Eyes: Brown Hair: Brown Skin: Tan General Appearance:As a human, Naiomi appears to be in her late teens to early twenties. She is considered a rather unpleasant girl to look at. All of the possible traits she could have inherited from her Kelvic form that would not be considered attractive, she did. Her ears are far too large for her face, so large in fact that they tend to droop forward some, the cartilage within unable to support their size. She has copious amounts of loose skin, especially around her face. There are large folds and wrinkles of skin around her eyes and throat. Rather than sweat to rid herself of heat as a normal person would, Naiomi pants like dogs do and sweats only from her hands, feet, and nose. Her hands and feet are heavily calloused, not to the point that they are visible, but this trait can easily be recognized by touch. Her canines are slightly elongated, but this trait is hardly noticeable.   Bloodhound Appearance Height: 24” Weight: 81 lbs. Eyes: Brown Fur: Red with Black Pigmentation around the Eyes and Nose General Appearance:As a Kelvic, Naiomi is a full-grown bloodhound. She is of the red variety with black coloration around her nose and eyes. She has all the spectacular attributes of a dog of the breed. She has drooping eyelids, sagging jowls, a wrinkly face, and long ears, but best of all, she has a hound’s nose. With all of these traits, she is an excellent tracker, as her breed was designed to be. The wrinkles and ears help to trap and direct scents toward her nostrils which were designed to be the best in nature. Her neck and shoulders are powerful, allowing her to keep her nose to the ground for lengthy periods when she needs to track something. History Naiomi was born to a nameless Kelvic slave on the plantations of Kenash. Taking after her mother’s lineage, the pup soon showed herself to be a bloodhound and was quickly taken in by a man who trained her for tracking. Her master was a man from the desert, but his experience with dogs and training them had come from Avanthal and the Zypherian sled dogs. It was through his training that she learned a good amount of Vani and a touch of Arumenic. Her early years were spent playing “The Game.” This was what Master had told her they were doing as they tracked people wandering in the swamplands that surrounded the plantations, playing a game in which people ran and Naiomi had to find them. Though she was young and her nose untrained, Naiomi quickly began to excel at the Game but never could understand why everyone was such poor sports about it when they lost. In truth, she was tracking escaped slaves, but Master didn’t want to have to explain slavery to her and have that knowledge ruin her passion for tracking. As it often happens, children meet, and Naiomi found herself bonded to a young slave girl named Heulwen. Though the two were inseparable aside from when Naiomi played the Game with Master, a rift began to grow between them. Naiomi, still not understanding slavery, didn’t know why, but eventually, the rift grew to the severing of their bond and Heulwen’s joining of the Rujaro. Seeing the danger Naiomi was in at the hands of the Rujaro, Master moved them both to Syliras where her skills could be put to use aiding the hunters. Concept Naiomi is an odd creature, almost always finding herself in a child-like mood, full of wonder and hope, always fascinated with life and very difficult to make unhappy. Her endless optimism can make her come across as a touch simple. She is always loyal, dogged, and dedicated in everything she does. She finds herself easily fascinated by many things. Anything new, she finds exciting for several days at least. As with many Kelvics, Naiomi never learned to read or write, so watching other people do so has become another fascination of hers. To her, writing is as beautiful as art, but it is abstract as she sees no meaning in the strokes. The game of fetch is highly entertaining to her, even though she realizes there is no point to it. She is just as happy throwing a ball as she is being the one to fetch it. One of her favorite things is mirrors. For the longest time, she didn’t realize the person on the other side was herself, and when someone finally told her, she felt ashamed that she had not known. She is still confounded by the fact that the woman in the mirror is her and is often distracted by reflective surfaces for hours at a time. Having never had possessions of her own in the plantations of Kenash, Naiomi is content with life as it is. Her only real desire is to keep her friends safe and happy and to make new friends. That being said, she does enjoy the fact that she now has possessions. She often spends money on useless things but views each one as a treasure.
