This lazy agricultural settlement rests on the swampy shores of the Middle Suvan at the delta of The Kenash River. The River's slow moving bayou waters have bred a different sort of people - rugged, cultured, and somewhat violent. Sprawling plantations of tobacco and cotton grow on the outskirts of the swamp in the rich Cyphrus soils, while the city itself curls around the bayou and spawns decadence and sins of all sorts. Life is slower in Kenash, but the lack of pace is made up for in the excesses of food and flesh in a city where drinking, debauchery, gambling, slavery, and overbearing plantation families dominate the landscape.

Fall 17th, 514 A.V. 14th Bell 9th Chime.

Kreig was alon at this moment, absolutely and totally alone as he sat in his room at the Traveller's complex. He breathed an air of relief as he moved about the furniture to make a nice wide space where he could sit in the center. He had taken off the majority of his clothing save for his pants and the undergarments beneath. He breathed deeply as he tried to calm himself, its been a while since he had done this since his tutor is still in Syliras....

He sat quietly, breathing in from his pose and releasing from his mouth as he tried to find his focus. If he did this while nervous or agitated he was liableto cause damagea and so it was absolutely essential that he not allow his emotions to get the better of him.

When he felt ready he began to try and imagine that River with the surrounding forest he used as the representation for his Djedd circulatory system. The forest looked to be an interesting thing, its trees particularly being of the ones found in Syliras whilst flowing through the river was a clear stream of water that had this green glowing tint going for it.

He willed that image to stay, that image brought him comfort and so to him it would be the easierst to will his Djedd to form into res.

Kreig had hated dabelling with Magic, no matter what anyone said it was a tool that should be treated with caution and respect. He was willing to conceded that he could be over cautious, much like a neurotic mother over her child, but he was dealing with something that was more troubling to handle than a sword without its sheath and needed twice the respect and care, how could he not be so cautious?

He stared at the river and after what felt like a long and intese moment, began to chant his word, his focus word to be exact "Please....please...please..." It was a simple word, to those who did not know him they would think him afraid of this tool that held so much power...they would'nt be wrong. To those who did know him then they would realize that the word summed up his thoughts of magic perfectly.

To Kreig, playing with this dangerous tool was to step into a realm where mortal man had no place. He was asking for a power that could and would subject him to dire consequences if he overstepped these boundaries. The word 'please' was a polite request to his very Mind, Soul and Body to allow him to call upon such power. It was a promise he would do his best to handle it with care....

He willed the glowing water to move towards the roots of one of the trees, for a novice it was a slow process. At his level the waters were like a turtle moving at its quickest to reach the waters at the shore.

Mentally it was quite taxing, but it wasn't simply limited to the mind for it had also affected the body as beads of sweat gathered at Kreig's forehead and began to drip down his face.

He had recalled when he first overgave, according to his tutor the best way to learn the full consequences of magic was to overgive. She had explained to him the consequences varied on the amount of Djedd overgiven, explaining that even the minor of consequences can have the most dire of effects..... he was lucky that his was simple exhaustion for several days, yet even that was a torture. His body had been constantly weak and he looked like the dead being forced to walk instead of being allowed its eternal slumber.

As he willed his Djedd from the mental river in his mind to gather at one of the trees that had represted the oalm of his hand; he could feel the stubborness of the glowing green water, as if it deemed his will too weak for it properly follow. He willed it harder to follow as it gathered at the roots of the tree, awaiting to be converted into Res....awaiting for the energy to be made manifest into a different state of being. This process was a bit more difficult, it was one thing to direct the Djedd.....it was another manner to convert it into Res in the right amount. He had to will it to seep through his spores, and so he imagined a bit of the Djedd being absorbed by root of the tree, going up its system and gathering at end of one of its branches. In his hand he could all that, he could feel the Djedd going through his pores and emerging as a small, clear liquid with a green glow. It was like a droplet of water from the rain.

His body breathed heavily as the simple act of converting Djedd into Res had taxed his body like he had just been through an intenses spar. Yet all this effort had only produced one small drop, it was all he could handle after all.... any further and he would have overgave, he would have overgave and perhaps this time he wouldn't have been so lucky.

He stared at the droplet in his palm, he found himself chuckling as he compared to taking a giant shyke, except taking a giant shyke would have been much easier ' Plus relaxing if I had any reading material He chuckled again.

Then he turned serious as he again looked at the drop, this glowing little liquid was infused with his will.... over it he had the power to move it and the power to transform it into air. Compared to transforming it into the element he had dominion of, it was easier to move the drop around.

As long as it was embedded with his will and in his area of control, he could move it around like a puppet with strings. He just had to will it so..... And as he looked at that droplet of Res and willed it to move...

"Please"

“ Please, please, please, please “ Came the chant to focus his will and thoughts as he begged the droplet of res to move, it was something that took less effort than expected yet still It felt difficult although not overtly so. The drop moved in a circular fashion across his skin, its movement like the drops of water he envision yet in this state it still was not the element he could transform to…. That could wait for a bit, already he was quite tired although not quite enough that he was in true danger. Creating Res, limiting how much was made and Transforming it into the element were the most tiring aspects….. He supposed it was like body building in a sense except that he couldn’t use it to create fire and wind.

He breathed deeply once more, his body feeling like he’d just been through an intense physical workout yet he knew more was needed. He willed the bead to move from his palm and to his wrist, then back from the wrist to the tip of his pointer finger as he moved his hand about to get a better look at it…. Moving it felt considerable easier than he first thought as flipped his hand and allowed the droplet to fall, yet stopped it midfall and willed to float in front of his face. It was amazing what could be done with it as long as it was within his own range of control, yet it was far from perfect….even as he controlled it with his will it was slow moving and shaky as it floated up to his face.. another thing that only training could work on ‘Feels like the answer to most things…..more training

He willed the small droplet to split into two, two smaller beads of res that were under his control. Yet it felt harder to control, perhaps not because of the will it took, it was about the same actually since they were half the droplet, but rather that there were two of them now that required his focus. The two little beads of Res were interesting to him, moving them around each other like circle, letting spiral around his pointer finger. Practicing his control over them yet admiring them all at the same time… it was surprising how such little things came from his own being, how creating the original drop took so much effort yet felt so appealing at the same time…. That was the perhaps the most dangerous about this magic he was learning, it was so gods damn appealing.

“No wonder mages go crazy….”
