Regwa Monte Appearance Race: Human Gender: Female Age: 18 Birthday: 83rd of Spring, 496 Birthplace: Syliras Appearance: Regwa is thin and taller than average, standing at 5’6”. Her skin is brown, as are her eyes. Her dark hair is long and wavy and she generally wears it loose or in a single ponytail on her back. Character Concept Regwa is a serious, intellectually inclined person. She likes reading and learning and relies more on her intelligence than any physical prowess. She thinks analytically, logically and likes things to be organized and to fit a set of rules. Laws and rules are important to her, because she believes they exist for a good reason and that people wouldn’t be able to get anything done without them. This is why she feels perfectly at home in Syliras, where law and order is everywhere. Her strong points are theoretical learning, organization and observation, but she may sometimes find the practical application of her skills harder. When faced with a situation that doesn’t fit “the rules” (be it official ones or just logic/common sense), or when under pressure and without enough time to think, she may start to get nervous or in the case of the latter, panic. Still, when she learns a skill she wants to learn it well and strives for perfection. Though generally a serious person Regwa does have a sense of humor, which mostly expresses itself in the form of dry or sarcastic comments. She likes having conversations with people, but is not very good at expressing her emotions. Then again, she is an honest person and is not afraid to be open about anything she finds difficult. In others she tolerates pretty much everything, unless, of course, it breaks the rules. Regwa was raised by her parents to honor the goddess of logic and order Gnora, but she has taken to worshipping Eyris as the goddess of knowledge and learning. She has gotten into the habit of saying a short prayer every morning to thank her in advance for any learning opportunities that may present themselves. Character History Regwa has lived in Syliras all her life. There she lives with her parents, who own and manage a smithy. She has spent most of her childhood helping around in the house and doing chores, and was homeschooled by her mother. Her mother had been a student at the University of Zeltiva in her youth, where she learned about the basics of magic and Projection in particular, and she taught what she knew to her daughter. When she was 15, the relationship between the Monte family members became troubled. Her mother had begun to feel increasingly ill at home in the orderly city of Syliras, being a more free-spirited person than most there. She decided to visit Endrykas, as she was distantly related to the Drykas. As she learned more it became her passion and she visited more often, bringing Regwa with her several times. As she spent time “getting in touch with her ancestors”, Regwa and her father, who were much more alike in character, weren’t happy seeing Regwa’s mother turning her back on Syliras, the city where she had lived practically all her life. Currently (Summer 514 AV) Regwa’s mother is on her way to Endrykas, planning to stay there for one Run. Regwa’s father hadn’t had the heart to stop his wife from exploring her passion, but Regwa is less forgiving in her views, seeing her mother as a traitor to her family for choosing distant ancestors over her husband and child. As her mother had helped managing the financial side of her father’s smithing work, Regwa’s father now has to focus completely on his business. Regwa decided to move out and/or find a job, to save her father her living expenses. With her skills in magic she figured she would join the Syliran Knights as a Mage-Squire. She had always appreciated the Knights and their work for keeping order in the city. In her eyes becoming a Knight was a fine and honorable career choice, so the next day she set off to the recruitment office. Other trivia: Regwa is a family name from her mother’s side of the family. She doesn’t like being named after a figure from Drykas mythology. During the trips to Endrykas is when she learned to ride a horse and acquired her very limited understanding of Pavi. She likes practicing magic, and after she learned her first discipline she felt a strong need to learn more. She started experimenting with shielding on her own.
