Gender: Female
Age: 10
Birthday: 14th of Winter, 505 AV

Wrenera's body, besides being covered with a fine screen of dark blue fur, has well defined muscle tone. She is five feet tall, and weighs close to 100 lbs. As is the case for all Zith, obsidian bat-like wings sprout from her shoulder blades. Wrenera's hair is long disheveled chaos, the same hue as her fur. Her eyes gleam a savage scarlet.

Character Concept

Wrenera is uncivilized and instinctive by nature. Mistrusting of humans and other intelligent races. Much of her daily routines revolve around her own survival. There is little for her beyond that. But this is not completely true. There is more to the Zith woman than meets the eye. Beneath the layers of conditioned brutality. It shows itself in the moon lit night, when she studies the creatures of nature, watching intently the harmonic dance they all sway to. It flickers in the abandoned caverns she now calls her home, a tool lifted from wreckage, and puzzled over before being hugged to her breast. Most never get to see that side of her though. They see only what their eyes wish to see. A cruel animal that only exists to slaughter and terrify.

Wrenera is not above killing humans. She considers all creatures in her domain, a food source. For it to be otherwise would likely mean starvation, for her. She prefers to avoid humans if at all possible. She understands if one goes missing, many will come looking. Her social skills are poor at best. When she does interact with other intelligent creatures, it's usually straight forward needs that motivate the parley. She's not one to beat around the bush. While she is suspicious of humans, and their massive cities, she is also curious about the things they do there. There are times she stalks very close to those high walls, to catch a glimpse beyond the gates. Do not mistaken her curiosity for foolhardiness. She takes every precaution when near such settlements.

History

Wrenera was born in winter, along with her twin sister. She belonged to a colony of Zith that controlled a region in the Wildlands a few days march southwest of Nyka. The memory of those days is fleeting at best now. Easiest to visualize are the times she spent in the company of her twin sister. They were inseparable, and worked in perfect unison for the hunt. Years later, when Wrenera was blooming into womanhood, a violent storm the like of which she has never known before or since, struck her home. The caves they lived in were buried under rubble. Wren had tried to save her mother. She had grasped the reaching hand, but could not pull her free of the fallen debris. Many of her colony lay dead in the wreckage whilst she and her sister huddled in a corner, hoping only to survive the night. The storm came, and passed. If any of her colony remained, they could not find them. Wanting only to leave the memory of the place behind, Wren, and her sister stared at their homeland one last time before turning away, traveling south, and west.

Along their journey, Wren, and her sister discovered many strange places. Keeping to the shadows, they traveled by night, resting only in the day. On one occasion, they encountered a human that attacked them on sight. The human wore bits of metal, and fought with a slim, slightly curved tool. The human may have well slew either of them in single combat. But together, the sisters proved too cunning for him. Wrenera was offered the tool (scimitar), which she marveled at for quite some time, and offered her sister the metal pieces the human had worn in return. Eventually they came to a range of peaks, bordered by forests to the west, and through which a river ran (Avitar River). Upon discovering a network of caverns (Aylasa Caves), they decided the place would make a prosperous home.

They hunted well in their new home. The land abound with wild game. Wrena missed having others of her kind around for protection, though. No more so, than when humans were spied not far from their shelter. They tracked one such party in the night, to find out where they came from. The truth of the matter soon became apparent. Their new home was not far from a large city of humans. Despite that fact, they had few encounters with the humans. Hiding when they needed to. Fighting savagely when they had no other alternative.

Just when Wren was beginning to feel settled again, she awoke, startled. A horrible nightmare had visited her dreams. One in which her sister was captured by the humans. The nightmare soon became a reality, as she could not find her sister anywhere. Wren explored the caves, traveled all about the area, and even wandered to the human city, searching for tracks of her sister - all to no avail. It was odd to her though. Her sister's possessions were gone as well. Did she leave on her own accord? Why would she abandon her closest family when they were all they had in this new strange country? It did not make sense to her. And though she went on searching for her sister for many days after her disappearance, she had come to realize, her sister would never be found.

Wrenera still resides in the area. She lives a solitary life for the most part. Speaking only to the animals, as if they could comprehend her tongue. Though she is lonely, Wren has found peace in routine. She hunted, explored, and watched the humans. She even began to deal with some of the humans that traveled to and fro. Bartering with them for supplies in exchange for hides, cured meat, and other items she found that had value. A simple life, true, but it's all she has.
