70th Day of Summer 514 AV
"Home looks a little different." Luca thought to himself. "I guess times are changing." He said looking at the buildings and people as he walked through the streets. He remembered when he had been a child. There had been fewer shops then. Most of the shops had been bigger too. Going back 15 years there had been less emphasis on catering to the niche market. Most shops had a few strings to their bow. But now there was a shop for everything and the less specific stores were few and far between. Of course some things hadn't changed. The coastline looked the same. The bay and mountains had been some of Luca's favourite things about living in Zeltiva growing up. He was glad they wouldn't be going anywhere. He wasn't opposed to progress, but it was hard seeing things he knew disappear. It had been the story of his life so far. It was a downside about travelling. When he came back to somewhere it never seemed as he remebered it. "Maybe I should just settle down in Zeltiva again. I highly enjoyed my time here as a child." He thought. "But then I'd have to watch the changes unfold slowly. That would probably be more painful than discovering them suddenly." Luca didn't often have plans. He lived each day at a time. If he felt opportunity existed in Zeltiva then he would take it. But if there was something to be found in travelling then he wouldn't hesitate to look elsewhere. He'd need to find some way of supporting himself sooner or later though. He'd been sleeping in doorways for quite a while now. He had a perfectly good house in Sultros that his parents had left him. So why he decided to journey back to Zeltiva for nothing but the scenery and old memories was a mystery. But Luca was a sentimental person. Nostalgia was reason enough. Sadly it didn't put food on the table or give him a place to sleep. He needed work. Not a career, but something short term. Above all, he needed money for a drink.
