Day 57, Summer, 511 AV
The four month old pup lifted her head, her blue eyes that were in the process of changing to a golden colour looked like a bluey-gold. She had stopped by the lake and far off into the distance, or the center of the large body of water, seemed to be a human dwelling. The young hungry wolf, as she often was, silently watched the far off human city, her pink tongue lashing out to lick her muzzle. She had seen some other dwelling a little further away to her left, along the lake's shoreline and she had decided to steer clear of it, but curiousity was getting the better of her. Even though she stayed far away from them, she might be able to learn of her location… Right? She turned her gaze to view her left, her line of sight following the lake’s edge. While it was true that the pup did not fully know where she was, she did know that it wasn’t Nyka. She had travelled, putting one paw in front of the other, only barely just surviving the harsh environment. In fact, she would rather be sleeping, for she was tired and hungry, but she had this overwhelming urge to move forwards, to find out where exactly she was.
Redd began to pad forth, her paws holding a small little bounce to their step, because although it all looked grim so far, she was surviving… For the most part. The young wolf had taken to eating berries whenever she could find them and stalking humans, seeing as they were a good source for information whenever she came across them. In the wilds, she barely came across humans, or those that looked to be human and so it was pleasant… Enough. She wasn’t spending half her time running away or trying to dodge a well-placed throw of a rock. However, sometimes her movements were too slow because she didn’t always get enough food, so a rock or two would clip a hind leg and send her flailing. Although lucky for her when that happened, they just chuckled and walked off, to simply continue their journey. That didn’t stop the young pup from wanting to know things about the human world, even if it didn’t exactly want her in it. The human dwellings along the lake shore began to rise up in front of her and she slowed her movements until she came to a complete stop a few yards away.
Her bluey-gold eyes watched the buildings for a moment before she decided to seat herself back upon her hind quarters. She had to admit, she didn’t know much about it all so it made her curious, curious enough to want to follow the travellers leaving the city. Even if it did mean that a rock or two would be thrown, maybe she could even steal a hunk of meat from them if they had any. Her tongue darted out at this thought, sliding it along her muzzle as she went. Although it did take her a bit to chew through the meat, at least it was much more filling then berries and dead meat. She had even tried eating grass like some of the other animals did, it didn’t taste very nice, in fact she would rather not eat it. Occasionally the young pup caught a rabbit, but even then she wasn’t the best of little hunters for she mostly scared them all away. So Redd mostly did a lot of scavenging, but even that didn’t always supply her with a lot of food to eat. Lucky for her now, she could settle near a large lake which would supply her with plenty of water.
