80th of Fall 475 A.V.

Lianel was always tired when mother woke them up in the morning, first with her normal arm, and then if the children did not wake, more roughly with her deep purple one. Both of their parents would tell stories of non-Isur children, children who slept far longer than they did, but did not work on their bodies in the same way. When first hearing these stories Lianel thought it might be nice, not to wear the weights she was already groggily attaching to her wrists and ankles. Not to have to run or lift, or climb for a great portion of the day.

Then of course she would think of other adult Isur, and then of course Izurdin. How would she grow to be strong enough to create great pieces, to shape objects as others had, how would she keep up with other Isur if she did not train as they did? And that's when she began to pity non-Isur children, for certainly, there was a lack of devotion and dedication in their childhoods. And usually, that got her awake and ready for the day.

When Irriel had woken she gave her twin a smile and began to limber up. The good thing was, the two of them had free reign of the Terras citadel, they had to train for most of the day, but it was up to them to decide how to do it, which Lianel was glad of, since not all Isur parents did it that way. But with Father gone most of the time, and Mother always absorbed in her work, it was an easy, hands free approach.

The young Isur began with stretches, reaching down to try to touch her toes, something she was rather inept at, but holding her body as far as it could go for several ticks before folding one leg over another and clutching it to her chest, then doing the same for the other. She eventually stood up, balancing on one leg, arms outstretched, something much harder to accomplish properly with the weights upon her body. She flailed and fell, only able to keep herself upright and poised for about a tick at a time. After struggling with that for a couple chimes she stretched out her arms, bending down to try to touch her toes, again an impossible task, and began speaking to her twin.

"So what do you want to do today, Irri? Start with a run? Maybe spar? Maybe...climb one of the walls?" The more she thought about the exercise and training the less tired she became and the more excitement trickled in.

Making an Early Start (Irriel)

It was completely clear to any who had known Irriel for any length of time. She hated mornings. Well, perhaps not mornings in and of themselves but the act of waking up in the morning she really despised. During those first few chimes her body protested as she struggled to remove herself from the warm, soft embrace of sleep that coated her dreams with images of forge fires and great masterpieces her dreamself had completed. The young Isur loved her dreams, and sleep. She felt as though every time her eyes closed and she began to dream she was transported to another world. One that was just too precious to be interrupted by morning work outs.

With a groan Irriel rolled over in bed, kicking the blanket off her legs and opening one bleary eye that blinked slowly at her twin who was already up to her stretches. As usual Lianel seemed awake and eager to go despite the hour, and when she smiled Irriel cast her twin a dark looked and rolled over on her other side. Why did they have to go so early? She had been told the same stories as Lianel, but somehow they did not quite affect this sister in the same way it did the other. Couldn't a full day be gotten if they were given just a bell longer to sleep in? Would the world fall to pieces if they did not begin each day with a job or a work out?

In the end it was only Lianel's voice that roused the Isur from her soft bed, a big yawn escaping her lips as she scratched her head and blinked blearily around and sighed, "I don't care..."

Her voice was grumpy and deepened with sleep, yet still Irriel rose and began to change, putting on identical working clothes as Lianel and she, too, began to stretch though not quite as vigorously as her sister did. Every movement was slow and methodical, punctuated by grunts and yawns as Irriel tried to shake the sleep from her mind to focus on the mornings training. Again she envied Lianel's morning person attitude. They were twins, so Irriel should have gotten some of that morning affinity shouldn't she?

It took several more chimes for Irriel to awaken enough to finally piece together her thoughts to form an opinion for their morning, and while she was busy doing some of her floor stretches she looked back at Lianel thoughtfully, "You always win when we race, so that doesn't sound too fun..." One foot was tucked close to her inner thigh, the other leg stretched out fully with both hands gripping her toes, pulling back on them as she limbered up her calves, "Spar or climb then. You choose."

Lianel paused in her stretches to contemplate what her sister had said. She was faster in a run, but she would argue only just. A spar or a climb. "We have to do them all today, you know." She gave a sickly sweet smile up at Irriel, knowing the face she was going to get in return for being such a stickler. That being said, even if Irri didn't like runs, they made her better, this much Lianel knew.

"Um, okay let's stretch, then spar, then climb, then see what's next. Okay?" She took the weights off her wrists and ankles and carried them with her out into the small 'yard' out in front of their home, setting them down. She knew she should probably spar with them on, but the two of them would wear them most of the day, it didn't seem prudent to get tired out first thing. She tried reaching her fingertips to her toes again, with no success, then sighed and glanced up, waiting for her twin to go through her own regime, an idea springing to her mind.

"Whoever wins has to make breakfast!" She beamed at this idea, the idea of food making her stomach rumble somewhat. She would be starving by the end of their spar no doubt, and making or being made breakfast would be appealing.

Lianel was practically bouncing when Irriel had finally prepared herself for their practice bout. She didn't know what it was about the first of the day, perhaps the endless possibilities and things that could happen that made her so excited, she wanted to do as much as she could before the day was done, and something about getting Irriel to do them with her always made her happier.

As with most things Lianel would jump in first to their fight, not conscious of much form or technique, stance nonexistent as she aimed a punch with her slowly purpling arm towards Irriel's gut.
