Edgar

Basic Information
Race:Zith
Birthday:Winter of 502(11)
Sex:Male
Language:Fluent-common, Basic-Zith, Poor-Vani

Physical Description
Edgar is 6' feet tall and about 140 pounds. His entire body is covered in grey silky fur, except for a white streak on his right shoulder where he has a scar from hunting. The thicker, longer patches from his elbows and knees are pitch black and his wings, which he keeps wrapped around himself like a cloak, are the same color with some mild scaring creating small lines of white. His eyes are red and his hair is short and black. He is well muscled, though perhaps less so than most Zith, and has a somewhat rugged look about him.

Character Concept
Edgar walks a fine line between his peaceful upbringing and his more volatile instincts. On the one hand; Edgar is a usually quite and withdrawn person, usually hanging back in the shadows to avoid being noticed. When dealing with people, especially those whom he does not really know, he can be rather awkward. He has a tendency to stammer when he talks(Ironically, when he gets excited or really wrapped up into something he tends to speak more clearly) and has trouble reading social ques. Despite his introverted personality Edgar is a slave to his morals, immediately springing into action to help others in need before taking the time to think things through. Even though afterwards he may beat himself up over exposing himself the attention of others he never makes any attempt to change this habit and is secretly proud of his selfless moments.

On the other hand, Edgar is still is a Zith and has all of the instincts that come with the breed. When faced with aggression or frustration he has to consciously focus on not immediately jumping into a violent rage, and even then if the stimulate persists he will more than likely snap. He also tends to come more to life in the dark or during the night and feels more confident in such an environment. The Zith curiosity and passion are very much alive within Edgar and he embraces these aspects of himself much more willingly.
Likes: Curious things, books, sweets, dark places, hunting, Akajia(read about her, never meet.)
Dislikes: The sun, loud noises, alcohol(If he drinks it he leans more toward instinct)

Character History

Pregame
Edgar was stumbled upon during the winter of 502 a.v. A small convoy had decided to used a cave as shelter during a storm and found Edgar, who was only a few days old as far as anyone could tell, in the arms of a dead, elderly female Zith. Among the convoy was a human researcher by the name of Tornos Cornilian. Cornilian saw the situation as a perfect opportunity to conduct an experiment in how much of one's personality is a result of nature and how much of it lies in one's upbringing and environment. He took in the small Zith, named him after his father, and raised as his own.

When Cornilian reached home he had no trouble convincing his wife and fellow researcher Lilion Cornilian and 14 year old son Merion Cornilian to assist him in the raising of Edgar and to treat him like family. Edgar grew up a member of the Cornilian family with little incident in his first few years. He was more rambunctious than the Cornilians anticipated, but by the time he reached an age to where he could do some real damage they had taught him to be more gentle, taking him out for regular hunting trips and long runs to help him expend his energy. Unfortunately for the Cornilians, this peaceful life would not last long with Edgar.

Merion and Edgar quickly took to each other, viewing each other more as brothers than as researcher and experiment. And as brothers they would often sneak out of the house together to play. During this point in his life Edgar was a rather outgoing child and had many friends with whom he would play while Merion would hang around to keep an eye on him. One night, after the brothers had snuck out and joined there friends, the father of one of the children approached them. He was drunk and started yelling at them all, pulling his child away by the arm and loudly reprimanding for sneaking out to play with "Cornilian's little pet freak." Merion intervened and tried to calm the man, who by this point had nearly pulled his son's arm out of its socket. The man's response to this was to hit Merion over the head with a bottle. In that moment young Edgar's instincts took over and he leaped on the man in a fit of violet rage, breaking his nose, jaw, and arm before guards showed up and pulled him off. Tornos was able to convince the guards to not arrest Edgar and rule it all as self defense, but that didn't stop opinions in town from turning against the Cornilians. Even though most people acknowledged that Edgar was simple protecting Merion, the idea of a Zith in their town was never a popular one and enough people where convinced by the whole thing that he was a threat to the town. Within a year Tornos decided that the best thing for Edgar and his family was to move out.

The Cornilians set themselves up in a cottage in a more secluded part of Sylira, where they managed to live with little incident. Edgar didn't have many interactions with people outside of the Cornilians for years after that night, and the few that he did have were hard any better. All this left Edgar more self conscious about what he was. He withdrew into himself and spent a long time in a self loathing depression. Eventually Edgar started to come back out of his shell, and with Merion's encouragement and Tornos' blessing he started to involve himself more with other people and eventually decided that it was time for him to set out on his own. After a bit of research and some advice from Tornos, Edgar decided to head out for a major trade city. Alvadas.

In Game
Upon arriving at Alvadas Edgar found himself wandering the streets aimlessly, sticking to the shadows with his hood up to avoid being noticed. As he wandered he noticed a young boy steal a stranger's(Darkalin Pinewood) sword. As the thief ran past him Edgar grabbed the child and made him return the sword. Afterwards Edgar and Darkalin Pinewood, as well as Phobius shared a meal at a restaurant called "The Rose"
