Watcher

Appearance

Race: Pycon
Gender: Male
Age: 2 years
Birthday: 1st Spring 512
Birthplace: Zeltiva

Appearance: Watcher is a roughly 7-8 pounds of a gray to white clay. As with many pycons, his form constantly changes with his surroundings. However Watcher is fascinated by Eypharians and things with many legs. His usual form is that of a 12 inch tall Eypharian statue but occasionally he can be seen as a stylized octopus or spider.

Character Concept

Watcher gets his name from the unnerving stares and attention to detail. Like most of his race he is curious, driven and lives in the moment. The difference is how he accomplishes this. Rather than travelling the world and taking his life into his hands with ill thought out risks, he throws himself into craft and scholarly pursuits. His intense curiosity leads him to ask many questions, pick things up quickly, and to try new things whenever possible.

For a pycon, he is rather introverted though. But only as far as pycon go. Watcher spends more time in his own thoughts then voicing them. He does however enjoy socializing with his fellow pycon and the tall folk, especially over craft and trade things. He does intend on travelling the world in search of his final form, but currently he feels that Harameus has shown him that through creation he might be able to find his true form.

He is fascinated and taken with the act of creating and making something from nothing. His desire to craft things causes him to seek many masters of various crafts. He is aware of his size limitation and uses his small size to his advantage. The fact that he is small simply means that he excels at detail work. With keen sight and small hands and limbs he is able to achieve rather intricate work. He can actually do most of the same work that the tall folk can, however it takes him a bit longer on his own.

Over time his personality has changed, stretched, twisted and been impressed much like the clay of his body, so much so that what he was years before shares little resemblance to his personality now. His personality may continue to change and shift drastically in the future as well based on the adventures he will have.

Character History

Watcher has lived mainly in Zeltiva for most of his short life. He was born on the day of the Djed storms and while auspicious, the event is like a legend for him; Something that almost does not believe. The two years that he has spent living in the city he has gotten into all manner of escapades and mischief, from exploring the dangerous East street and Denvali quarter, to pranking the scribes and students at the University.

Lately he his personality has mellowed out as his drive focuses in on creative and scholarly pursuits.

Gnosis
Izentor : HD Link

Gillar's notes :
Izurdin occasionally marks a non-Isur as a way to nurture and build upon the individual's creative skill and where they take it. Watcher has been marked by Izurdin however, as a Pycon, he will have to work hard to prove to Izurdin that he is worthy of the mark. Thus, in any future thread where he invokes Izentor, there will need to be a good amount of focus on Izurdin as he relates to the ideas of strength, patience and industry (creating, refining and striving for perfection). Izurdin could remove the mark at any point if he feels Watcher is not dedicating himself enough to his work.

Something else to keep in mind is that non-Isur will only ever have the tatoo form of the mark as only Isur get the special arm.

Finally some tips to help with using Izentor:

Izentor isn't just spending a little time concentrating before enchanting something. It is a heavily involved process where the character focuses and meditates on the item they wish to impart upon. They will spend a lot of time initially examining, feeling, basically understanding the item to be imparted upon so that they know every curve, angle, edge, imperfection, texture, etc. Following this, they will go into a meditative state where they focus on a life event when they have done something personally significant and challenging; where they've overcome some adversity. The event is different for every item crafted. The idea is to gain a greater understanding of one's own strengths as well as weaknesses. This helps with gaining a better understanding of one's self which is essential to Izentor and the imparting of a sliver of self into the item.

These types of threads are often rather significant where the entire thread is spent just on the Izentor process from beginning to end for a single item. The character is then left completely exhausted and temporarily crippled from the exertion of splitting their soul, even if just the tiniest of pieces, and packing it into an item.
