Is looking for something to give a clearer purpose to his life. Character History Zivalin was born on Sahova to a Wizard/slave coupling. Through the father’s connections the boy was allowed to live by virtually selling him to his Master who would “apprentice” him. Basically he would be a slave, but as far as slaves go, he was in a relatively good position. He only received one meal every other day (except if he got lucky and caught something himself) so he was always hungry and malnourished. However, this only served to strengthen his mental resolve and fortitude. Ziva was used and abused all the time on Sahova. He was experimented on, scarred, battered, and injured many a time. He was lucky that his father managed to prevent any serious or crippling injury to Ziva, but there were many close calls. His master, an alchemist working on homunculus research, inspired an interest in anatomy. He studied various wildlife and their anatomy – including humans. Soon, Ziva tried to teach himself some anatomy through stealing a book sometimes to read in seclusion. This wasn't enough for him, however. He needed more. In the testing grounds he met Riyanna. Her kindness towards kids lead him to getting a few specimens from the testing grounds to play with. At the same time, he borrowed a few old tools and specimens from his master’s lab as well. With these he could truly begin to teach himself in secret. But it was never enough, and he couldn't learn as much as he wanted. Not all questions of anatomy were answered through dissection. At the age of 11, his father shipped him away to Mura. It is around this time that nuits consider that it is the age around which the living tend to begin to rebel, so the experiments would get harder. Taking this opportunity, his father whisked him away to Mura, where he took his knowledge he’d gathered from Sahova and put them to use towards medicine. He decided to learn how to be a surgeon. His father was killed immediately once they realized what he had done. It is forbidden to let a resource leave the island. Zivalin Solanaceae would never forget Sahova.
