Wotan's appearance is unconventional and usually draws the attention of those around him. Standing around 6.4ft in height and weighing almost 250lbs, he is an imposing figure who's body has been modelled into muscle by his many years, hunting, gathering and general survival in the wild. Wotan regularly uses the blue dye from the Doglo plant leaves to paint his body in personal symbolism which he holds in deep regard these blue symbols contrast his bright orange eyes. His blue Tattoo's are what draws the eyes of the general population. Intricate designs of wolf, bear, fish and bird all bare on his skin which show his deep respect, admiration and love for the wilds.
From a distance, Wotan appears fierce and barbaric with his auburn shaggy beard and long unkempt hair. Most see him as a son of the wild, clad in heavy furs from all manner of beasts. His clothes are many wore for the survival benefits they possess. Thick furs to keep the cold and wetness at bay, while providing adequate cover when he is in amongst the trees and foliage. His most recognisable piece of attire is his bear claw bracers crafted from the Bear Mother that almost took his life while gathering herbs, Wotan used the bears fangs to fashion himself a necklace that he uses to respect the memory of the bear that taught him much. Wotan also wears an Ushanka, a large, thick hat that covers the ears and keeps out the cold. On his right shoulder he wears a decorated bull's skull which hosts an intricate design, while is provides him with protection, it also symbolises his relationship with things deceased. He also carries with him a hardwood bramble spear that he uses as his medium for spiritual thoughts as personal trinkets recovered from past experiences dangle from its branches, it also serves a duel propose being used as hefty, strong weapon. |
Wotan is mostly seen as a jovial, friendly but sometimes odd hermit that seeks to live his life in peace. Having spent most of his time out in the wild, only regularly returning to civilisation to acquire supplies as well as putting his healing talents to use, Wotan is a deeply spiritual person that often answers questions with other questions, hoping for those who he is engaged with pick up the subtle but meaningful hints and answers he leaves behind in his speech.
Wotan regularly user of emotional, mental and spiritual enhancing drugs like mushrooms or incenses believing them to be almost gate ways to further understanding. Although his personality can be slightly altered to show different traits of personality like surprise or doubt from the drugs affects, he still always remains in control due to his vast experience. It is not uncommon for Wotan to wonder around in the middle of a drug caused hallucination, interested in the smallest of things only to be able to come back to grips with reality and hold a "relatively normal" conversation.
Although accepting, respectful and friendly, Wotan does not tolerate the exploitation of the wilderness nor the forcefulness of some faiths and can get upset and sometimes aggressive when confronted with this. He also can get quite carried away when his yearning for spiritual exploration takes a hold causing some to think he is a fool or a madman.

Born on the extreme outskirts of the port city of Zeltiva in a small thatched hut, Wotan's life was one which his mother, A huntress who sold her kill in the markets of the city, taught him valuable skills of survival. Zeltiva was a city renowned for its logical thinking through its universities and well educated populace, Wotan however was led upon a different path, living off the land and exploring his own deep spirituality with guidance from his mother as well as his own thoughts, much to the disapproval of the cities more "educated" people.
Wotan never felt at home within the busy streets surrounded by the stone buildings, his true home was surrounded by trees, feeling the bare ground beneath his feet, listening to the birds sing and the waters coursing down stream while feeling the crisp fresh air circulate around his lungs. throughout his early life, his mother showed him basic instruction on catch small animals like rabbit and wood chicken for food, beneficial plants, herbs and their purpose such as Connal, Jile and Tolm and most importantly extensive wilderness survival knowing full well her son would follow a life on the road and amongst the woods of the land. During that time, Wotan developed his own understanding of spirituality bordering on shamanistic beliefs and regularly spent time thinking on all topics trying to answer them with his own thoughts.
Everything changed a few years later. While with his mother stalking deer on the higher slopes outside the city, they came across a large bear feasting upon fresh kill. Enraged by the perceived threat the bear roared and charged at them both. Screaming for her son to run back to their home, she shouted, promising she'd be right behind him while firing arrows, distracting the beast. Sprinting through the trees for what seemed for hours, Wotan burst through the door and collapsed on the floor for exhaustion. He soon awoke to the sound of rain battering on the thatched rooftop of their house. Hours and hours passed as he waited, clutching tight the feathered pillow that rested upon his mother bed. Finally Breaking down with tears, Wotan soon realised his mother had sacrificed herself for him. Her sweet boy.
Days passed, before he found the courage to return to the area of his mothers death, fearing what he'd find. Following the trail slowly, all he found of his mother was her favourite Ushanka hat speckled in blood. Grasping the Ushanka tight, Wotan made his way down the hillside to his home.
Over time, the grief and despair at the loss of his mother slowly healed as he continued hunting and gathering herbs to support his cost of living. Although the wilderness claimed his mother, he still felt unconditional love for it and refused to give into hate and anger, this began Wotan on his spiritual journey, regularly taking the time to have reflective periods of introspective thought. Feeling the time was right, Wotan left find further experiences in the physical, mental and emotion sense that would make him stronger as well as deepen his spiritual connections with the world.
