Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

Up and about since early morning, Prakash had regained his usual dominant position over the Akalak's dual nature, and the two were busy contemplating what to do with the particular gem they had received upon completion of the Society's puzzle-marathon during Summer. Both of them had forgotten about the chirpy greetergirl's advice yesterday, from the House of Stones, and neither could come up with something worthwhile. Best that came out of the pair was visiting a jewelcrafter or gemcutter for more information, which were hardly remarkable ideas.

'Damn it, we need to figure out what to do with this thing!'

'Relax, we'll figure it out, the only thing bothering me is that we're carrying it around so much lately. If we lose it, I doubt the finder is going to bother searching for its rightful owner!'

'Hm, you're right. I wish we could have a twin gem crafted, but I doubt it...Woah, what if we lost the message from Father? That's much more valuable than this stone!!'

'You've got a point, what do you say we try and let a copy get made of the parchment? Not like anyone is going to make sense of it anyhow, so nothing personal is revealed!'

The pair decided upon visiting the Valkalah Library to try and get a copy of the cryptic text scribbled on the parchment. After hanging the leather tube over their neck, with the parchment hidden inside, they set out towards the Library. Of course underway their Miza dropped and they decided it wouldn't hurt to follow Claire's, the greetergirl, advice and check out what information could be traced in the Library about the strange gem.

With Drath's constant reminder to be careful and not frollick about while carrying these precious items, Prakash walked fast and focused towards the Library. Quite unnatural for him as he's usually the carefree and aloof type, compared to Drath anyway, but since the sudden changes in everyone's attitude...He was probably the least odd Akalak in all of Riverfall.

After a short while they arrived at the clean and imposing building housing the Valkalah Library. Prakash and Drath remembered the story telling sessions he had attained from time to time as a child, especially those that involved mystery stories. His father used to accompany him, but those days are long gone. Prakash had to do his best not to let his mind wander down memory lane and Drath simply shut his mouth for a while until both of them were calm once again, before pushing open the large door of the Library.

~The Valkalah Library

A simple sigh caressed her lips as Lynx carried the newly bound book titled, ‘Wysar and Akajia: An Introduction to Riverfall's Gods.’ She had copied this book last season and it had only just recently been bound. The woman traced a hand over the leather cover, the fresh lettering stared up at her from the cover. While she had indeed copied this book, she barely read the words, for it took quite the concentration to copy the letters without blotching them so much. She crossed the room to seat herself at her favourite desk by a window, the light from Syna shining over her left shoulder and onto the desk top. It also made for a great spot to do her copying for her job here at The Valkalah Library, but whenever she had spare time, she would also sit in this spot to some reading, which was basically just research into topics that interested her. For instance, the Akalak that had taken an interest in this particular book which had led her to copying it. A fact that had been interesting to the lethafal, for she figured that most Akalaks would be aware of their race’s gods. He did say he was doing something that required more detail about their gods and so, it was, she supposed, a very good reason to do more reading.

However, as she had been copying the text herself, she had noted a couple of words standing out and those words had been
Leth and Syna. She knew that Syna was Leth’s lover and that was all she really knew about the goddess of the sun, however, she knew the tale of Leth and it intrigued her that Leth may be involved with other gods. Silently, she flicked through the vellum pages until she reached the topic about the goddess, ’Akajia.’ Lifting a hand, she gently caressed the page, the springy surface making something tingle within her mind, almost as if a memory was there but refused to come to the surface. A scoff settled upon her lips as she leaned back into her chair, her violet hues glaring at the book in front of her. Why wouldn’t her memories return? She furiously asked herself as she sat in the silence of the library for a brief moment, before leaning forwards to begin reading the book.

’"Akajia" is the Night Incarnate. Standing in the darkness, one is surrounded by her essence and cannot deny the night is a living, breathing thing. A woman. Dark. Endless.’

The moment that she had read these words, she gently bit down onto her bottom lip. A frown creased her features, her fingers sliding over the written words, the written words that she had copied. Sometimes she had felt that the night did breath, like it was alive, but she had always thought that that was because her father had illuminated it.
Could it really be true that this Riverfall god, ‘Akajia,’ was the night itself? She asked herself as she lifted her gaze in thought. Surrounded by her essence? She tilted her gaze so then it was drawn outside. Indeed, Lynx couldn’t deny that the night wasn’t living, as she enjoyed the feeling that she got from it. It felt more alive than that of the day time. Maybe she felt the living night around her more because she was the daughter of Leth, or perhaps it was because of her preference to the night time rather than the day. Was her preference for the night because she was in her ethaefal form then? Or did she hate the day time so much, because she was stuck inside of an earth bound form, that she barely had a shred of memory of ever living, during the day?

The Blue Ogre and the CopyCat?! (Lynx)

It wasn't every day that the Akalak visited the Valkalah Library, so its aroma of ancient and fresh paper, upon entering, was both pleasantly lingering and intrusive to him. Accompanied by the artisticly placed tiny marble bits and primed wooden floor, it gave the entire entrance to the Library a very authentic feel of stature to the building. Prakash couldn't help but lose focus when gazing upon the lively crafted marble wall 'paintings'. Most of them were relevant to the building they were placed in. Especially the fine details in the bookmarked tome and the almost paronamic scenery of a cliffside looking over a wide sapphire ocean, depicted by the small tidbit pieces of marble on the wall, were stunning to the beholder.

Drath was, as usual, the voice of reason as he urged Prakash on to the main room where the library was housed, rows upon rows of open bookshelves greeted him alongside the librarian's desk with its ever-present and kind attendant, the Head Librarian. Hooded and with his darkblue nose burried in a book, the knowledgeable Akalak was oblivious to Prakash standing before him until he was forced to let out a small cough to get hold of the older Akalak's attention. Unsurpisingly, the Librarian was as composed as expected of a man holding such responsability as to keep guard over all of Riverfall's tomes of knowledge.

"Greetings, how can I be of assistance?"

"Good day, Head Librarian, I was wondering if you were able to copy a text for me?"

"Oh no, my apologies, I have much too much on my plate right now to be able to help you with that, to be frank."

Prakash couldn't help but inadvertly put on a slightly disappointed look, he hadn't expected this response and while it may be of little importance to others, now that the Akalak realised how vulnerable the legacy of his father was, it was a matter of urgency to him.

Lynx had turned her attention back to the book, her violet hues, reading the written words upon the page quietly. ’Dependable to come; unpredictable upon arrival. Night will always fall. But she is not without boundaries.’ Well, yes Night would always come, there was never a day that the woman could remember that it didn’t. When the Valterrian had come and Leth had gotten injured, Syna had neglected her duties as the sun goddess to look after Leth, who could not attend to his own duties. A night had fallen heavily over the lands of Mizahar then and it had remain for a long time until Leth was healed and Syna then returned back to the sky to resume her duties. The lethafal did not remember the Valterrian nor of the dark and long nights and days, but she wished that she had been there to experience it. For she would have enjoyed the long days where night time ruled both of the day’s cycle, as it was, she could barely stand the day time. She would then gently place the book upon desk in front of her as she tapped a pale finger against the surface of the pages. Although she didn’t read much at a time, she believed that, the words read, needed to be reflected upon in order to gain the most wisdom from them.

Silently she lifted her right hand so then an index finger could press against the words just read and her forehead creased for a moment. Akajia had boundaries, was the boundaries the light of the sun? For the sun was light and was able to cast light into the shadows, so that must be her boundaries. She tapped her fingers against the book for a moment as she pressed her lips together tightly while deep in thought. However, she was brought from her thoughts when she heard voices at the front desk. A voice she recognized was Zandar and Kvanth’s voice as they spoke to some other male that she didn’t even recognize. Lifting her gaze, her gaze drifted to settle upon what seemed to be another Akalak that was speaking with the librarian and slowly she moved to stand up, closing the book that had been sitting in front of her. She lifted this book up into her arms, cradling it to her chest as she slowly made her way towards the front desk. From what she had gathered from the voices, someone wanted something copied and the head librarian, who was also an Akalak, was too busy to help. While she didn’t exactly have to help, she wanted to, to further better her copying skills, which meant practicing the skill.

”Hey, I couldn’t help but over hear that you needed something copied. I’m only a novice compared to the head librarian, but I can still copy whatever it is that you need copying, I just take more time doing so.” She offered a smile to the male as her gaze drifted over his form. He was the typical Akalak colour and quite frankly, she was beginning to find that most of the people that came through the library were mostly Akalaks. Well, what did she expect, Riverfall was a city full of Akalaks and they ruled the city. This one was dressed in simple clothes and she angled her head as she attempted to find some kind of book on him, but she couldn’t find it. What exactly was it that he wanted copied? He did have a tube of some kind hanging from his neck, so perhaps whatever that he wanted copied was inside the tube. "What is it that you need copying?"
