Race: Svefra Age: 19 Birth Date: 13th of Spring, 495 A.V.
Appearance: Tyrion looks like, to put it simply, a scruffy rogue with the tanned weathered skin of a lifelong seafarer. And such a description would be perfectly true. His hair tends to be worn in thick dreadlocks down his back, his clothes (when he bothers with them) tend to consist of leathers when on land and comfortable, easy to move in cloth when aboard ship. Its rare for anyone to see him without his trusty trident, unless he is stuck in a particularly stuffy city, in which case he contents himself with his favorite knife, usually secreted somewhere on his person.
Concept:
Standing at about 6'2 and with a tendency to be overly boisterous and confrontational many take him for a pirate or brigand of some sort, but in truth he is merely a simple fisherman, at least for now. Soon enough he hopes to find himself a pod to join, but until then he plans to exercise in his favorite hobbies. Singing, and rabble rousing.
Due to certain circumstances, Tryion left his own family a year ago in order to explore a life on his own, completely unfettered by any bonds of loyalty. He goes from port to port, running small shipments and small groups of passengers for a little extra cash or trade and generally doing his best to survive his voyages. When in port he often acts as a bard at seaside taverns for meals or sells what fish he can catch in the coastal waters.
History: Tyr had a rather typical childhood for a Svefra, with little of actual note ever happening. As a rather small and reclusive family the Moontide pod had no more than a single Palivar and two Casinor for personal fishing trips. Due to their reclusive nature the Moontide's preferred to stay on the water as much as possible, and very rarely put into port. In the 18 years of life before he struck out on his own, Tyr could count the number of times the pod stopped at a true harbor with his fingers alone, and the number of times they met with, and enjoyed the company of, other Svefra with only marginally greater difficulty.
More often than not they spent their time sailing the Suvan and fishing, with little interest in anything else. It was an easy life, a simple life, but not exactly one that Tyrion wanted for himself. From an early age he was adventurous, even for a Svefra. With a tendency to swim off on his own on special adventures, he often found himself being dragged back to the ships by one of his family members Tavan when still in the ocean, or by a disgruntled member of the family when he managed to make it to land. The fact that he survived his childhood at all was a surprise to most of his family.
As he grew older his curious nature never quite settled, but took on a slightly different form. He developed a love of music, finding the bawdy tunes sung by his family in ties of celebration entrancing. When he wasn't busy helping his family with the nets or spearing larger fish with his trident, he learned as many of the songs as his family knew, and even began to make up his own. It was around age six that Tyr made his first, and so far only, tavan. A playful sea otter named, creatively, Otto.
Together the two caused mischief, fished, and played. Otto was even known to show up whenever Tyrion began to sing or play, happily whistling to the tune or making other noises in an attempt at joining in on the fun. It was in his teens that Tyr seriously began to feel the sirens call of new places and new people, singing to him from distant shores. He grew increasingly restless in the small community we was born into, and began to work towards earning his own Casinor, and the right to do as he wished with it.
At 18 one of the older members of the pod, a man who had always been rather partial to the troublesome young Tyrion, finally surrendered himself to Laviku's eternal embrace and left his Casinor to Tyr. Soon after that Otto, havign lived a full and happy life for one of his kind, faded due to old age. With his own ship at last, and the death of his Tavan, Tyrion was truly ready for a change. He set out from his pod in search of new and interesting shores, and the adventures that would surely come with them.
