Rhaegar is a man of, for lack of a more subtle term, an absolute beauty. He is very well regarded only by his facial features at times, by those who do not know him or his past. He has dark, haunting blue eyes that pierce through your soul, it seems at times. His silver hair is always wildly tossed about but even that has a certain beauty with him. His lips are quite thin, and they seem hidden even when he speaks at his loudest.

His build is that of a non-fighter, which leads most to underestimate him. Under his clothing he has a layer of long and boisterous muscle that would scare most footpads or bandits off, but Rhaegar likes to lure the foolish to him; let them be misled all they want.

What most people that have met Rhaegar in passing will tell you is this: he is tall, brilliantly beautiful, handsome, and without flaw.

Character Concept

"When I run my fingers through the strings of this magnificent instrument, to the beat of mine own heart, I feel as if the world is mine... like nothing exists but me and my earth...
- Rhaegar Alterios Faesar, regarding his harp.

Rhaegar is one of the most brilliant minds to come from the Faesar family in recent years. His parents were both merchants, so that contributes to his intelligence in terms of numbers and accounts. He is of the mind that if you put anything to mind, it can be achieved.

Rhaegar is also extremely religious, a trait that he had acquired in his childhood when he was savagely and relentlessly forced into worshiping the Alvina, Uphis, by some of the more cruel monks that followed him in their cult. He has since feared what would happen if he did not worship with the other members of the Sharp Blade. He is sometimes heard murmuring 'My gratitude to Nyka and her founders has no bounds. I shall not worship the immortals who plot against Nyka or those who have wronged the Celestials,' absentmindedly.

Rhaegar loves music. Composing, listening to, or playing music is his greatest pleasure. As a child, many of those that lived with, grew up with, and spoke with Rhaegar regarded him as the 'Bard of North-Nyka', for his fantastic musical skills.

Though Rhaegar grew up in Nyka, where foreigners are laughed at, bullied, and beaten down, he tends to be neutral to outsiders, something his family and his other peers find strange but fascinating.

Character History

When Rhaegar was born, his father ran through the streets of the north quarter of Nyka, screaming that his child had finally been born. And boy, no less. When Rhaegar came from the Harellia Faesar's womb into the world, many-a-merchant in the north quarter rejoiced; the only child Vacannen put in the woman's belly that had not come out stillborn. Yes, Rhaegar was a little miracle. His mother cried in joy so much, they say, that she nearly died that night. Though everyone knows that this is not true. Growing up, Rhaegar was a joy to have in the home, in the temples, in the streets, and even in the bath houses. He was the pride and happiness of the Faesar family, its heart and soul. From an early age, Rhaegar, most likely stemming from his being the heart of his family, began to develop a high level of empathy. He always sought to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Once, Rhaegar had been playing his harp (which his father had bought him from a Syliran merchant) for a sickly old man, and they say that the man so loved his musical expertise, the elder at once rose and slowly began to dance along to the tune, acting as if he was young again. This caught the attention of one of the monks of the Sharp Blade cult. This monk, in his orders fanatical ways and thoughts, believed the boy was a miracle-worker. He took the boy by the arm, not saying a word, dragged him from the crowd, and demanded the boy come with him to the Sharp Tongue Pub, where plenty of old men gathered like crows to feast on the alcohol and yell of their old days as swordsmen and fighters. When they reached the pub, the monk dragged the boy inside and planted him in front of an old drunk man, leaning against the wall, grey-bearded and tan, pock-faced and skinny as a stick. When Rhaegar began to play, the old man would not budge, spitting on the boy's feet and telling him to stop with the 'damned music'.

This did not please the monk. He beat the child behind the pub afterwards and told him 'he did not have enough faith' to cure the old man of his ailments and sins and age. This went on for several years; every day that the boy could not perform a 'miracle', the monks would beat him until he professed his faith in his city and the gods and demigods. His parents could do nothing to stop it; to speak out against the High Priests and their respective cults was surely death. But one day, when Rhaegar and his father left one day to go watch the sunset by the Aperture, the monks found Rhaegar before he and his father could reach the great crack in the earth. When the boy refused to go with them, they knocked him onto the ground. His father said something- he cannot remember exactly what- but the next thing Rhaegar knew, his father lay dead on the ground beside him, beaten bloody and to a pulp.

This happened at age seventeen, and since then, Rhaegar has not been the same. As soon as he said his goodbyes to his mother, he left the city of Nyka, his home, where he would sing and play and climb and run along the tiled rooftops, for Syliras, the 'greatest' city in all of Mizahar after the Valterion. He headed there for the purpose of learning; he has since bought an apartment there, deep within Stormhold Citadel, and has made frequent visits to the Undeniable Interests store, searching for more subjects to learn of. Since entering Syliras, Rhaegar has also made friends with some other merchants, who were also acquaintances of his father's. He also is often seen playing his reputed harp at the Rearing Stallion, Kova's Wishing Well, and, more often than either, in the Syliras Theater Square.
