PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Skin of dark ochre, Ijuia is a godly vision under the shade of the keerdash tree. Next to dark bark his natural Chaktawe tan glows, and even in shade it glistens from the desert minerals that have accumulated on his skin. Long eyelashes flatter his wide-apart eyes; especially when the obvious glaze of his nictitating membranes, which are cloudier than most, wipe across his eyes, the eyelashes are important tools in redirecting the attention of the onlooker. He towers above the rest of the Tatsuwaat at five feet and 11 inches, being exceptionally tall for someone at his age. In the morning, he runs his hand with red dye from the keerdash tree through his hair, creating the unique shade of brown. He paints a band of red across the bridge of his nose to protect his eyes from the glare of the sun. He cuts his hair short and has a Hishuuk bone dangling from the left occipital portion of his head through a knot in his hair.

CHARACTER CONCEPT

Ijuia prefers to keep to himself. But in tribe gatherings, he is very sociable and tries to talk to everyone he knows. His smile is what lures in everyone, being seductive while remaining kind. He is trustworthy and caring, although his pride in himself outweighs most everything and becomes his primary instinct. His philosophy lies in making himself look good to others. This does not mean that he is superficial and cares only about his appearance; he just likes to adapt to the various tastes of people and fit himself into whatever situation he finds himself. He is calm and good-natured, and is rarely wrathful. However, he is very passionate (or touchy) about the pronunciation of his name, especially when his friends teasingly call him "Ijiaki" which is Tawna for "weaver". In fact, he picked his name after he saw how much his tribesmen valued the Ijuione, or the tracker. Henceforth, he has been training in the art of tracking and hunting.

CHARACTER HISTORY

Ijuia's parents are from two different tribes. His father, Pashije, came from Tatsuwaat while his mother, Chau, came from the Suli tribe. He has a younger sister named Jisha, who dreams of becoming an Abayla, after becoming interested in the Chaktawe oral tradition through spending a lot of time with her grandmother. His father's family, distinguished by Hishuuk bones, has experienced a slump in their reputation, due to the fact that they have never produced a male in ages and their hunting prowess has been challenged in turn. Today, Ijuia is seen as the champion of his family, who will bring back the honor and the goat meat.
