Appearance: Jae is 5 foot eight, with almond skin and jet black hair with streaks of shimmering blue. He usually keeps it in spikes, held up with water frozen into the tips. His eyes change with his mood like all Vantha. Other than that jae is usually a quiet unassuming and unintimidating person if one were to look at him. He is of slight and slender build but no one would say he was muscular.
Character ConceptJaear Frostfawn, or 'Jae' for short, is a very young Vantha. A quiet, yet determined, young man Jae is eager to prove himself of some worth to his beloved hold. Jae, however, does not feel any calling to a particular field of work. As a Frostfawn he has always felt drawn to animals and feels a special bond with them.
Jae also feels a drive to prove himself because of his young age. In just two years he becomes of age as a Vantha adult and he fears he will not earn a gnosis mark from the great Goddess Morwen. It is a rite of passage for most vantha to receive the snowflake mark. He also fears he will not be able, if he so chooses for he is not particularly interested in it, to award a sizable bride price as many Vantha marry when coming to age. Jae prefers the option when and if the time comes.
Jae never misses an opportunity to help or give of himself even when it puts him in danger or a difficult position. He is often impulsive and acts before he thinks which puts him in all sorts of predicaments most of the time.
Jae feels most at home in the wilderness, though due to his lack of the Ice Reaving gnosis he can't stay out for more than a few hours, six at most, in the frozen talderan wilds.
Jae is a jack of many skills and master of none. He would say he wasn't even a jack at any of his known skills. As such, any job he would get would be extremely difficult, if not perilous, to perform due to his inexperience. Though due to his personality and love of nature, hunting would be a welcome profession.
Character HistoryAs he is only fourteen, jae doesn't have much of a history to speak of. Though, some events have shaped his present. Thoughout his childhood his mother and father taught him many different things, never staying on one subject longer than several months from the time he was 12 to the time he was 13. This has made Jae knowledgable about the bare bones basics of many things. This makes him overconfident in his survival abilities and his skills, though if tested he would falter under even the most unskilled practitioner of any of his learned skills. This overconfidence and lack of experience makes anything dangerous exceedingly perilous to the young overconfident Vantha. By the time he was thirteen Jae lost his parents. They arn't dead...or at least Jae doesn't believe this to be the case. His parents simply went off to a hunting trip and never returned. Due to this and his fathers hold, the Frostfawn's adopted young Jae into their hold and have taken care of him for the most part for which Jae is eternally grateful. Presently, Jae strives to find his place in the frozen north and among the Frostfawns and earn their respect and trust rather than being sheltered like a cub.

Heirloom: a battered and weathered ordinary shortbow of common quality passed on from his father and a set of weathered tools including a hunting knife, carving knife, chisel, and a carvers mallet all of poor quality and extremely beaten up.

House: 1 basic 20x20 Arvinta in a Hold with a hearth, bunk, chest, chair, and small table.
Each Arvinta consists of a communal meeting or sitting room. Then there are private rooms for couples, and a common sleeping/living room for all the children. Visitors are often given a private room, while a couple will move in with the children to make extra room. Some of the larger, more expansive Holds with wealthier families have spare rooms in their Arvinta or special guest quarters when people move from place to place visiting. Holds often have common areas and craft cottages in buildings attached and are always made of solid stone. External buildings are often built from ice and warmed from within by special braziers that conduct heat into the room but do not melt the thick ice walls. A Hold may contain multiple Arvintas and might hold upwards of a couple hundred people.
