The Lab of Erikus and Erikur

Deep beneath the Citadel, further down even than the Furugudjunn, is an old laboratory. A dusty, old laboratory that seems, at first glance, uninhabited. It is far from so however. It is the battleground for a war that has been raging almost as long as the Citadel has stood. A battle between Good and Evil; a war between brothers.

The lab was once home to Master Maledictor Erikus and his brother, a Master Magecrafter named Erikur. Two great Alehean mages who joined the Citadel just a few years before the Valterrian occurred. The lab is still home to these brothers however in quite a different form than they arrived in. Erikus and Erikur roam the laboratory as ghosts locked in an everlasting feud over whose fault it was that they both died. Both brothers believe it to be the other brother's fault and have dedicated their eternity to ceaseless bickering and, occasionally, violent clashes utilising their ghostly abilities to undermine and harm each other futilely and they are not above roping outsiders into joining their fight with promises of locked away treasures or, in some cases, forced possession.

The lab itself consists of three 'areas'. When you enter the lab you are greeted with a semi-large cavern lit by a sparse amount of candles, that have burnt for centuries and never ran out, that cast a dim light about the place. To one side of the cavern is a small building hewn into the rock with a heavy, padlocked wooden door.

This is the lab of the Magecrafter Erikur and inside is a pretty banged up Magecrafting lab. It is more or less intersected in half by a collapsed wall of rubble. Both sides of the lab are kept meticulously clean by the spirit of Erikur who has thusly been unable to remove the partition himself. The side of the lab inaccessible by the door houses Erikus' vault of Magecraft items. It is said that there are some great treasures hidden away inside his vault. Treasures that he will usually promise to you in exchange for helping him sort out his good-for-nothing brother.

On the other end of the cavern is a natural cave formation that houses Erikus' malediction lab if you can call it a lab at all. It's much more like an animal slaughtering house containing racks for dead animals to hang from, bloody metal tables and an impressive assortment of knives and cutting equipment. Erikus spends most of his days sharpening his knives and hatching plots to get rid of his treacherous brother once and for all. Sometimes, however, he will wander around the cavernse searching for someone or something to carve up as a trophy. He has numerous 'unfinished' projects rotting away in his lab that just need a drop of a possessed victim's blood to activate. However you might not want to volunteer quite as much blood as there are unfinished projects. One doesn't want to weaken themselves too much in front of a ghost who might just make you his next unfinished project.

The incident itself was an explosion triggered by an unstable Magecraft project exploding. One day, after Erikus had been out hunting he came to see his brother trailing mud into his very clean lab. Erikur was, of course, furious about this and launched into a tirade nagging Erikus for his lazy, messy ways. Erikus responded with anger and soon the two full grown men were wrestling on the floor. One thing lead to another and somebody knocked the podium too hard and the project fell over exploding instantly. It is said that the two were bickering so insistently when they met Lhex that he just sent them back to deal with this argument amongst themselves before they passed on. This is incredibly unlikely however and it was probably more of a matter of them not being able to let go the rage they felt for each other at that moment and they still haven't been able to let go.

Erikus

Appearence: Erikus is featured in the Right of the Picture.
Race: Ghost

Skills:
Malediction 78
Soulmist Projection 62
Materialisation 36
Possession 58

Personality: Erikus was always messy and disorganised in his mortal life and he has taken this trait with him into the afterlife although this does not mean he is lazy, as his brother attests to vehemenously, but rather that he cares little for presentation. Erikus was always about the next project; about seeing the hidden potential in things; which is a trait both brothers share. Erikus just never felt the need to be flashy about it. His brother constantly picked on him for his 'laziness' when he was younger so he despises those like his brother who prefer to walk about 'all smart and clean'. It seemed to him, at the time, that it was Erikur's inability to let his disorganisation go that caused the incident and when Erikur counter-accused him he flew into a rage he hasn't quite been fully able to shake since.

Erikur

Appearence: Erikur is featured in the Left of the Picture.
Race: Ghost

Skills:
Magecraft 78
Soulmist Projection 36
Materialisation 62
Possession 58

Personality: Erikur has always been an obsessively cleanly and orgainised person from the moment he realised his toys looked better when arranged by height. He cannot physically stand the sight of disorganisation which is what lead to many of the clashes he and his brother had during their living life but, at the end of the day, Erikur always had a very strong bond to his brother. Deep inside Erikur had never wanted to hurt Erikus and this is why he is so angry at his borther for blaiming him for their deaths which, ironically, made him turn to violence against his own brother in the afterlife. He still avoids it most of the time but, just like his brother, this feud has consumed him.
