The Owl's Den

Image

The name of the old book and craft shop located at the outer part of the Noble District, barely marking the gradual change of it to the Merchants Ring. The building is 2 stories high and owned by a singular family for as long as it can be recalled in anyone’s memory - The Golben family.

Visually, it doesn’t stand out from a lot of other buildings around it. The whole building is colored in a medium cadmium yellow, with white doors and window frames. All of the windows are decorated by simple, cultivated flowers ranging in color from light blue to a vivid purple. Above the doors stands a nametag, with an owl totem to compliment it.

Currently the shop is owned by the eldest and only son of the family, Tegol Golben. A young man in his middle twenties who just like all of the previous owners holds a pet owl he received as a complimentary gift when becoming the next owner of the shop. The owl is well trained and flies freely though the building and around it, but prefers to stay alongside its master.

The buildings first floor is divided into two main parts. The biggest portion is hidden behind a door, its Tegol’s own privet area, while the other part is a checkout.

The second floor is devoted to supply selling, ranging from different sized journals, music books, paper, empty books and scrolls. All of the covers are different, some wrapped in fabric and some in animal skin, different in design and price. One can also find different coloured inks, ink sticks, paints and pigments. Small and large sets of charcoal and palates. Quills have their own section, where one can find them in different sizes and colour.

As a general rule, this shop only attracts the interest of the enlightened, educated or affluent. Given its location, the owned has, on occasion, been known to snub the interest of lesser individuals who attempt to gain service in the shop. Lovers of books, those who work here are keen only that those who desire information would be given these books, as said items are so rare. However, the shop does offer a copying service, and any customers are welcome to bring in their own private books for them to be copied... for the right price.
