HUMAN, BENSHIRA - SEASON OF SUMMER, DAY 12 487AV - FEMALE Ligeia is the very image of her Benshira culture, save only two things: the desert backdrop and her preference to wear sheer trousers in the place of a long tunic. Her slender shoulders are sheltered beneath the pale fabric of a long-sleeved shirt, wealth obvious in the intricate hem and jeweled buttons. Looped around her waist is a fading red scarf, its width folded 'just so' to form a formidable pocket. Crowning her head of thick, dark tresses is a delicate shawl and supporting her feet are leather sandals. Geia's eyes are a crystalline shade of warm nectar outlined in the deep, curling black of feathery lashes. Her skin has been dusted a honeyed-tan from years of exposure to the golden sun and the faint trace of freckles kiss each cheek. Precious metal studs dot a path up both ears, rings are scattered across her hands, and the thin, gold chain of a necklace darts beneath the fabric of her top - completing her apparel.
Ligeia is many things, but I have only chosen a select few traits in which to describe her. She is charismatic, very much so. Talking and socializing with others comes free and easy to her. Growing up, her parents preached to her to be as quick to offer a kind or gentle word to a friend as to a stranger. She bares a witty, dry and sometimes sarcastic sense of humour that is always helpful when meeting new people. Ligeia is also a very inquisitive creature, always puzzling and mulling over thoughts and ideas that strike her. In another life she would have made a fine scholar. There have been times that this well-intended curiosity of hers has landed her in less than ideal situations, but it is the simple price she chooses to pay for her need to know more. One of her more boisterous traits is her impulsiveness. It's borderline reckless. She honestly can't help it. Arguably, acting on a whim is a necessity for survival, but Ligeia's impulses always seem more intense when compared to instinct. Instinct to Ligeia is something buried in the back of one's mind, but her impulses are always front and center. A common trait among the Benshira is being stubborn, and Ligeia did not escape that particular heirloom. |
