Appearance

Eir'wen, like most others of her race, has a diminutive and dainty looking physique. Standing shorter than most of her kin at a mere 5'2, her willowy figure averages around 107 pounds. She has an almost ethereal looking skin tone, not quite as pale as other Konti but lighter than most others, that is further enhanced by pearly luminescent scales. These scales start along her hair line and outline her face, which is round with softer features. They become more prominent as they trail down her body, from her delicate shoulders and graceful arms still carrying only an outline to covering most of her thin waist and legs. A set of gills graces her elongated neck. While powder blue eyes look out onto the world with a marked inquisitive, searching for the silver lining in all things that she is certain exists.

Her hair is a platinum, almost white blonde with an almost golden undertone. The longer layers cascade down to the small of her back while the shorter ones reach her shoulders. Some times the shorter strands are braided back in a waterfall braid to keep them from falling in her face. Her tresses sometimes obscures the winged serpent, etched into her jugular notch at the hollow center just above a prominent collarbone.

While not immediately noticeable, Eir'wen is slowly building a bit of lean muscle in her upper arms and toning her core while she practices her basic combat skills. The young woman has managed to avoid more extreme acts of violence thanks to her general distaste of it and good intentions, she has been told by many that she should at least be able to defend herself if the need arises because things are only going to get harder from here.

Personality

The girl can best be described as someone who is awkward around others. She lacks a general confidence in social situations and has a hard time reading people which often leads her to second guess herself. One too many times, she has been burned or belittled by too many people for her personal beliefs and convictions. It is hard to get her to open up or lower her guard for even casual conversations; deeper conversations with herself as the nature of topic are often avoided.

Kindhearted almost to a fault, Eir'wen will go out of her way to help those in need if she can. This goes beyond her duty as a healer and into other aspects as well to anyone who is in some sort of bind that they don't think they can handle on their own. She might not be much help, but she is willing to offer it. This giving nature does have its limits though. She will not let herself get taken advantage of too much.

Eir'wen fully believes that all of the creatures of Mizahar, have a purity in them that is worth finding and protecting. Saving. Their true nature has only been clouded over by nature, evolution, and need to survive in such a harsh world. Even the Gods and Goddesses fought out of necessity or in reactions to emotional wounds. This overly optimistic outlook has caused many to dismiss her as an idealist but this is something that Eir'wen will not deny. A ripple has to be started for it to even be able to grow.

However, it is when she is healing does her true nature shine. Any hints of self-doubt fade away. If she is not entirely sure of the best course of action, she gives it her all and does her best. In situations where she is clearly over her head, she manages to remain calm and level headed. After all, showing her own panic and frustration would only lead to a more negative atmosphere.

Two of the most important things in Eir'wen's life are her family and her beliefs. She has also found that the two are almost intrinsically linked together. If her knowledge of religion has taught her anything, it is that family and love are at the core of everything. It was out of an act of love that Laviku empowered his mate, Avalis, the mother of the first Konti women. Rak'keli, the twin sister of Avalis, maintains just an important of a role. They came together to protect one another, working together to better the next generation and pass on knowledge in the hopes that peace will one day settle across Mizahar. That's what family is for.

Eir'wen takes her gnosis seriously and her gift seriously. She understands that even though there are consequences, the good she can do far outweighs the drawbacks. She has never considered it a curse or burden. The same with other Konti's gifts, no matter what negative effects they might have on their psyche. They are just that. Gifts given to them so that they can help others.

Character Concept

Eir'wen knows that there are three keys to practicing medicine: the body, the mind, and the spirit. The brain is a muscle that needs to be exercised, pushed to its limits, given time to rest. While the largest nature of medicine deals with healing physical injuries, one's mind can just as easily be damaged and in need of repair due to a number of emotional traumas. She has seen this cause a number of people to manifest physical ailments or lead someone into situations where they can be incurred. A person's spirit is almost just as fragile as many species are driven by emotion. Bouts of rage will usually cause someone else harm. Extreme depression can lead to self-injury. This is why she is slowly learning to heal the whole, rather than the parts.

The only other thing that Eir'wen strives for more than helping others is knowledge. She seems to be a little more socially awkward than many other Konti, preferring to keep herself shut in at home while she reads or writes, or tinkers with new forms of medicine and herbs.

Character History

Eir'wen's mother left Mura several times throughout her long life, looking for a mate in various locations across Mizahar. Eir'wen is the youngest of five siblings. Two sisters and two Akalak brothers. She is also the only one not born of her other sibling's father, but rather a High Priest from Nyka who served Xannos. While still pretty much a religious zealot, he was one of the lesser evils in the city that her mother had gone to after being requested to help plan out a strategy for defenses.

Eir'wen spent only eight years in Nyka, mainly shut away in her mother's apartment. There were many reasons for this, primarily being that the girl did not yet have full control over her gift. Simply bumping into someone on the streets could have horrible consequences in a place so intertwined with violence, repressed memories, and in some cases even brainwashing for obedience. Though her mother was marked by Avalis, Eir'wen was marked instead by Rak'keli like her grandmother had been. So from an early age, the girl was taught to read Kontinese. Her mother had also earned two gnosis from the healing goddess and knew a bit about medicine herself, so when she had the time, she showed her what she could.

Immediately after her job was done, the pair of Konti females returned to Mura where Eir'wen still lives to this day. Her mother, now also a grandmother thanks to her eldest child, has decided to spend the rest of her years in peace and among family. Still slightly traumatized by all the fighting she saw in her early years lead her to take a mostly unheard of view of healing. Instead of continuing to have poor control over her gift, the Vision Water she was now constantly taking in seemed to help her more than hurt her. While now it is primarily activated by her own will unless already in an emotional state, the visions she receives are much more vivid and take a higher toll. At least now it is her choice.

Konti Gift

The Forgotten
Eir'wen realizes that there is more to healing than the physical body; a person's mind and spirit can also be injured. Through a touch, Eir'wen can bring up a forgotten, repressed, or even erased memory from the person's past. The memories can vary from person to person, but it is usually one of great emotional impact or importance. For the other person, they will simply remember what they had lost. Any emotional reaction after the fact is entirely on them.

However, Eir'wen also sees the memory in her own mind, experiencing it as if it had to happened to her. She is also deeply affected by how the person felt at the time and the same emotions transfer to her but seem to linger on for at least an hour depending on how strongly they were feeling. Happy memories make her blissful. Moments of extreme fear have her being paranoid for long periods of time. Those involving feelings of loss will cause severe depression. Instances involving deep hatred might have her resentful towards those around her.

While this can be used multiple times on the same person or several times in quick succession on a number of people, the more it is used in a short amount of time, the longer the emotional effects last and layer on one another. This means her own emotional stability will easily be lost and cause great confusion and/or suffering.

[tab=Heirloom,#003377]Book, Exquisite (50 GM)
On her twentieth birthday, Eir'wen received her grandmother's leather bound personal journal as a keepsake as part of a tradition. It is mainly a journal detailing personal thoughts and notes on cities from some traveling, though some medical information lies within its pages. There are a few pieces of Pre-Valterrian articles scattered through it's tattered pages which are mainly copied maps, artwork, and accounts about the Valterrian itself as well as the creation and rise of the Konti.[/tab]
