Race: Kelvic
Gender: Female
Age: 3 Years
Birthday: 27, Winter, 510 av.
Birthplace: Taldera

Appearance: In her human form, Nia is short by nearly any measure. Standing at only 5'2” and weighing barely a hundred pounds, her slender, birdly human form belies her sometimes violent personality and mountain lion animal form. Her shoulder length black hair, despite often being well brushed and pulled back, appears wild and just a bit unkempt. Despite her size, her dark eyed gaze is predatory and can unnerve men twice her size and thanks to her wild cat side, she might even be able to put up a good fight to back up that gaze. While her personality itself is quite feral, the thing that most gives her kelvic breeding away is the way she positively prowls, even in her smaller human form. In contrast to her delicate human form, her mountain lion form is pure, rippling muscle. With crushing jaws and slashing claws, she is a force to be reckoned with and a powerful huntress.

Character Concept

While Nia has mellowed considerably (compared to her younger days, at least) in just the last seasons as adulthood finally sets in, she is still a rather mischievous and sometimes overly aggressive wild child. Her personality is very much shaped by the wild cat form she often prefers. She has not yet quite adapted to living in a city rather than with the caravans and traveling parties she has spent a large portion of her adolescent seasons with. While she often comes across as a little mentally unstable, it is mostly from her lack of understanding (or care to recognize) social etiquettes and structures.

She has little care for gods and takes little notice of religions. She knows nearly nothing of magic besides what little she has seen in her travels. (Though there is some confusion on her part as to what constitutes magic. As far as she is considered a talented slide of hand trick and casting proper magic are one and the same.) There is much she doesn't know about the world; which doesn't really bother her.

Her lack of direction has finally started to ware at her and is beginning to express itself in sudden outbursts of unkind mischief.

Character History

Born from her mouse kelvic mother into a litter of three, Nia was a bit of an outside from the beginning. Though she was raised by her prolific breeder mother, she was also the only predatory kelvic born to the poor female. At a young age, she showed a hunter's instinct and—much to her entire family's dismay and abject horror—often wondered off to hunt around the outskirts of their city, returning proudly with her kills in maw and blood on paw. While she was never outright rejected or cast out by her family, it was clear from an early age that she did not belong. With no other predatory kelvics to guide her in her youth, her killer instincts and violent tendencies often get away from her leading to small massacres on hunts and terrifyingly rough play with her siblings.

Because of her wondering ways, her mother chose to give her the golden collar that had been in their family for many generations—despite the fact that she was neither the oldest nor the only daughter. The early inheritance served to further the rift between her and her siblings. To make matters worse, she lost the collar only days after receiving it. The revelation was the closest she had ever seen her family come to raising a hand to her. She re-discovered the collar shortly after her mother's death and took it as a sign.

Throughout her childhood and adolescence, Nia thought she could easily cast away the drive to find a bondmate. But with the loss of her mother and a rather vicious brawl with one of her mother's kelvic mates, she has seen fit to leave Taldera completely and seek out life beyond the cold winters and woods of her homeland.

Offering her services as a hunter to feed traveling caravans and larger traveling parties in exchange for safety in numbers. But with her rather unpredictable turns in temperament and predatory gaze, she is not always welcome for long. Ever since her arrival in Riverfall, however, her restless urges have subsided enough for her to take up residence again.

Heirloom: A gold kelvic collar and its key. It has been passed down from mother to daughter for more generations than anyone in her far flung family has been able to keep track of. While it is rather gaudy by Nia's taste, it is a trick that has managed to keep the inheritors free thus far.
