Appearance:Rador stands at 5 foot 9 inches and just like all nykian's he's pale and has dark hair. A small bit of stubble has started to grow. But it's clear he won't be growing a beard for a few years just yet. His hair is usually cut short so that whoever he is fighting with can't use it to get a hold on him.
He always either wears his robes when in public no exceptions.
Character Concept rador is a very good example of a monk who only cared about his own intrests when he joined up with the monk. He wanted the power and authority of the position he didn't want to become a monk to devote his life to one of the gods ruling the city. Still, he takes his job very seriously, since he doesn't want to lose the life of privilige he has carved out for himself. He's very brutal and strict in upholding the laws of the western quarter. To the point of looking as if he's overcompensating for the fact he's a freshly minted monk.
Still, if you don't break any laws and treat him with the respect he deserves he is a fairly decent guy.
Character History Rador was born in a family of blacksmiths in the western quarter of nyka. Both of his parents had hoped that he would follow in their footsteps and become a humble blacksmith that they could be proud on.
However, rador was part of a large family and while the monks always gave the large family the rations they needed. The older siblings always got the better goods. The oldest ones got the first pick of the food. Leaving only the least appetizing stuff for Rador. His parents loved all of their children, but most of their attention went to the older ones. And the older ones were the oens that helped them in the forge. So it just made sense to them that the older ones got the best food, or that he had to do more chores . They worked while the younger ones played. When it was their turn at the forge and the older ones moved out then they would get the better food.
Of course it didn't work like that. Even when he also started to work in their families forge. The elder ones still got away with the best food and pushed him aside. This time his parents trying to rationalize it by stating he was just young and not doing as heavy work as the older ones. And then his little sister was born. When she was of the age where he had to start doing chores.. she suddenly didn't have to do them. Whenever he complained that his younger sister wasn't doing chores and that he had to do them. They told him that he needed to be nicer to his younger sister. He always got the bad deal. He always got ordered around and whenever he complained that it was unfair he always got rebuked or ignored.
Rador had enough of it. He was sick of getting pushed around by everybody in his family. He wanted to have good food, he wanted to get his rightful share of the goods. He wanted to be the guy who could push around the others. So getting into the monkhood just seemed to be a reasonable choice.
His parents went against him. Fearing for his life, they knew how dangerous the aparture was and how many monks lived short brutal lives. Rador disregarded his families pleading and spent more time brawling and fighting then actually behind the anvil. He could work on his metalsmithing skill after he got into the monkhood. But to get in there he didn't need to be an expert blacksmith. He needed to be able to take down the other people trying to get into the monkhood. He needed to be able to survive the aparture.
So with a relentless singlemindness the young boy fought. Learning exactly how to smash people into the ground and avoiding getting smashed into the ground with experience.
Then, when he was 17 the moment he had been waiting for happened. He was of age and a monk died. He took part in the trials. He managed to smash his opponent into the dirt and somehow managed to convince the monk that interviewed him that he deserved to pass the second test. Maybe they thought his desperation to be a part of the monkhood and the drive to get the privilege would drive him to do his duties well.
His third test.. the three day's and nights in the aparture was a close shave. He doesn't talk much about what he witnissed there. All other people know that at the end of the three day's and nights rador crawled out of the apature half dead. But with a wild grin on his face. He had gone through something terrible and come out stronger.
The monks took him, bandages his wounds and he took his oaths. So on the summer of 515 after the valtarrian.. Radon joined the ranks of the monks of xannos.
