Race: Human Gender: Male Age: 31 Birthday: 5th of Summer, AV 483 Birthplace: Sunberth
Appearance: Shaun stood around five foot eleven, perhaps an inch either way, and he weighed in at one hundred and seventy pounds. He came with the usual traits of living in Sunberth for your entire live; he had the odd scar here and there, the usual smudge of dirt found somewhere on his person and his clothes were normally stained with blood that had never been bothered to be washed out.
His face was stern but not harsh, easy to crack into a smile or curl up into a glare. His head was completely bald, it had been shaved to the bone as soon as he started to lose his hair at a embarrassingly young age for a man. Too make up for it he had grown a beard; rough and bristly it did the job of completely covering his jaw in the thick brown hair.
This combination of brand and tattoo identifies him as a member of the Sun's Birth, with only one point filled in with black in ranking him as a Guardian of the Dragoons.
Character Concept
Ambitious was one word that helped nail him down. Shaun loved the city of Sunberth, the blood, the danger and the chaos it offered but this did not stop him from wanting to bleed the city dry of any wealth it still had. He longed to live a life of abundant wealth with all the luxury that came with it and he was willing to go to any lengths to achieve this dream.
A bloodthirsty thrill-seeker was another way to describe him. He loved the thrill of bloodshed, the challenges of battles and the spoils of victory. When a fight starts he is always nearly the perpetrator, he has graced the Blood Pits several times over the years for another hit of violence in his veins. Most people who know him doubts he'll make it to forty and most are surprised he has made this long.
At the core, perhaps a Sunberther is the best way to summarise him. He hates magic with a passion, he finds himself disliking most outsiders and while he is ambitious, he knows that Sunberth can never be controlled, he simply wants to bleed its wealth instead of its people. Within the Sun's Birth he has found himself laughing anyone who believes they can "liberate" Sunberth, the liberators simply become the oppressor quickly enough, a lifetime in Sunberth has left Shaun highly cynical and distrustful of anyone with good intentions.
Character History
Shaun origins were as humble as they come in Sunberth. He was born on the 5th of Summer in the year AV 487 to Tom and Emily Blackwood who lived in the city of Sunberth. Both were mercenaries but after several children they had resigned themselves to simple heavy labour, preferring the security of a steady income and distinctly low risk of being stabbed in the back which was handy when feeding a family. They were both fairly ordinary people for Sunberth, they made sure all their children had the common sense to survive Sunberth's streets, they passed all their Sunberthian prejudices onto them as well and they tried their hardest to set them up for a decent future by securing apprenticeships, training and whatever else was needed for their children's desired future.
Shaun was perhaps the most difficult child, always picking fights and finding trouble wherever he could, so it was perhaps no surprise that he followed his parents down the route of a mercenary. He plied the trade of a mercenary for several years, enjoying all the perks of being a simply competent mercenary in a city with no shortage of swords for sale before hitting the nail on the head. If he wanted to be rich he needed to be well trained, well equipped and with loyal soldiers at his command. The solution was simple; The Sun's Birth.

1. What is your Name? Shaun Blackwood. 2. Do you go by a nickname or pet name? Nope, you gonna try and give me one? 3. How old are you? I've seen twenty eight winters so far, gonna try and test fate to see how many more I'll see. 4. What is your height? 'Bout five eleven, give or take. 5. What is your weight? Oh, I dunno. 'Bout one seventy perhaps, not a lot of scales around to weigh myself in.
Aesthetics :
1. Describe yourself as you see yourself. Someone you don't wanna fuckin' mess with, even in Sunberth. 2. Describe yourself as others typically see you. Someone you wouldn't bring home to your parents but you still bloody would. 3. What is your favourite body feature? My dick, I'd show you why but children might be readin' this. 4. How physically fit are you? Tough job, not many fatty steaks in Sunberth and I get around. So yeah, pretty fit but I ain't a rich merchant's boy who can afford to workout so don't expect a chiselled body. 5. How do you typically dress and what is your style? Trousers and shirts; muddy and bloody like every other merc in this city. Armour when I can find it, nothing heavy 'cos I've only seen full plate once in my life with about five thieves trailin' him so don't expect to see me wearin' it any time soon.

1. Who are your parents and what are they like? Hard workin' pair, they hung up their swords a little too soon if you ask me but they're happy enough with back breaking labour. I've got bigger dreams. 2. Do you have any brothers or sisters? Too many if you ask me. 3. What is your extended family like? Oh, they're around. Don't know 'em that well though, blood runs faster than water in this city. 4. Do you consider close friends as important or more/less important than family? Well, I stand by my family. Even the shitty ones. But I'd do the same to friends, depends really. 5. Do you treat animals like family? Nah, animals are dinner. Nuthin' more.

1. Where were you born? Sunberth. 2. Where do you live now? Sunberth, I ain't plannin' on leavin' anytime soon. 3. If you could live anywhere in Mizahar where would that be? Oh, where do all the rich people live anyway? 4. Do you have a favourite place to vacation or spend leisure time? Uh, what's a vacation? Any free time I 'ave I spend down the tavern. 5. Where do you fear to be? Oh, tied to a tree, covered in honey with a bees nest handing above me... Bit specific?

I learnt a bit of Fratava from some sailors down the docks, its handy since you meet all sorts that don't speak Common but most know a bit of Fratava. Well, I sound like a Sunberther. But y'know how it is, I don't have an accent really its people from other places that do. 4. Do you have any odd mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? I like crackin' my knuckles whenever I can, I love the sound of it way too much for my own good. 5. Do you have (or want to get) any tattoos or piercing? Why do you have them (or will get them)? I've got a lovely brand, the women love it.

1. What is your occupation? I'm a Dragoon so basically I'm a hired thug with a fancy title. 2. Do you like/dislike your work? Why? I ain't fond of orders but that's bred into this city. The money's good and I plenty of perks not to mention I get to kill people quite often so all in all, it's a damn good gig. 3. If you could be anything you wanted to, what would you be? Rich and powerful with an expensive whore for both arms. 4. What occupation do you admire the most? Why? Mine of course, who the fuck else? 5. What occupation do you least like? Why? Oh thieves, they're a bunch of coward who can't handle a fight to claim what they want so they just hide in the fuckin' shadows.

1. What sort of education do you have? Uh, my parents taught me most of what I know. Do ya think there's fuckin', whaddya call it... that thing they have at Zeltiva... A university! Yeah, we don't have one of those. I learnt to read and write, more than some people learn and they taught me to swing a sword well enough so I didn't die straight away when I hit the streets for work. 2. Do you like/dislike learning? Dull, I prefer testing myself on the streets than against someone who isn't gonna even try to kill me. 3. Where or how did you learn most of your skills/abilities? My parents and my time on the streets. 4. How do you learn best? Practical experience is always the most valuable, you can't learn my trade from a book. 5. What are your educational goals for the future? Train, train and more training.

I trust about as much as I should, this is Sunberth after all. 3. Do you consider yourself straight, gay, bi, or something else? Straight, why? You hittin' on me? 4. Have you ever been kissed? If so, describe the first time. You want me to describe it? Man, go down the tavern and buy a whore a drink. 5. Have you ever had sex? If so, describe the first time. I ain't a virgin but I'm thinkin' you might be with all these questions.

1. Have you ever been drunk? If so, describe your first time. Of course I've been drunk, but I did it properly so I don't remember the first time. 2. Do you like to drink on a regular basis? Of course I do, what man doesn't? 3. What sort of alcohol do you prefer? Ale, beer, cider, bitter, whisky y'know things like that. 4. Have you ever tried drugs (mood altering substances)? If so, which kinds and what did you think of them? Nah, doesn't sit well in my veins. 5. What do you think of drugs and alcohol? Be specific. Make your question more specific, I couldn't give a rat's arse about drugs and alcohol. If people want to take them that is fine by me, it is none of my bloody business.

What kinds of things embarrass you? Why? I dunno, the usual things I guess?

1. In general, how do you treat others? Well enough I suppose, just 'cos you added "in general" doesn't mean that it isn't a stupidly vague question. 2. Who is the most important person in your life, and why? Myself, fairly obvious why. 3. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If not, describe an ideal lover. I don't. 4. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? My parents, they're the ones that raised me. 5. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why? I tend to trust just myself for that job when I can, only I know what I can do.
Group Situations :
1. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? I love an argument, it's the first thing before a fist fight. 2. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? Sometimes. 3. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not? It depends on the people. You really need to make these questions more specific. 4. Do you care what others think of you? Not really. 5. What do you think of others, in general? Okay, this question is ridiculously vague. How the fuck can anyone answer that?
