Orisi Appearance Race: Human, Inarta Caste: Chiet Gender: Female Age: 20 Birthday: 35, Spring, 494 Birthplace: Wind Reach Appearance: Orisi is a tiny girl by most standards reaching at just about 5'1" but ranks among average with the rest of her friends. Never particularly blossoming, so to speak, Orisi has a boyish frame and a slightly androgynous freckle covered face. If it were not for the little vanity she allows herself in lip and eye make up it would be difficult to tell her apart from one of the younger boys. Orisi's hair is a bright blood orange color which is worn at about shoulder length, the ends split and ragged showing how the young woman takes it upon herself to cut her hair. Rather than braid her hair or wrap it in silk like other women her age, Orisi likes to let her hair hang free and enjoy the way the wind blows through it. Typically adorned in the clothing common to her people Orisi likes to spice it up a little bit with flashes of brightly colored fabric, most often blues that match her eyes and splashes of yellow. Like most Inarta, Orisi has 5 piercings that run along the upper edges of each ear and are made of clear glass. Character Concept Orisi is one of those people who has always wanted more out of her life and is disappointed by the fact that few around her feel the same. To Orisi her people represent a very frustrating irony where they are at once some of the most free people in all of Mizahar but at the same time the most confined. The Inarta spend their lives locked inside a giant stone city on top of a volcano riding the backs of giant eagles only so far as to get food. They have all the freedom in the world but choose not to exercise it, at least that's how it feels to Orisi. To this young Inarta the winds of the world pull at her constantly, begging her to ride them into the sun and explore the world beyond the horizon. They tug on the soul of a girl whose soul feels bigger than her flesh. Orisi always wants to know more, do more, feel more, and see more. She always wants to be more. Character History Orisi was born and raised in the city of Wind Reach, the product of a union from her beautiful Chiet mother and wealthy Avora father. Like most Inarta children Orisi grew up in her mother's house and had little interaction with her father beyond meeting him on a handful of occasions. The majority of her childhood was uneventful and Orisi spent much of it clinging to the hem of her mother's vinati. It was during this time in her life that people first began to notice how unusual Orisi could be at times. When most of the children were cowering in the arms of their parents during the vicious storms that besieged Wind Reach, Orisi thrived in it. She loved the clap of the thunder and the flash of lightning, the way the wind whipped the waves of the bay causing massive waves, the feeling of the rain pelting her skin made the young laugh with pure pleasure. On more than one occasion the young girl slipped out of the caves and into a storm, only to be quickly pulled inside by one of the vigilant adults. Upon reaching the age of 8, Orisi was taken away from her mother and enrolled into the classes of the Yasi. Unfortunately for Orisi, the young girl had a bit of a wandering mind that cause her studies to suffer during this chapter in her life; the result being that nothing about her really stood out to any of the Avora. Being passed over for an apprenticeship served as something of a wake up call for the young woman and in the wake of being left behind Orisi doubled her efforts to avoid becoming one of the Deks. Finally settling on the study of falconry, Orisi dedicated herself to the subject in order to find placement in one of the bird keeping facilities in Wind Reach. After graduating from classes Orisi was assigned the caste of Chiet and works hard alongside the other residents of Wind Reach to ensure their survival. Rather than following the practice of moving into whatever space is available, Orisi has chosen to remain in a slightly smaller room than the rest of her friends and family. The smaller size doesn't really seem to bother the young woman all that much as she only goes there to sleep and sometimes not even that. Beyond the common furniture found inside most rooms, Orisi has gone a step further and collected a variety of bird feathers that have naturally fallen off their owners. She attaches them together using splinters of wood and string to create a multitude of mobiles that Orisi has hanging around her room.
