought yesterday was a very busy day and made residents sleep like it was an eternal slumber in winter.

[Darniva Commonrooms] An unusual need for help

Postby Jehryn Seyfara on April 18th, 2014, 10:28 am

Things became more quiet as Jehryn traveled halfway further from where his quarters were with each passing hallway being as silent as how the Kelvic observed. Its as if most of the residents left their quarters without any known reason. As curious as he was to check each quarter, Jehryn knew he'd best stick on finding his mother and avoid any intrusion to the residents before he'd end himself up in a cage filled by his mother's enraged words.

Jehryn continued his way through the halls though seemingly with every minute passing by, he felt as if he had no idea of what he's trying to do at all. Simply he thought that waiting for his mother to return back on their quarters was actually a better idea but for him, changing something that's already been done is something he would do last. Besides, the odd silence which embraced the whole residential place was still a big question. But Jehryn felt utterly stupid and cursed himself several times for being one heck of an idiot.

As silent as it was, there was a bit of unusual noises being clanged together at an adjacent corner near the hallways. The sounds ended quickly as it brought one loud clash. It was so loud that Jehryn quickly identified the room where it was originated. He made few inaudible steps approaching the room. The door seemed to be half-closed so Jehryn took the advantage and knelt down to take a peak. However, as he was eager to know who was making the loud sounds or what the sounds were, the sight of that person was nowhere to be found inside. Jehryn took another peak and roamed his sights carefully through corners that he can clearly see but sadly, no one showed up.

Curious as he was, Jehryn stood back up and attempted to enter the place. He did knew he was intruding but for reasons he can explain in the future, the door was half-closed and he was certain that he as no other intentions but to know what the odd sounds were. Jehryn stepped forward, pushed the the wooden door cautiously and opened a small space for him to enter. The door made a slight creaky sound but Jehryn was sure it wasn't as loud as anyone would overhear it. With still no one showing up, Jehryn dropped himself down and crawled slowly, he needed to hide before someone actually shows up until then, he saw a wooden table with enough space for him to be able to fit under. He crawled over and stayed completely silent for now, with his eyes cautiously spying ahead. Seeing as to where he got himself, the young Kelvic felt horrible and breathed a heavy sigh Darn it horseboy! Do you have any idea of what you're doing right now? Jehryn asked himself as he started to hear footsteps making their way to where he was hiding.

[Darniva Commonrooms] An unusual need for help

Postby Jehryn Seyfara on April 18th, 2014, 4:13 pm

Jehryn couldn't risk to move a slight inch. Doing something like this was never the best idea he would ever make not like it's the first time to do something as idiotic as hiding inside a wooden table just to feed his curiosity. The footsteps grew louder and louder. Jehryn took a sharp glimpse outside the place he was hiding and into the corner where the footsteps were obviously heard. Then he saw brown leather ankle boots with a substantial amount of stains. The pair of boots started to travel slowly as if it was carrying something heavy. Jehryn twitched his head upward to take a closer look of the one who wore the boots. It was a girl or perhaps a girl in her adolescence, a typical Inartian resident of the Darniva Commons. She had a wavy & fiery orange hair which lengths to her shoulders. The girl wore a strapless Vinati and a pair of Bryda, pretty common for someone who stays a lot of time indoors. Jehryn admitted to himself that she looked beautiful but wasn't actually the concern of his supposed 'intrusion'.

As Jehryn carefully examined, the Inarta was carrying a lot of ceramic pots. Each of her hands held two pots, some were stacked altogether and was placed on her head and two were vibrantly quivering on her shoulders, one for each side. The Inarta ceaselessly limped on every stepped she made with each pot toppling from the lack of balance. The girl tried her best to maintain herself and keep them all from falling apart. Every step proved to be a risk but Jehryn thought it was generally a dumb idea to carry all of those pots simultaneously. The Inarta continued on taking another step for all the pots to be safely placed on a larger table before her. Jehryn finally knew where the loud sounds came from. He didn't have any reason to stay and watch so he tried to take his leave as quietly as he can but he forgot about something very important, that he was cramped up under a small wooden table which he foolishly believed would fit right into him. Jehryn violently bashed his head on the table as he tried to get up to slowly crawl out from the room. "Mother of!!!!! Ahh!! Petch!!!" The Kelvic cried out in pain as he gritted his teeth and sank in complete agony.

The Inarta struck a startled reaction and turned over to where the loud scream came which rapidly gave way to disrupt her balance. "Oh no! Please no!!" The Inarta exclaimed as she started to lose her balance. The stacked pots on her head violently shook as the two pots on her shoulders abruptly took their fall, then followed by the one which was on her head. One fell hard to the ground and broke into fragments but luckily, the Inarta reacted quickly and caught all of them together embracing them on her chest while being wrapped by her arms. The girl sighed in relief and placed all of the pots together in the ground and then glared at the corner where she audibly heard the shout. As she saw the stranger slowly rolling out from the table, her eyes swelled with rage while pulling something out from her pocket. It was a wooden ladle and she was eager to know how much it can hurt someone.

oocInartian/Inartan I dunno how to call them. I get so confused over it :(

[Darniva Commonrooms] An unusual need for help

Postby Jehryn Seyfara on April 19th, 2014, 7:59 am

The Inarta took some few cautious steps towards the the stranger who was utterly weeping in pain. The wooden ladle in her hands was held higher, ready to smack her target if he ever intended to do something absurd. The Inarta breathed heavily as she waited for the stranger to stand up. Though despite the stranger being in a steady harmless state, her eyes still managed to give a sharp look which carefully monitored every move the stranger made."Don't move. Don't.....move," The Inarta clearly suggested. "If you do, uh...I'll make that head of yours blow up for sure." She sounded a bit nervous for a second, her rapid breathing clearly showed that she was.

The sudden pain slowly subsided. Jehryn found himself lying down on the cemented floor while he heard the Inarta suggesting him not to move. The Kelvic rolled the other side of his body, then abruptly gathered his weight and got up to his feet. The Inarta felt completely enraged and insulted after seeing the stranger disregard what she had just said. "I said don't MOVE!!!!" The Inarta cried out. She raised her ladle higher with both of her hands holding it then swung it towards the stranger's head. Jehryn only knew how to stop it but explaining why he intruded was something he couldn't come up.

The ladle nearly bashed Jehryn's head. Luckily, he flung his right arm just in time and blocked the supposed 'weapon' from ever hurting his head, though the impact of the ladle wasn't something he expected to feel. It did hurt but not much. "You do realize that thing hurts, right?" It did hurt but Jehryn pretended to be calm and hid the feeling. The Inarta still felt insulted. She drew back her ladle away from the stranger's arm and raised it again to swing in for a second round, hopefully she can hit him this time. "Wait wait wait!!!!Hold on there," Just before the Inarta was about to whirl her ladle, she stopped for a moment. "Look, I'm sorry for the intrusion. I was curious about the loud noises I've heard recently and I thought It was coming from this place," Jehryn paused and breathed a long sigh "Can we just forget this? pretend you never saw me" The Kelvic looked at the Inarta's eyes sincerely. It was strikingly beaming, both were golden yellow which struck beauty all over the girl's face. Jehryn knew it was a typical Inartan eye color but she found the Inarta a bit attractive.

The Inarta lowered her ladle then sighed. He looked away from the stranger as her face displayed a displeased expression. "How will that convince me?" The girl asked. Jehryn took some steps closer to the Inarta "Smack me with that wooden spoon of yours, just not in the head this time" The Inarta felt suddenly confused with herself. She was satisfied when the stranger wanted to be smacked but the sound of his voice unveiled his innocence. It clearly proved he wasn't intending anything odd from his intrusion. Either way, The Inarta swung her ladle, aiming it at the stranger's left shoulder and smacked it but this time, the force she exerted wasn't that much to be something potent. The girl somehow felt some pinch of regret. "Convinced?" Jehryn asked to end all of it. "Not quite. you're not even hurt" The Inarta replied, her voice sounded as if she was desperate. "Ow! that hurt," Despite acting terribly, Jehryn found himself chortling in the end. "It's not even funny" The girl responded, feeling a bit disgusted. "Right but you did say I should feel hurt," Jehryn didn't wait for a response. He started to take some steps away from the Inarta and turned away from her then faced the door. "I'll be on my way now"

For a moment, the Inarta felt she needed to do something. She was actually a bit overjoyed that she found someone who meant no harm even for busting in unexpectedly. She cleared her throat before the stranger could even step outside from the door. "Wait!! please, I need your help!". Jehryn stopped then turned his head over to his shoulder to look back at the Inarta. "I know you're someone who can be trusted. So please, can you help me?" Jehryn was left in a questioned expression "What?!" the Kelvic exclaimed.

[Darniva Commonrooms] An unusual need for help

Postby Jehryn Seyfara on April 20th, 2014, 2:27 am

"You will be repaid. I promise" The Inarta swore herself that she would, just by hearing the tone of her voice simply made Jehryn thought she was in desperate need of help. Still, he was confused. Jehryn turned back to the Inarta and gave a questioned stare. He raised his eyebrow then slightly raised his right arm to open his palms wide, gesturing the girl to listen carefully"Hold on. Just, hold on. You're making things happen so fast," Jehryn spoke at a slow pace before taking a pause. He had numerous questions in his mind to ask before doing something but he ought to be careful not to mess things up. "Besides, why would you ask help from a stranger? Do you even know what I'm capable of?". He then shifted into disappointment as he reflected where he had gotten himself into. Darn it! When mother gets back and finds out I'm not there, I'm going to murdered. He gravely thought. Jehryn didn't wait for any response to come out from the Inarta. He then turned away and slowly headed towards the hallways outside. As Jehryn neared the door, the Inarta cleared her throat loudly enough to catch the Kelvic's attention. Once again, it stopped Jehryn's pace from ever going out from the quarter.

"You're not much of a bad person. I know. Because I can see it from how you act" The Inarta sounded more sincere than before, its as if she was begging for her life to be spared. A bit of exasperation ran down through Jehryn, he sighed heavily then thought about responding to the girl. A response which seems understandable enough for the girl to stop begging. "Look, I can help you. But my mother might be back from her business and if she finds out I'm not there, I'm as good as a dead rat" He thought the reason was good enough to end all of it so, he started walking outside from the room. Jehryn slowly washed his concerns away from the girl. He never even knew what kind of help she wanted but he honestly admitted to himself that he was too lazy at the moment to give a helping hand. Besides, he had no reason to help someone who just tried to smack him with a wooden spoon three times. Jehryn had a few distance away from the quarter he left but the Inarta was still determined and went outside.

She watched the Kelvic went on his way. "A little help won't hurt! It won't take long, I promise!" Her voice was clear enough for Jehryn to hear even at a distance. "I'll come with you when you go back to your quarters. Let me be the one to explain everything to your mother. I'm sure she'll understand" Her voice sounded louder with every word being spoken. "Please!". Jehryn sighed heavily again. He knew the girl won't stop until she gets what she wanted although she did promised to explain his sudden disappearance by herself and that somehow convinced Jehryn a little. He couldn't decide on anything until then he did it anyway. He slowly turned towards the direction where he left the Inarta's quarter then kept his pace. The Inarta smiled as she saw the stranger making his way back. I hope this girl won't do anything insane Jehryn thought. "Just keep your promise and make this quick" he said, finding no apparent reason to smile at the situation he's in. "I will. Thank you" The Inarta answered as honestly as she could before heading back inside to her quarters.

[Darniva Commonrooms] An unusual need for help

Postby Jehryn Seyfara on April 20th, 2014, 2:22 pm

The Inarta's living quarter was not something much to be called as 'spectacular' though it wasn't also a place which lacks appeal and beauty. It was genuine and downright to it's appearance. Finely made tapestries were seen to be properly hanged at walls. Their design looked suitable to the fiery orange color painted to the walls and ceilings, which seemed to be a very decent color to give an Inarta's home a spring of life. Brown-colored draperies were lifted by metal rods which divided a certain space into two that leads to the dense bed spaces. Each of the them consisted of a wooden bed frame, a mattress, one chunky pillow and a blanket. There was a small dining area that can be found which was actually one of the places that wasn't properly settled. It was connected directly from the bedroom which was segregated only by a huge unpainted block of wood. The dining table was large but didn't seem to be an obstruction since it was the only noticeable equipment in the place. Judging from how it looked, the table was carved from old wood of trees that died out ages ago before being processed for home utility but at least the people living in the place could afford something to establish a dining room of their own. However, the only thing which would likely attract anyone who would visit the place were the numerous potteries displayed on each and every corner of the living quarter. There were different varieties of pots, each of them told a tale of hardwork and determination to be made beautifully. Just by observing on how the place looked could easily tell a hardworking and skilled Avoran potter owns it.

Jehryn stood near the large wooden table at the dining room. He was arranging the pots by column from the largest to the smallest of size. Those were the same pots which was carried by the Inarta before one fell and broke down on the floor. The Kelvic thought he was finished as he observed that nothing else was assigned to him other than disposing the broken pot and arranging the remaining ones. "Hey! I'm done with this....task, can I go now?" Jehryn demanded. He twitched to the other side with eyes roaming to look for the Inarta. He then thought of escaping if ever the girl was out of sight but then he would feel horrible for himself. Jehryn then heard a series of heavy panting and some object being dragged bluntly. It was the Inarta who was again having numerous difficulties on how to do tasks. The sack she was dragging looked bulky and obviously seemed very heavy that even dragging it against the floor made no progress. "C-can you help me with this?". Jehryn sighed. "You should have said it sooner," Jehryn paused then walked towards the girl and grabbed a hold of the sack. "Well, this is incredibly heavy. He slightly grunted as he started to pull the sack to the large wooden table. Sweat from the Inarta's forehead rushed down to her neck rapidly as she pushed the other side of the sack. It wasn't a long way before they could finish dragging it but every second got much more difficult.

As it they were finished, they panted heavily with Jehryn sitting on the cemented floor and the Inarta leaning her chest against the sack. "You alright?" Jehryn asked while breathing heavily but calmed as he waited for a response. "I was going to ask the same" Jehryn stood and went back to the pots he was finished arranging. "You have a lot of beautiful pots here" The Kevlic spoke, adding as much appreciation and compliments he can. "My mother is a potter, she makes one of the best potteries in the Reach," The Inarta took a pause, She exhaled calmly. The stench of the sack didn't agreed with her nose. "Today is her birthday. She has given me a lot. So I want to give something to her in return." She stood slowly and stared at the pots which were arranged by Jehryn. She smiled a bit but it looked like it was forced. "And you needed my help?" The girl turned to look at Jehryn's face, she smiled again but this time it wasn't forced. She nodded in response.

The Kelvic gazed at the sack, looking puzzled. "So, uh. What exactly do you want to do with that?," Jehryn pointed at the sack. "And these pots?" The Inarta rubbed her lips with her thumb, thinking of a good concise answer to make things understandable. "You're going to help me fill those pots with soil," The Inarta stated, looking away from the Kelvic and then to the pots "I'm a gardener. I've planted a variety of flowers and grew them before winter came. They were preserved and placed in old pots and I wanted them transferred to these pots," The Inarta paused for a while. "These are my mother's favorites. Unfortunately, I just broke one of them" For a moment Jehryn thought it was his fault but he didn't plan on admitting that it was. He remained attentive as he let the Inarta finish. "I was planning on surprising my mother but I badly needed help because I can't finish all of these on my own" Jehryn was struck on a sudden surprise too as he felt confused on what the Inarta was talking about. "Wait. What do you mean by 'these' "? Jehryn asked. "Oh I'm really sorry, I almost forgot to tell you that I needed to arrange this place to make it look presentable for a surprise." Jehryn had almost lost himself. He sighed deeply and felt the heavy weight of his shoulders. Never mind her looking attractive. She's like mother, only younger He thought. "I'm really sorry, The Inarta bit her lip then held her hands together. "Will you still help me?" She added just to confirm everything. Jehryn looked rather pale in expression as if his soul was slowly being taken away. "Yes, Sure" His response obviously sounded forced.

Jehryn went to open the sack. Even for his horse senses, the stench of the soil wasn't something his nose would agree. He then held his breath as he wore the garden gloves that were given to him and started shoving up some soil with a hand trowel. The Inarta was on the other side, at the large wooden table where the pots were. She wore the same garden gloves and equipped with a hand trowel. "Hey, I'm sorry I smacked you," The Inarta spoke, staring intently at Jehryn. "I didn't mean to do it. I'm just not fond of having men around" Jehryn kept on shoveling as he pulled his breath to breathe some air before holding it up again. "Oh don't apologize. I'm used to it. Being smacked by my mother especially in the head is my day to day experience" He then gathered about a decent bundle of soil then stood up to fill it in the largest pot. The Inarta watched Jehryn as he went back again to get some more soil. "Is she really that strict?" The Inarta started to feel a bit nervous if she was ever going to explain everything. "Absolutely, without a doubt" Jehryn answered but the Inarta felt like there was nothing to be nervous about. She laughed gleefully on how Jehryn described his mother. "I'm Valorya, In case you're wondering about my name" She said. "Jehryn" The Kelvic responded swiftly without having to wait for a question for what his name was. "Jehryn? sounds odd for a name here in Wind Reach.". Valorya soon forgot what she was about to do, she didn't wait for a response and then walked hastily towards the door. "I almost forgot to get the flowers. Wait here" She then stepped outside and started sprinting. Jehryn on other hand still felt miserable but was somehow delighted when they both exchanged their names "Valorya," He whispered to himself "Your name sounds a bit odd too" He then chuckled.

[Darniva Commonrooms] An unusual need for help

Postby Jehryn Seyfara on April 21st, 2014, 3:34 am

Jehryn was about to be finished with most of the pots filled by bundles of soil. Only the smallest of them wasn't filled yet but Jehryn felt this task was rather rewarding and easier than carving wood and heating metal shafts. He looked a bit of a mess now. Perhaps he was exposed with the soil and wasn't careful enough to avoid smears on his light-brown tunic. There were a few larger stains on his tunic's midsection while diminutive smudges were over his shoulder sides. He haven't bothered himself to look at the stains and focused on finishing his task quickly before going in to arrange the place that will fit for a birthday surprise. Jehryn wasn't exhausted himself though a substantial amount of sweat poured to various parts of his face and gushed down to his neck then into the collar of his tunic.

The Kelvic lifted the hand trowel from the sack, carrying a small bundle of soil and then filled it in the smallest pot. He then shove the soil to evenly distribute the empty spaces of the pot to make it look befitting. Jehryn breathed audibly, showing a sign of relief as he was finished doing his work though it was just the first part of it whereas the next one was expected to be tiring and needed some careful thinking as well as coordination.

In truth, Jehryn also needed something to do other than attending his daily duties as his mother's apprentice. Without having him being allowed to roam free made him felt like he was somewhat, imprisoned. But he understood everything clearly as he grew into a young adult. Wind Reach isn't some place where the unemployed prosper. So as to say, he too, felt like throwing away a carefree life and started thinking about working hard to see how well he can manage to progress his life, with or without the help of his parents.

Helping others became a norm to him but that doesn't mean it was a problem. He liked helping people, he mostly sees the bright side of it and thought it was something which most people lacked. But sometimes when he sees himself helping others, there would be some instances where he would eventually forget to help himself. He just didn't knew how to. It would be confusing for him to fathom about it, about helping himself. But there is this vague feeling he gets after he helps people. It isn't regret nor the feeling of wanting something in return. He starts to worry about people he just helped. Worrying about the time when their recently claimed happiness shifts and drag themselves back to the world devoid of brightness. Perhaps it was what Jehryn sought when helping others. To see them smile truthfully and open their eyes to see the brighter side of the world. Jehryn didn't want to watch someone embrace sadness again when they just filled themselves with utter joy. He didn't desire people to be giving themselves a lot of selfish remarks. He knew he is of no concern to them but he just couldn't take a single grasp of it, everything just made anger rush through his blood and eventually took him nowhere. And it bothered him to the point where it remained lingering inside his heart. The only thing he could do was forget the times when he saw people smiling and move along. He finally realized that was the way he could help himself.

[Darniva Commonrooms] An unusual need for help

Postby Jehryn Seyfara on April 21st, 2014, 12:53 pm

The door creaked open and was abruptly shut when Valorya rushed in holding a basket filled with a variety of flowers. She panted heavily as she steadied herself briefly before placing the basket over to the large wooden table. The Inarta turned her eyes slowly to the table, taking a clear glimpse of the pots which are now stuffed with the soil. At first, her eyes distrusts the sight of it. It felt rather impossible for the certain task to be done before she could even get back. Sure, it was easy to do if one gets the swing of shoveling a hand trowel into a sack of soil but she viewed Jehryn as someone who is a lot inexperienced to perform such work within the shortest possible time. But it didn't matter, Valorya smiled with an impressed expression. "Looks like I don't have to worry at all," She said "It seems you can do it a lot faster than me" Jehryn stripped his gloves off to rub his hands from excess dirt. "No need to compliment me," The Kelvic then settled his eyes on the flowers that were brought "We need to do this quick. There won't be a surprise if your mother returns and we're still not finished." Jehryn suggested. He then roved the place in search of something to sweep away the small bundles of soil that strayed at the cemented floor. There was a straw broom he eventually found leaning at the wall near the small table where he hid himself before everything started to happen. "I'll use this. You go on and do your gardening thing on those flowers" The Kelvic went to the large wooden table on the dining area and started to sweep the strayed soil. Valorya on the other hand was lost for words of appreciation. She didn't expect Jehryn to be devoting himself in helping. Complaining mostly on everything was something she had expected from him but she's already seeing it now. Seeing a young man, willing to help someone other than himself. The Inarta couldn't help but take a glimpse of Jehryn with a slight tinge of admiration. She was smiling, until such brief time when Jehryn glared at her with exasperated eyes. "Standing won't help" He cleared his throat before continuing on sweeping the cemented floor.

The flowers that Valorya brought proved to be the product of her hardwork from the previous season just before winter reigned. They were Tulips all gleaming in ecstatic colors. A few of them were shimmering with the bright yellow colors of summer and some rendered the beauty in pink. But it was their torn petals that slightly tainted the sublimity in their form. Their roots proved that their lives were almost at it's peak when they looked withered in a decaying brown color. Preserving them during the winter season may not be the wisest decision for a gardener to make but to Valorya, it was worth the wait. They may not continue on blossoming until she lifts her name as a gardener, but showing it to her mother on a very special day seems to bring more happiness than everything else.

Valorya couldn't afford to work slowly, so she transferred the plants on the pots without a careless misstep though she tried to maintain haste in order for the task to be completed swiftly. She sowed the soil on each pot, making sure the withered roots will still get a bit of nourishment even from their dire condition. As all of the flowers were placed on the pot-which some contained three while some had only one-Valorya planted a small twig on each pot and tied the stems of the flowers to their frame for them to stand at a good posture. The Inarta then took her garden gloves off as she finished attending to her plants. Jehryn surprisingly stood behind her and gave and appreciated look from the finished product. "Well that was fast". He astonishingly spoke. "I thought compliments won't finish everything Valorya teased him a bit, giving a mirthful smirk. "I didn't said that. Does it hurt to appreciate?" Jehryn protested but didn't wait for a response as he went back to sweep the last chunks of scattered soil. Valorya chuckled after hearing Jehryn sounding a bit annoyed.

[Darniva Commonrooms] An unusual need for help

Postby Jehryn Seyfara on April 22nd, 2014, 5:13 am

The cemented floor on the small dining area was now free from scattered bundles of soil. Jehryn began to wonder about the heavy sack as he stared at Valorya with a puzzled look. "Do you mind telling me where you got this heavy thing?" Valorya turned to answer the question as they exchanged glances. "A gift from my fellow Avoran gardeners," She paused as she clasped the largest pot with her hands "It was given as a gift to my mother actually, these soils are rich in nourishment for plants. You can hardly find these in the Underground Forest and it's usually dangerous to wander there." Instead of giving compliments for Valorya's fellow-gardeners, Jehryn nodded instead. Then stood as he watched the Inarta carry one of the potteries, now with newly sowed plants. "Try not to carry them all at once" Jehryn suggested. Valorya nodded in response as she bore the weight of the pot. She then placed it on top of the small wooden table where the Kelvic hid before. With a bit of satisfaction, a smile was formed in the Inarta's face. The simplicity of her idea on decorating a surprise gave herself a remark of hardwork from the past seasons. However, her abridged happiness abruptly fell as she shifted herself in melancholy. She then stopped before she could haul the next pot to the other table. "My mother is gravely sick," Her voice was calm but was dreary. "Ever since she was, visiting to the physician became a daily obligation. Our work stepped in our ways. I couldn't even give her a daughter's embrace in the morning, I really wanted to do that.........just for once but I... I accepted the fact that I can't. I always pray she gets better soon, even if we can't spend a day together, just seeing her healthy makes me complete" Valorya stated as she gazed wearily at an empty space.

Perhaps Jehryn was selfishly agreeing things. All he ever thought about was finishing all of the different tasks assigned from his help and was focused on doing it quickly as he kept a close watch on the Inarta's promise of 'this won't take long' which eventually took long as he expected it to happen. But none of those mattered to him lately, he felt horrible for acting a bit neutral towards Valorya and especially now that he heard the girl's sad story, acting selfish proved to be a sin he intently committed. Jehryn felt apologizing but there was a small amount pride in him that remained intact and thus, refused himself to do such thing. He was beginning to see himself as a different person, a person slowly being defiled by his own ego without reflecting the small and selfish things he had done to himself and to others. Losing himself as a person may seem to be pioneering but he still had enough strength to resent it and still be the person that he is.

Jehryn struck a flawed smile before Valorya's eyes. It was forced but he made sure it wasn't obvious. He gathered all the concerns he could just to see the Inarta smile again. Sadness is the least of his desires and he felt he wasn't ready to see one on this day. "She will be better. Just believe that she can and she will......be better" He never expected to sound sincere but he did. It felt like he said it downright from his heart and then started to think that his supposed apology had found it's way into those words. Jehryn smiled again, it wasn't forced this time but it was still halfway from being genuine. "Now, I assume that made you feel better. We should go back to what we were supposed to do" He then suggested. The tone of his voice sounded more lively than before. The shimmer of Valorya's golden eyes went back as the concern of the Kelvic rushed down through her like a waterfall. She abruptly found a reason to smile again after reflecting the sad condition of her family. She smiled at Jehryn, showing him as much appreciation that she can give without the use of words. Perhaps she was too happy and relieved to even say thank you but she felt time was running out so she needed to attend things first other than some overly dramatic waggeries.

Valorya then went on the next pottery. She carried it through and placed it on the table where the first pot was before going back again to place another one. But as she observed the placement of the small wooden table, she began thinking about how it wasn't fit for a surprise. She then went to it, before she could even lay her hands on the third pot. The table was soon dragged but with complete caution as there were already two pots placed on top and Valorya couldn't afford to lose another. The table was then positioned a few inches before the door. The Inarta finally viewd the placement as a perfect fit for a surprise, she then smiled at it before going back to place the third pot up to the last eight one. Jehryn on the other hand, was confused on what to do next since he was finished with his previous task. "Hey! I'm afraid I have no idea what to do next. Is there something specific that needs to be done with my help?" He then asked. Sights were spun from nooks and crannies as the Inarta looked for something to assign. Then at a brink of ideas, she forgot yet another thing that she was supposed to do. "There are heavy fabrics folded on my bed, and also a toolbox underneath. You might as well get those. We'll decorate the whole place when I'm done with these". The Inarta implied as she hastily went back and forth to transfer the pots. Jehryn shuffled his way through the small bedspaces then found what he was supposed to look for in an immediate time. The fabrics were in an orange color and he soon concluded that it was the most suitable decoration for occasions in Wind Reach.

[Darniva Commonrooms] An unusual need for help

Postby Jehryn Seyfara on April 22nd, 2014, 3:18 pm

A thunderous smite of a hammer can be heard throughout the adjacent hallways of the commonrooms. Perhaps the sound may have given a bit of life to the seemingly dead hallways. It strayed as fast as it can travel but only up to a relative distance where it cannot be heard by people who reside on further quarters. There weren't actually people who would attempt on visiting the place where the loud hammering originated. Even if it was mid-morning already around the 10th bell, there was no one who would bother on complaining about being disturbed.

Inside the place where the loud hammering can be potently heard, was an unusual but delightful sight of flowers placed on various sized potteries above a small wooden table, just before the door could be shoved open. The flowers altogether glimmered in ecstatic colors of two, some were shimmering with a golden yellow color and the rest were painted by a mesmerizing color of pink. The potteries where the flowers had been planted were arranged in rows and columns numbering from eight in total and was evenly sorted. Long strips of green nylon fabric encompassed the pots and before them, leaned a piece of paper that seemed to have some writings in it. 'Singing the joyful songs of birthdays to you!! Best wishes from your daughter, Valorya. Enjoy your day! dearest mother" The words were in Nari and was written well.

Jehryn was ceaselessly trembling. He distrusted the wooden chair where he stood and endlessly thought about faltering over before even finishing on the decorations. But finishing the task was already out of the question as he and Valorya were about to be finished on the decoration where there was only one particular corner of the ceiling where it wasn't decorated by the fabric. Thick bands of fabric were hung beneath perpendicularly across the walls and the ceiling. They were arranged in a wavy-like form where nails jabbed endpoints of the fabric, followed by a wave and then a series of the same pattern. Jehryn mostly did the difficult parts where he mounted above a wooden chair and hammered the nails while Valorya gave him commands on how to sort the fabrics as well as handing out the nails.

The Kelvic squinted his eyes, taking a cautious estimated look on the nail he was holding. With a few strikes and mashes of the hammer, the nail was jabbed into the wall, hanging the last strip of fabric. Thus, they were finished and was ready to strike a birthday surprise. Jehryn slowly descended from the wooden chair, faltering a few steps then got himself down. Valorya smiled beside him. "Thank you," She was filled with heartfelt feelings that she could give Jehryn a warm embrace, except she told herself she shouldn't. "Everything wasn't possible if you refused to help. I'm very glad you did. Thank you.....Jehryn" The Inarta added as she gazed throughout the decorations in complete awe. Although he thought he was being forced to help, Jehryn also felt glad that he did help. Happiness to him is something very contagious once he sees one. "Don't mention it. Help is natural." Jehryn responded, trying not act as humble as naturally does. "Everything seems to be ready now," He then paused, sounding a bit confused at the moment "So, what kind of surprise are you actually planning? Are you going to dance around? do acrobatics? or anything you planned in particular?" Valorya soon realized it was the time to reveal her master plan which she planned when she met Jehryn. She felt a bit anxious of how the Kelvic might respond but it was best to give it a try or it wouldn't be accomplished either way. The Inarta then smirked at Jehryn innocently. Her eyes blinked multiple times while she held both of her hands and swayed her body frequently. "You may dislike this but, I have one last favor to ask from you," The tone of her voice gave out obvious signs of nervousness. "Try your best not to laugh at me while I sing the song I've written for my mother" Jehryn thought it sounded a little too absurd. "What?" Eyebrows were raised to get a clearer view of things "Now you're making yourself think of me as a cruel person. I'm not like that" He then affirmed but his voice was calm. "I know. You're actually not. I'm sorry" The Inarta felt guilty for a moment. "Well then, I believe you should get yourself ready for your mother's arrival" Jehryn smiled, assuring that things would go smoothly. Valorya nodded in response as she pulled out a piece of paper that was at the waistline of her Bryda. She peeked a little and then a smile drew her face.
