Just a little boomerange practice and whatever

This lazy agricultural settlement rests on the swampy shores of the Middle Suvan at the delta of The Kenash River. The River's slow moving bayou waters have bred a different sort of people - rugged, cultured, and somewhat violent. Sprawling plantations of tobacco and cotton grow on the outskirts of the swamp in the rich Cyphrus soils, while the city itself curls around the bayou and spawns decadence and sins of all sorts. Life is slower in Kenash, but the lack of pace is made up for in the excesses of food and flesh in a city where drinking, debauchery, gambling, slavery, and overbearing plantation families dominate the landscape.

Whatever Goes Around [Shipwreck Beach]

Finn was just wearing pants, so that he could feel the Sun on his back, and squeeze the sand between his toes. He got the whole 'shoes' concept but still was on the skeptical side about it. All in all he was feeling pretty natural in this setting. He loved going for swims, but it was just as nice to use the ol' human legs and such. Finnegan picked his teeth with the metal tip of the that angled blade he carried around. And raised an eyebrow as he scanned the treeline. The tropical fruit-bearing trees caught his eye; coconut palms, with fat green fruit hanging from the branches. Those, and debris from various ill fated ships and boats littered the beach, but Finn didn't pay much mind to those. He took a clump full of sand and tossed it to the wind. It went from left to right across his torso, and he was facing the targeted tree. Perfect weather for some nice, straight throws. Finn dusted off his hands and slipped his right hand into one of his metal gauntlets, the reinforced palm would protect his hand from the smack of the returning boomerang, just in case he missed.

Finn slid his left hand across the flat surface of crooked metal. He took it in his arm, and stretched it to full length. He did a couple of overhanded practice extensions, where he hacked at the air as if he were about to let the blade go. Once he was sure of his aim, he flung the metal "l" at a low hanging coconut. It tumbled end of end as it twisted to the target. The black lacquered metal smashed into the green pulp, and the coconut fell to the ground, boomerang still embedded. Finn did a celebratory jump of success and then went over to pick up the coconut. When he got to it Kang ran an eyes over the coconut. Pretty good. The boomerang was already wedged about three fourths of the way through, so Finn just hacked the top off from the other side. He slid boomerang into his wasteband and tipped the coconut back to drink the water inside. Pretty good. He took a seat at the foot of the coconut tree and started drinking the rest of coconut water, whistling a happy song in between sips. When he rested his head against the tree, it sent a reverberation up the trunk, and a heavy coconut fell from the branches and landed just a foot away from Finn.

Kang looked where it fell with surprise, then up at the tree top, and regarded it with an expression of anxiety. Deciding that might not be the best place to rest, he took his coconut, and the one that fell up under his arm, and went closer to the water line. He found a chunk of wooden planks nailed to crossbeams sticking out of the sand. It made a decent platform to recline on, so that's what Finnegan did, and he rolled the unopened coconut across it. He took a few more sips, then laid back to watch the clouds and hum. It was not a bad day.
Adversity is like a strong wind. It tears away from us all but the things that cannot be torn, so that we see ourselves as we really are.
