Day 11, Spring, 512 AV
Redd lifted her muzzle to the sky as she drew in a deep breath of the crisp, clean air of spring, allowing it to fill her lungs before she slowly pushed it out. The sun was shining down upon the earth in full strength and she felt its warmth upon her red pelt. The sun also reflected the other minor colours within her coat, much like the blacks and browns, the young wolf tended to think that this was what made her coat even more red and she quite liked it. It suited her name very well, well, she did name herself after her red coat so of course it would suit her name. She would shake her head before her ears flickered back to press against the back of her head, she had originally come out to enjoy the fresh air and the over-all seasonal change. Ever since that fateful day in the snow where she had thought that starvation would surely claim her, a sign had come in the form of a grey alpha wolf. Then as the winter snows blew over and Redd was treated just like a young pup, she had slowly gotten some meat back onto her bones and even some strength back.
Her golden hues took note of the flowers as they began to bloom their colour full and bright, almost as if the very season brought about some kind of brilliant change to such a plant. An ear pricked forwards as chirps filled the air with their morning song, birds flitted from one tree to the next, their young hatchlings could be heard from high up in their nests calling for food to fill their hungry stomachs. Spring, the young wolf had decided, was her favourite time of the year, for it held so much hope and life. It could almost give one a fever as her form was filled with so much hope and promise for the future. Hope, she never thought that such a thing could exist for herself, especially seeing as her own mother had kicked her out and she had to live off of whatever she could find. Indeed, near death by starvation could change one’s view and it could also make them appreciate what they had instead of taking it for granted. The one thing that Redd was never taking for granted, ever again, was food. Not that she had been old enough when she had been cast out to take food for granted in the first place.
Since that fateful day when the female alpha took her into the pack, she was treated much like a pup, just like the other pups that were three months younger than she was. There were three other pups, two straight greys, while the other grey had a black tipped tail. She had grown to consider them as brother and sisters, a bond that she had hoped wouldn’t go away. However, as soon as her strength began to return to her and she started to fill out on the provided meat, the pack had begun to take her out on hunts with them. Only to sit back and watch with the alpha pair so then she could learn a few basic hunting tricks. Today was her first day that she would actually be participating in the hunt with them, along with the three grey pups that were younger than she. One of the straight greys was a male and she tended to call him mentally as Slasher for he liked to lash out with his claws. The straight grey female, she liked to call her Cloud, while the grey with the black tipped tail, was Tippy. It was easier for her to distinguish them then with small little mental names.
