Open Battle Gingers (Sparring Thread)

(Noticed there hasn't been an Open thread for nearly a year. Let me fix that)

Evan grabs his gear from his room in the Commons, and quickly moves towards the kitchens. Just in time for Ciet breakfast, he quickly wolfs down his food and begins to move towards the fighting pits. The walk there is uneventful at best, and he spends the majority of it thinking about how excited he is for today. He has a day off from his work as a hunter, and is planning on using it to work on his abilities as a duelist. While he certainly enjoys archery, he has always preferred his talon swords. Unfortunately he doesn't get to practice with them as much, as being a hunter requires more subtlety and killing from afar.

Arriving at the Pits, there are two duels in front of him, so Evan prepares by doing some basic warm up exercises. He starts by doing a set of lunges to loosen his legs, then proceeds to stretch his back and arms. He goes and gets some water to make certain he is hydrated, and tightens the straps on his camouflage armor. The first pair leaves the arena, one with a broken nose and the other with several bruises running down his stomach.

Knowing he is nearly up, Evan does a couple sets of sit-ups and push ups to warm his muscles up further. He does a few sets of jumping jacks to wake himself up further and get his blood pumping. Finally, he makes certain both of his talon swords are in good condition, as well as clean. He turns to see the two women who were fighting in the Arena leaving, particularly gory. With a deep breath, he enters the Arena, and calls out for an opponent.
