:)Sounds cool to me Tao seemed surprised at Una's joke, but it still wasn't enough to reveal that he did not get the joke. It was only natural for males to react in a few predictable patterns, Tao's was one of those. Still, she could not neglect the fact that his attitude was amusing her a lot; He was a lot like a lost puppy... without the puppy part... or something along those lines. Tao did not like the tea much, as his face grimaced a bit every time he had to drink it, but still, it was as if he was forcing himself to do so out of reasons unknown to Una. Still it was probably too much work to brain over such trivial matters, „Yes, male chefs were quite a rare sight for the most of my time in life. So we could say you are... rare.. special... or something“ she giggled a bit as she took a breath to continue talking, and hopefully settle the laughter: „It's not that i dislike cooking... cooking just seems to dislike me, really... „ her voice trailed off for a moment before she talked yet again: „I may be a total idiot when it comes to cooking, but i'm a pro when it comes to eating, believe me that much“ she could not help it but smile again as she ended her sentence. „So, a stargazing male chef who doesn't really talk much; You really do stand out in more than one way. You know, i still don't quite get are you usually this quiet or am i making you uncomofortable?“ it was hanging around her head for a bit now, the question that is.

You really stand out in more than one way. That single, offhanded statement shook him more than the rest of the conversation and Brady being thrown out combined. “...Stand out?” He repeated under his breath as Una asked a question that he honestly wasn't listening to. He had been doing everything that he could that evening to appear normal and blend in, and it did nothing? Abruptly, he put the tea cup he had been halfheartedly nursing back down on the table with a reasounding thunk. It was hard to face the realisation that the entire evening had been little more than awkward. That was not unusual for him, given that he went out with people as much as he knitted cotton socks for dogs. But this one had been different. He thought he had been doing well. The failure tasted as bitter as the tea. Tao shook his head a little and got to his feet, grabbing his bag. Why did he keep getting himself into situations where he didn't fit? “I'm sorry, Una.” He said, forcing himself to sound brisk and in a rush rather than just upset. “I just remembered that I have something to do before it gets too late. I should really have taken care of it earlier, but I... I forgot.” Slinging his bag onto his shoulder, he reached into his to grab a couple of kina, placing them next to the half drunken tea. “That's enough to cover my drink, right?” Without waiting for an answer, he pressed on. “Well, it was nice talking to you. I hope you have a good night!” I'm not running away. He told himself, turning around and making his way to the exit before he could see Una's reaction. I'm just retreating. Again. OOCOkay, my sincere apologies (again), because I didn't realise that you had replied! =( At any rate, the final post is all yours, and then we're done, if you're cool with that. Had fun threading with you!

:)You worry too much Been fun for me as well . Also i have no idea how much is the tea actually so would you be so kind to tell me how much should i deduct from my ledger? Una did not really understand what was happening to Tao as he started jumping around in his chair for a bit, and muttering something she could not quite make out. And before she knew it, he was getting up and seemed as if he was casting away. Was he intimidated? Simply uncomfortable? Maybe she smelled really bad? After sniffing herself, Una settled for him simply running from something, maybe he was scared after all... She did not reply at his sudden rush of words, as they came gushing out of him, she simply nodded at him slightly, not really paying much attention to what he was saying. It was obvious he was lying after all; He might have had his reasons, but still he was lying, the sounds and the inconsitent flow of breath were obvious signs that did not fail to betray him. He probably had his reasons, she did not bother herself with understanding, they would meet again, if such were their paths, and if not, well people leave all the time, why should this one be any different? She slowly got up, placing the money for the tea on the table and at a slowed pace dragged herself towards the door. Once out she could still not help herself but think it was somehow her fault, still even if it was, she strangely did not feel any guilt. And like that another chapter of that night was done, awkward, somewhat silent and passed into memory. Thread End
