Character Concept

An aspiring Animator / Blacksmith.

Her father once was an adventurer, wielding a large spear. After several adventures he received a wound that prohibited him from further adventuring, so he took up smithing. Her mother, an adept animator, helps him in the blacksmith, tending to the customers. She taught Nennara the basics of animation.

Working in the smithy and seeing what sort of customers pass made her father afraid of letting her too loose. Due to this, Nennara lacks quite a few social skills and she's pretty shy to outsiders.

Yet, she wants to stand on her own two feet. With a bit of a hassle her parents agreed to let her go. Now Nennara stands at the eve of a new life. The only question is, how will she live it?

Character History

Nennara had a fairly simple childhood. Her parents raised her close and she was homeschooled. Her father was fairly protective of her, which prevent her from meeting many other children. Nennara didn't mind, she didn't know better.

During her youth, her mother gave her an object, a small clay object, resembling a golem. Her mother told her how she met a real version of it in Sahova. Nennara was sad that her mother couldn't animate it, but she was stil entertained. She loved the little fake golem and cherished it. The object drove her to listen extra carefully during her mother's teachings on animation.

The rest of her time was spent following her father around in the smithy, watching him work. She loved how he could create such fine weapons from a simple iron bar. But she also felt that these weapons were capable of much more than what most did with them.

As she grew older, her interest in both the smithing and the magic of animation grew. Yet, she still wasn't going out much, staying indoor most of her time. The few times she did go out, was usually because her father was training her with a weapon. He wanted her to be strong enough to fend for herself. Nennara loved the spear, but she felt she couldn't be agile enough with it. She still learned, because it was the weapon her father knew best.

Due to the homeschooling and her father's stance, Nennara was shy of most other human contact. She never got used to interacting with other humans and had little knowledge of the proper etiquette. This also led to her being slightly naive in her trust for others.

As she approached the age of 18, Nennara felt she had to get away from the always watching eyes of her parents. It was the only way to have a chance at leading a more normal life. Secretly she saved up to eventually buy her own room in Stormhold Castle. She knew her father would forbid it and her mother would help her. But she felt she had to do this on her own. At her 18th birthday, she made her decision known to her parents. As was expected, her father was furious. It still took the turn of a season to calm him down. Eventually, they both agreed to give Nennara this chance.

Now Nennara has started living in her new room. She's ready to meet a new world and new people, or perhaps it might not go as easily as she expected. The voices in the hall outside scare her a bit. But she has to be strong!
