Time: Spring 90 (?) 514 AV
Zarron set off into the fields in the early morning, leaving behind his strider that was stiffly asleep on the ground. Despite the cold weather, Zarron covered his horse with his blanket instead of himself. Dew glistened as the rising sun reflected off the individual drops on the tops of each blade of grass. The light that emanated was a deep gold. It had been many years since such peace and awe overtook his body. But it had to be short lived, for he was more occupied by the task at hand. He needed to hunt trough the area for anything he could use for food or tools. In his haste, he had left the market without acquiring a bow or arrows to hunt with. "Blasted Cold Weather" Zarron snarled as a sneeze left out his mouth.
Suddenly he spotted it. A bush with berries with a dark blue hue. While he would prefer meat or something to hunt with, he could easily manage with eating other foods. He rapidly picked them all, crushing several in his reckless manner. The juices lightly burned and tingled his finger tips. Zarron knew very little about plant life and the difference between safe food and hazardous food, so he stashed them in his cloak, wrapping them gently so as to avoid crushing his treasure. Then, once more he set off through the grass in search of materials for his bow.
The thick grass parted to the sides with each step. Meanwhile, small animals scurried away rapidly, fearing the young man's footsteps. A low rumble and growl suddenly drew off his attention. Zarron drew out his eating knife, knowing it would be better than nothing if It came to fighting. The growl got louder and more aggressive as Zarron continued forward, heading to what looked like a patch of short grass.
Grass rustled as the growling stopped. A small Copperin flew out toward Zarron. He had not seen much of this creature, but knew that it was normally a scared animal and rarely would attack. But this one was different. It snapped at his arms and legs, as if to give warning on what was going to happen if he continued forwards. He backed away slowly, fearing injury if he had continued towards whatever the Copperin was guarding. With a heavy sigh and several questioning looks back towards the Copperin, Zarron returned toward the sea air and the tents that he called home. The day was going to be starting soon and the stores would be open. Maybe, just maybe, he could get something to hunt with when he next visited the store.
